Yes, I have a car and am working from home so wouldn't be an issue for me.

TirisfalPumpkin · 31/12/2020 17:28

But they haven’t said anything about 24/7 vaccines, it’s entirely a Mumsnet fantasy.

It was one of the questions asked on last night's PM Q&A. A 24 hour rollout wasn't promised, although he didn't dismiss it out of hand either.

TBH having it as an option might not be a bad idea to catch shift workers and the keen. I am surprised so many people are up for it, though. When you rely on public transport (which doesn't operate at 2am) are a lone female and don't live in the safest area, I don't think it's unreasonable to want to wait a bit longer for a daytime appt.

Cutesbabasmummy · 31/12/2020 18:03

I'd go anytime of day or night! I want our lives back

FiveToFour · 31/12/2020 18:15

Yes,it's one night and I want the vaccine. And getting there, wherever it is,is likely to be easier ( from the perspective of a driver),also most locations will be quieter.

EbenezerSnooze · 31/12/2020 18:18

@pinbinpin

This has to be a joke surely? What kind of parent is going to drag their child out of bed in the wee hours (unless some kind of emergency)

I've often got my kids up at 3 or 4 in the morning to either go on holiday or return back from a holiday. Back in the day we'd do it once a year for ski holidays. They aren't bothered in the slightest and easily catch up on the plane, I'm the car on way home or whatever.

If I'd do that for a holiday I'd damn well do that for a crucial vaccine. Can't believe there are people who cba. incredible.

How have you construed what I've said to mean I can't be arsed?
Wingedharpy · 31/12/2020 18:19

I draw the line at jogging nude @IrmaFayLear.
Not with these breasts!😊

Allispretty · 31/12/2020 18:23

I would yes, I doubt I'll even be offered one though that online calculator estimates me to be given one in July/September 🤦🏽‍♀️😩

LilMidge01 · 31/12/2020 18:28

Of course! And as one poster said, I would welcome it actively if it meant that more day appointments were there for those who needed them and couldn't do late apointments. I'm fine with getting less sleep one night for the vaccine!!!

smalalalalalala · 31/12/2020 19:13

Disclaimer: I haven't read the whole thread

I have a friend with backache and has been given an appointment for a scanner at 23.00 because of COVID they had to catch up on all the cancelled/delayed appointment at first lockdown (not in the UK)

MorganKitten · 31/12/2020 19:43

Yes

JinglesWish · 31/12/2020 19:43

Yes, I’d go!!

Daphnise · 31/12/2020 19:50

Yes- and I'd hope fewer people wold be there to potentially infect others!

AndAPartridgeInABearTree · 31/12/2020 19:56

YANBU yes. I'm prepared to give up one night's good sleep to sleep better knowing I'm immune to this virus.

user1471453601 · 31/12/2020 20:03

Id go, in my Pys and dressing gown. And DD would take me. Whenever, where ever

Serena1977 · 31/12/2020 20:25

I'd go anytime, anyplace at a moment's notice. Nothing can be worse than the situation right now.

PronkWine · 31/12/2020 20:26

Yes of course.

yellowcatss · 31/12/2020 20:43

i would but its irrelevant as its not been suggested and i seriously dout would ever happen

Firstworddinosaur · 31/12/2020 21:01

I'd love to but I rely on public transport so would have to have a day time appointment.

RainingBatsAndFrogs · 31/12/2020 21:11

@Thisisnotreallymyname can you point us to who is this ‘they’ that are planning 24/7 vaccines? I mean an official ‘they’, not people on Twitter?

Thisisnotreallymyname · 31/12/2020 21:20

This was a post I saw on Twitter, that said “ they “ might look to rolling out longer hours to give vaccine, and it was being considered to do some at night.
I have no idea who “ they “ are..........Gov’t , Health Service decision ?
Just wondering if, if it ever did come to that, would people consider it x

Like other people I have got up insanely early to get a flight so why not. Roads are empty and if it gets us out of this quicker it's a no brainer. We are retired so no work to worry about. My DM gets her 2nd jab next week.

waydownwego · 31/12/2020 21:43

I don't object to an anti-social time, but as a single female who doesn't drive, I'd have to consider whether I could safely get there and back without being attacked. I mean, I wouldn't walk to any of the GP surgeries around here in the dark, it's just not safe.

So the answer is... it depends.

jessycake · 31/12/2020 22:13

I think it would be better for them to be voluntary at those times , it would suit a proprotion of the population and could be efficient, if done in the right way .

Sn0tnose · 31/12/2020 22:17

I absolutely would.

DH and I both have underlying medical conditions which realistically mean that we’d be in serious trouble if we catch it. I’d stand outside at 2am in a four hour queue during a blizzard if it meant I got vaccinated sooner.

FourTeaFallOut · 31/12/2020 22:19

Yes. I'm shielding as cev - I'd be there in a heartbeat.
