OMG I'm 11 stone

Heaviest I've ever been.

This year has been tough, iui, then ivf, then a traumatic miscarriage and then the drinking and eating that comes with Christmas etc.

Really need to get it sorted! Very unhappy at this weight

OP posts:
BaconAndAvocado · 02/01/2021 23:48

I too am the heaviest I’ve ever been and am heading towards a size 14. I’m usually a 10/12. It’s all down to greediness over the past 6 weeks. I know I’ve been a pig.

And there’s still nice food lying around the house so I’m going to have to dig deep!

This time last year I started Couch to 5K which, in turn, made me start doing HIIT sessions. I’m hoping to resume fitness soon.

However, the main thing for me to do is stop overeating and get back to 3 meals a day.

I will begin on Monday...

Good luck everyone!

This thread is so odd. Where else would posters be advised that it would’ve been more “tactful“ to post someone else?

I set up the thread that I’m overweight at the moment. It’s not rocket science - I’m taking in more calories than burning off. In other words, despite the fact I’m exercising loads, my portion sizes are too big. There is no deep-seated, complex reason - it’s literally that I eat too much. It would probably cripple the diet industry, but when it comes down to it that’s the reason a lot of people are overweight.
Why do we have to tiptoe around people who are overweight on MN? No wonder we have such an obesity problem in the UK.
The OP Came on here for support and within about three posts she’d been told that someone else was 20 stone with a Hmm face.
No one called anyone “disgusting“ but those people who have their own weight issues chose to interpret comments as such.
If the OP is still reading, then good luck and I hope 2021 is a better year for you.

Totally agree! The 20st reply was particularly annoying. How is it OPs fault that some other randomer weighs more? You get fat by eating too much. Maybe instead of putting stupid faces the 20st poster might have said “hi op, I’m overweight too, let’s support each other!”

But noooo ... god forbid people actually take responsibility for their weight issues

grannyinapram · 03/01/2021 10:08

I've always been a size 6-8 and 2 days ago I asked my dh to grab me some size 10 jeans and they are still a bit tight, I don't know how it happened scoffs and scoffs and scoffs but I swear to god it hurts. I want to be slim, but I feel like a big plate of jelly

I'll be doing the couch to 5k this year lol jk 😅
I'd hate to know what I actually weigh though so well done for that- thats the hardest part!!!!!!

Delamalama · 03/01/2021 10:13

Yept any mention of being fat on MN and you're being cruel. I've noticed in real life too, let's all say how wonderful it is to be fat, let's celebrate and be proud of our curves.
A woman I know posted on facebook how she'd put 3 stone on and was finally loving herself. She got more likes and comments than I've ever seen her get, all positive.

I've put weight on and I'm fed up to be honest, it is hard to lose but I certainly wont be celebrating my weight gain and I blame noone but my self.

Xenia · 03/01/2021 10:35

The coronavirus isn't polite to people who are overweight like Boris J who was 17 stone 7 when he got very very sick with it, sadly.

However it is not easy for lots of people to lose weight, including for me particularly in a pandemic when lots of things are very hard for people and food is the one thing that is usually available.

kowari · 03/01/2021 10:35

I've noticed in real life too, let's all say how wonderful it is to be fat, let's celebrate and be proud of our curves. The 'curvy' equals fat thing is silly too. I'm an hourglass, just, and I'm underweight. Many overweight people are apple shaped, I guess that's still a curve but curvy to me is small waist compared to chest and hips, you can have curves at any size.

MsTSwift · 03/01/2021 10:46

“If only everything in life was as easy as putting on weight”

SchrodingersImmigrant · 03/01/2021 10:48

Yes. I am not curvy. I was curvy as size 14 with hourglass figure. Back fat rolls aren't "curvy"👀. There is massive distortion going on about bodies. It's not healthy in a same way it wasn't healthy when sizes -6 were promoted. This just kills slower.
sits up straight to try to not think about the back fat

SchrodingersImmigrant · 03/01/2021 10:49

“If only everything in life was as easy as putting on weight”
😂 Ha, yeah
Icenii · 03/01/2021 10:53

There's a whole other forum that prides itself on calling non overweight people from here TeenyTiny and pulls them to bits. I'm sure they think they are very cool and relaxed but it screams of self hatred and self loathing. I don't know why it's fine to do this, but they seem happy to do so. It's bullying. All people should be able to dicuss how they feel about themselves regardless of weight or whatever.

CardoMondo · 03/01/2021 10:54

I hate it when people say “you’re just curvy!” ... no, I have excess fat

fellrunner85 · 03/01/2021 11:00

YES! I'm a size 8 and curvy; because I have a massive bum and thighs in comparison to my waist. This is annoying when it comes to buying running shorts, because they seem to be built for more athletic figures and never seem to fit properly.

I was arguably less "curvy" when I was overweight. Even though I had massive boobs (34HH at my biggest) , I was a bit of a blob as the fat in between my chest and hips all sort of merged into one.

Bizarre! I didn’t ask for my post to be withdrawn 🤭
SchrodingersImmigrant · 03/01/2021 11:49

No way😂

PickAChew · 03/01/2021 12:16

I'm definitely not curvy. OK, so I am a 32GG, or thereabouts but the overall aesthetic is fairly lumpy.

PickAChew · 03/01/2021 12:20

In defence of the "teeny Tiny" dig, MN does attract its fair share of competitive "any more than a spoonful of tuna and a slice of cucumber and I pile on the pounds" under-eaters.

Etulosba · 03/01/2021 12:24

but the overall aesthetic is fairly lumpy.

I'm not sure anybody would appreciate being referred to as lumpy.

Yeah, there are quite vocal extremes on both sides. I have spotted quite a few threads where I assume serious ED is going on. No one will ever convince me that they are putting a weight on 600 calories. Some were really concerning and I hope they find help.
justanotherneighinparadise · 03/01/2021 12:34

All I said was I was one pound less than the poster I quoted. I’ve said worse lol 🤣

SchrodingersImmigrant · 03/01/2021 12:35

I want to know what @GoldfishParade said because that was the fastets hoding of post ever. Maybe she was 2 pounds lighter😂

justanotherneighinparadise · 03/01/2021 12:37

🤣

WorraLiberty · 03/01/2021 12:40

I wonder if there's Gremlins at play?

I've just seen this thread in Site Stuff.

Icenii · 03/01/2021 12:47

Bit sad to be mocking people if you suspect eating disorders. Wonder if simar jokes are made about compulsive over eaters.

I've seen it also used against short people.
