Heaviest I've ever been.

This year has been tough, iui, then ivf, then a traumatic miscarriage and then the drinking and eating that comes with Christmas etc.

Really need to get it sorted! Very unhappy at this weight

OP posts:

@justanotherneighinparadise

I wasn’t talking about the OP, I was quoting a poster who was calling those of my height and weight overweight. I think it’s damaging and I called it out.
But it’s true. When I was past my healthy weight for my height - I was over weight. No point in pretending it’s not. I still feel overweight. This year has been really tough but if anything when being overweight puts you in a vulnerable position when there is a serious virus circulating it’s time to start trying to sort it out.
NuniaBeeswax · 02/01/2021 14:49

"Someone thin will come along and tell me to eat 1200 cals a day and I will basically combust."

1200? You greedy gluttonous pig. You don't need anything more than a thimble of quinoa and a sniff of lettuce leaf unless you're running marathons everyday. No wonder we have an obesity crisis.

@TheLovleyChebbyMcGee

To all the people who tagged me - enough. The OP was shocked to weigh so much, its been a shitter of a year, its the second of January and our Christmas tree isn't even packed away yet, Can we please have a break from being told how shocking it is to be overweight?

I'm sorry its been a rubbish year for you OP, but there is a whole board dedicated to weightloss, it woul have been better to post there.

Here's the thing though, the OP wasn't telling anybody how shocking it is to be overweight. She was commenting on her own weight. There was no offence meant to anyone else in her posts. If people choose to be offended, that's on them, not the OP.

And to be fair, she can post wherever she wants.

justanotherneighinparadise · 02/01/2021 14:51

But wouldn't the NHS BMI calculator put you at overweight given the info you've provided? It's not an attack but based on where my own BMI is on NHS.

No, not at all.

She can't say that she feels overweight without making others feel guilty or jealous it seems in a world where no one must ever give offence or talk about anyone but MMEEEE

TurquoiseDress · 02/01/2021 14:52

YANBU OP

I've similarly put on weight & am now very uncomfortable with it. My usual clothes feel tight & uncomfortable; my normal jeans won't even do up Shock

I'm the heaviest I've ever been in life (apart from when pregnant)- I'm not going to give specifics but I'm not tall and around 1.5 stones over my usual weight that I've been most of my adult life.

For me, I put on weight during lockdown last year when organised sport & regular exercise went out the window.

You sound like you want to change which is the most important thing- I'm vowing to turn over a new leaf with the new year!

I'm planning at least a couple of alcohol free days (I've found myself drinking every day recently, even if it's just 1 or 2 glasses of wine, it's not a good habit), taking up jogging in local park (even if it's really cold!) & doing online/YouTube work outs.

Everyone is different, if you don't feel good at your current weight, making changes is a positive thing!

TurquoiseDress · 02/01/2021 14:53

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage & the journey it took to get there Thanks

Right? why on earth would someone come to, and read and comment on a thread if it bothers them so much.

Look- I have some topics that are sensitive to me. I lost my mother at a young age and people moaning about silly little things about their mothers upsets me. So, guess what? I dont post or read those threads because I know I would be tempted to be irrational and snarky.

Take some responsibility for your own actions and choices and if a topic upsets you then dont bloody read it. Its really not that hard FGS, but you simply cannot police others for wanting to talk about a topic if they so wish. I'm really sorry but the world doesnt revolve around you- its up to you to remove yourself from things that are upsetting.

@MrsMiaWallis

Being 2 stone overweight wouldn't normally take you into the morbidly obese category!
But gaining just a pound a month without taking stock and reversing that trend does lead to morbid obesity, eventually. For me there is only about a stone and a half between healthy and obese bmi.

Confused I don't see how with a height 1inch smaller than OP (5'3?) and 11lbs. I'm not sure what age range has to do with it but I'm at the very top end of a healthy BMI (according to NHS) being 5'5 and 10stone 6lb (and currently being inactive😬). I'm just a couple of lbs from being overweight according to them.
Coolieloach · 02/01/2021 15:26

Omg I totally know how you feel, I weighed in at 12st this morning- the heaviest I’ve ever been, problem is I have absolutely no will power. I start every day being good, drinking loads of water, have a banana for lunch, sensible low fat tea with either salad or loads of veggies. Then by 11pm I’m in bed eating cheese and biscuits and milk tray 😬

Bambini12 · 02/01/2021 15:27

Same here! 11 stone and nearly in a size 14 when I've been a size 10 all my life. My body has changed so much in the last few years and it's hard to come to terms with. Even if 11 stone is not considered a lot, it's still not a size I feel comfortable in.

Edel2019 · 02/01/2021 15:36

@Joeblack066

A better post would have been “OMG I’m the heaviest I have ever been”. As all you’ve done is upset a lot of people. Surely that wasn’t your intention....... 🤷‍♀️
Oh my god 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
tisonlymeagain · 02/01/2021 15:37

Me neither @FTMF30. I just put my details into is 5ft 2, 10st. It says I am overweight. BMI 25.7 When I was 11st by BMI was almost 29. (But for some reason when I was pregnant and weighed 11st the midwife calculated it as BMI 30.5 which put me into obese and extra checks 🙄)

I felt very heavy at the end of April with lockdown. I’d eaten far too much shit and with the gyms being closed hadn’t exercised much, my weight had rocketed to 10 stone 10. I did the fast 800 then the 5:2, the weight dropped off and has stayed off. I’m 5’6” and feel happy when my weight is between 8’7 and 9 stone. A lot of my friends are around the same height as me and we’re all different shapes and sizes - we don’t judge each other (unlike some unkind posters on this thread). Do what’s right for you OP and I hope 2021 is a better year for you.

Oh piss off. The OP posted about how she was feeling. Perhaps if people get upset about a post then the internet isn’t the place for them? FFS has this place turned into Netmums 🙄
Icenii · 02/01/2021 16:07

Why are people getting upset? I think the OP has pointed out her BMI is in the overweight category, and hopefully she will take action. Good on her for this. If you happen to weigh more or have a higher BMI and this is making you feel bad, then you need to deal with your own feelings, stop projecting and thinking everything is about you. It isn't.

FestiveFruitloop · 02/01/2021 16:13

I assure you it hasn't. Hmm

ADRIENNEthroughbloodshoteyes · 02/01/2021 16:18

OP I hear you. I’m 5ft 10 and I’m 11st 2 now. That’s a good 12lb over my normal weight. Nothing fits. I have a huge wardrobe of size 10, can’t wear any of it. I have a massive muffin top. I’m uncomfortable squashed into my clothes.

I noticed the weight a few months ago and my efforts only stopped the gain but no loss.

I’m reading this thread with interest. I need help making new habits and sticking to them.

CardoMondo · 02/01/2021 16:20

Fucking hell, you can’t say anything on here these days without “upsetting” everyone!

OP - I understand. I’m 12st 3lbs which is the heaviest I’ve ever been. And I don’t give a fuck about “Mavis down the street weighs 20st” ... Mavis isn’t me. We’re allowed to be upset about our own weight and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. I’m low carbing to lose weight now.

Violinist64 · 02/01/2021 16:22

Crotchburn is right. In the 1980s, when I was in my early twenties, my measurements were 34(AA), 25, 38. This equated to an overall size 12 but l needed size 14 jeans and tops were often size 10. Modern sizing would be around size 8-10. My BMI was normal and I was a healthy weight. My tops now are a modern size 14 and trousers a modern size 16. I am overweight and am trying to be slimmer. I totally understand where the OP is coming from and l think many of us could take a leaf from her book. It IS better to try and lose weight when there is not as much to lose. Far too many of us, and I include myself in this, leave it until we have much more to lose and then find it dispiriting, although hats off to all who do successfully lose a lot of weight.

Turquoisesea · 02/01/2021 16:31

I’m not far off the same OP, not overweight by a lot of people’s standards but too much for what I am normally and would like to lose a stone as my clothes are getting tight. I am also 50 so need to get on top of it now as much harder to lose the older you get. I’m another one who does 16:8 usually (not over Christmas hence the weight gain) and find that works really well for me. Going to start 5:2 next week too.

Paisley2018 · 02/01/2021 16:34

I sympathise with you OP. I am well over 10 stone and 5’5. A few more pounds would push me into the overweight category.
I have been a size 10 for years but today have had to order size 12 and I am having to squeeze into my current clothes and I just look so bloated and wobbly.
I am aiming to make changes.
There is nothing wrong with being a size 12. I know that. But for me I just don’t feel myself.
