I feel January the 1st is when Christmas ends for and when I take my decorations down.

6th January as it's a bank holiday here and the celebration of the arrival of the 3 kings - plus kids get stockings again!

WankPuffins · 01/01/2021 09:47

Boxing Day.

I really hate Christmas though and only pretend to love it for the kids.

Taikoo · 01/01/2021 09:53

Around the 6th of January.
Taking the decorations down on 1 January is a bit miserable, I think - 'here's your coat , what's your hurry".

00100001 · 01/01/2021 09:56

Christmas for is is 3 days Eve to boxing Day. Tree up day before, and down day after.
It's a live tree, so doesn't like being brought inside really.

Piccalino3 · 01/01/2021 09:58

I like to keep it going for as long as I can. Decorations all still up here (lots of Christmas food still - yes I overbought), Christmas films on tv and a roast today. Will keep this going over the next few days but start to take some decorations down tomorrow and aim to pack them away by the time school starts on Tuesday. Always makes me sad but then look forward to birthdays in our house in February and then Easter, spring....

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 01/01/2021 10:13

As close to the 6th January as I can get usually. It'll be Sunday this year as our wedding anniversary is on Monday & the dc are back to school Tuesday. We don't normally put them up 'til mid December (it was a bit earlier this year as DH was home).

DrDreReturns · 01/01/2021 10:24

Always take them down on New Year's Eve. Can't stand having them up in the New Year.

maddy68 · 01/01/2021 10:25

Used to be new year's Day. But now I live in another country and we have three kings day which is when the children actually get their presents so now it's Jan 6th

Porcupineintherough · 01/01/2021 10:27

Weekend closest to the 6th for me. Our decorations will come down on Sunday. It's always a very bleak feeling when they're gone though. I hate Jan at the best of times and I think this Jan will be worse than most. Sad

inisfree · 01/01/2021 10:33

6th January

In Ireland, 6th January is a lovely celebration for women (obvs except this year).

1st of January is when its over for me

I decorate the hall, kitchen, living room, conservatory, playroom and pub shed, two out of three children have 5ft + trees in their bedrooms, so i start taking down the decs room by room on the 27th

The last rooms is the living room which comes down on the 2nd onwards...thats mainly because its ds1 birthday on the 3rd and it was always nice to get the birthday banner and balloons up

LoveMyKidsAndCats · 01/01/2021 11:29

Leaving mine up till end of jan or longer I'm loving my festive lights too much still to take them down 😂

justjuggling · 01/01/2021 11:54

27th December

TrickyD · 01/01/2021 12:00

I am expecting the 12 Drummers to turn up on 6 January and they will declare Christmas is over and we will take the decorations down.

Epiphany - 6 Jan.

Decs come down last thing on Twelfth Night - 5 Jan.

ImnotCarolineHirons · 01/01/2021 12:54

Twelfth Night, always.

Teddy1970 · 01/01/2021 13:03

2nd Jan, I always feel when New Years Day has passed that it's over, plus the DC have got school on Monday, it somehow feels wrong to have the decorations up when they come home from school and are back to normal.

DemolitionBarbie · 01/01/2021 13:07

6 Jan but I might put the tree lights up as fairy lights because covidbrexitjanuary needs as much twinkle as it can get.

luckylavender · 01/01/2021 13:19

Twelfth Night

Shallow07 · 01/01/2021 13:22

Tomorrow I expect. It's DD's first birthday on 7th so we'll be putting up a few decorations for that. Then after that, the living room needs decorating asap as we recently moved in and it's pretty grim in there.

Tellmelies65 · 01/01/2021 13:25

Shallow07 Aww happy first birthday to your dd hope it’s a nice as it can be with COVID.

RainMoon · 01/01/2021 13:26

12th night. Why the fuck would you get rid of Christmas pretty fairy light early this year 😂

Gingerbreadchoc · 01/01/2021 13:29

We will take ours down on the 2nd.

Teddy1970 · 01/01/2021 13:32
