OMG I'm 11 stone

thecutback · 02/01/2021 09:18

Heaviest I've ever been.

This year has been tough, iui, then ivf, then a traumatic miscarriage and then the drinking and eating that comes with Christmas etc.

Really need to get it sorted! Very unhappy at this weight

Sorry, well over HALF a stone.
I wish I lost well over a stone!

micc · 02/01/2021 09:46

I hear ya! My ideal weight is 9.5 and I'm around 13!!! This is the heaviest I have ever been too, but I started yesterday, classic new year new me! I was so down about it in December but now I feel really motivated to get back into my bloody jeans Haha! It's been a tough year OP, its seems especially tough for you. Dont beat yourself up about your weight. Xx

Calmandmeasured1 · 02/01/2021 09:46

Okay OP. Just get yourself on a diet and fitness regime. Pointless to create a thread about this (especially one which stated your weight but no height). What do you want others to do about you being overweight?

Why did you reply to just be mean?

My BMI is 26.1.

I should get this moved to weight loss chat.

Totally doable op. I was 11 st 6 Oct 2019 (had routine medical) bursting out of size 14 bmi 27.

By feb 2020 I was 9st 6 and a size 10. Did 16 8 and cardio every day worked well and fast. Kept it off too and am 46.

MsTSwift · 02/01/2021 09:49

Am 5 ft 6 bmi 21 now

zzizzer · 02/01/2021 09:50

I'm so sorry for your loss and that you've had such a shit year OP. I've been there with miscarriages and infertility and there's nothing like it. Flowers

Don't worry, you can lose that weight easily and it might be good to have something to mentally focus on while you recover physically - but don't cut too drastically, keep up all your vitamins, and keep an eye on your iron levels especially after a difficult miscarriage.

Lol. If people can't do misery Olympics, they will do fat olympics😂

Op, if you crack on it the 2 stone can go quite quickly. Not too quickly though! I second MFP and proper tracking, add some exercise and most importantly, make changes to your eating which will last. It's not much point losing weight when then you jump back to eating which made you put on weight. Look at some healthier options and make some changes for good.

As pp said there is weightloss chat and some threads can be really helpful for you. Good luck!

JonasKahnwald · 02/01/2021 09:51

Wow lots of catty jealous people on this thread.

And yeah, some people are REALLY touchy about weight discussions of any kind. Do look at the weight loss chat section and join one of the friendly groups who would welcome you Smile

I’m so sorry you’ve had such a rough year OP. You’re absolutely not being sensitive, others are being a little bit by posting their weights in comparison. If it’s a lot for you then it’s a lot for you.

However, it’s understandable considering the year you’ve had if you’ve turned to food as a comfort. Just make sure you don’t get into a vicious spiral of feeling low, eating because you’re low, feeling lower because you’ve gained weight and eating because you’re lower.

New year new you OP! Not too late to do something about it if you want to. Get out there walking for a start. Fresh air, exercise, seeing new places - all good to lift the spirits and make you feel better.

I hope the ivf will work out for you. I’ve been there and it’s tough. Flowers

I've bought Pinch of Nom books for easy - slimming recipes and stopped the habit of my nightly G&T - loosing about half a pound a week - 21 ibs lost so far. I am 5 foot 2 and was nearly 14 stone !!
It's been a lifestyle change for me - but willpower is everything.

AuntieMarys · 02/01/2021 09:53

I'm 13 stone and 6 feet. Normally 12 stone.

HugeAckmansWife · 02/01/2021 09:54

OP this would have gone totally differently if you'd said I want to lose 2 stone and struggling with motivation. By putting the 11st figure in it gets people's backs up. If it helps, I'm 5ft and working downward from 13st slowly. A pound a week is 4st in a year and a year goes by pretty quick
I've also fallen in love with modest weight training, kettlebells, sit ups, squats etc that you can do at home. I've lost 12lb in actual weight but seen a big change in my shape in 3 months, more than a 12lb loss would suggest. - much more effective than cardio I've found (possibly age related at 45)

MsTSwift · 02/01/2021 09:54

Everyone finds their own way but for intermittent fasting works so well. I still eat lovely food and treats only less of it and in a shorter time period. Psychologically works for me anyway not good at total denial!

SilentlyLaughing · 02/01/2021 09:55

I got on the scales one NYD (after miserably eating and drinking the night before and moaning about my Buddha belly) and was 11 stone 11. I logged onto My Fitness Pal and started tracking calories and got down to my 9 stone goal weight. You can get healthier OP. I’m sorry for your loss, good luck with the next part of your IVF Journey. Flowers

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 02/01/2021 09:55

@MrsMiaWallis

I'm 13 stone if it makes you feel better. 5.9, but still.
Same!! I blame perimenopause.

Same here op.

5ft 1ish and weighed in at 11 2

My normal weight is around the 9 stone mark so I've bought a wii fit with balance board and all the Zumba and excercise things to go with it and am on a mission to move more etc etc.

What I put in my mouth bothers me but if it's not in the house I won't go and buy it specifically so will be clearing out after Sunday as that's our belated New Years toast and nibbles day this year due to work.

MrsFluffyMuff · 02/01/2021 09:57

I'm 10st5, I'm usually 9st, 9 and a half at a push! Need to get my arse back into gear this year.

By putting the 11st figure in it gets people's backs up

Why? Do you need to be morbidly obese to be able to want to loose weight these days?

MajesticWhine · 02/01/2021 09:58

Hi OP - I am nearly 11 stone and I have gradually gained weight this year in fact gradually over a few years, I have never been this heavy apart from pregnancy. I am not tall either and at this weight I am on the overweight range for BMI.
I need to stop the seasonal puddings and chocolates after dinner.
Vegetables for snacks instead of peanuts and breadsticks.
I need to cut down alcohol.
No takeaways Sad
Stop eating the same portions as my DH who is a triathlete and needs a ton more calories. My evening meal is my problem I can eat a sensible breakfast and lunch and then around 6pm onwards it's all downhill.
Back on a good pattern of regular exercise once my current self isolation has finished. My dog is fat too so we can help each other.

justanotherremainer · 02/01/2021 09:58

You’re not allowed to be upset OP! You’re not overweight ENOUGH yet.

Mums net is so weird sometimes.

Of course it’s ok to be upset if you are overweight. You dont have to 20 stone before that is allowed.

I recommend making a plan for reducing your calorie intake and increasing your exercise. The 5 2 works great for me.

You can totally do it.
