Absolutely. It might even work better for me than a daytime one, it can be hard to get time off during the day in term tkme--although I suspect our headteacher would absolutely make exceptions for the vaccine.

I live walking distance from my GP and from our local testing centre so I assume if this happened it would be one of those.

Myshinynewname · 01/01/2021 00:49

Yes, I'd go at any time at all.

AKissAndASmile · 01/01/2021 01:08

Yes, but realise I'm in a very privileged position compared to most: own transport, flexible job, supportive co-parent, night person (yes, I'll struggle in the morning, but you never think of that at the time while you're up 🤣)

Thedogscollar · 01/01/2021 01:12

I work nights NHS I'd happily have the vaccine during my break. I'd have it at anytime just want to work normally like I used to.

Mally2020 · 01/01/2021 01:31

Well I am going to vaccinating in london after the new year and I am due to get a vaccine very shortly. I think that if you have the time ie on furlough wfm etc it is the right thing to do to use up all available appointments and get through the process quicker.

Mally2020 · 01/01/2021 01:32

be vaccinating*

Stillgoings · 01/01/2021 01:34

I so want to have it. Would go anytime

SickToDeathOfThis · 01/01/2021 01:37

I’d be more excited than a kid at Christmas 🎄 💉

ApplesinmyPocket · 01/01/2021 01:45

Yes, I would. And happily drive my DH there if it came up for him Why wouldn't you? Like one interrupted night isn't worth it?

Gooseysgirl · 01/01/2021 01:47

Yes! Anytime

buckeejit · 01/01/2021 11:23

Oh yes.

Huugi · 01/01/2021 11:33

Why wouldn't you? Like one interrupted night isn't worth it?

Lots of reasons. I couldn't do my job safely on a broken nights sleep. Also like 25% of households with children I'm a lone parent so would have to drag dc out of bed or leave them alone. So many posters on here unable to see past their own circumstances, doesn't take much to use a tiny bit of imagination why this wouldn't work for many people Hmm

MountainDweller · 01/01/2021 13:34

I cant, there is a curfew...

If the curfew was cancelled to facilitate 24hr vaccines, I'd probably go as long as I had enough notice to cancel any medical appointments the next day, as I wouldn't be safe to drive.

IrmaFayLear · 01/01/2021 13:49

Like your work wouldn’t let you have a day/morning off after a vaccine, @Huugi Hmm

I simply can’t fathom some people’s apathy or sheer bloody-mindedness. There are a few people who can’t make it by themselves, but so many more on here who would find something to whine about if they were handed £1 million Angry

fucksanta1 · 01/01/2021 14:08

No because the medication I take at night would make it unsafe for me drive as it makes me sleepy

vanillandhoney · 01/01/2021 14:25

Lots of people are self-employed and can't afford to lose half a day of pay. And no, lots of businesses wouldn't just let you have time off - you'd need to take unpaid leave (again, not everyone can afford this) or book annual leave.

I simply can’t fathom some people’s apathy or sheer bloody-mindedness.

I can't fathom some people's total inability to think outside of their own personal set of circumstances. So many people on this thread seem totally incapable of realising other people have very different lives and situations to them.

Bookworming · 01/01/2021 14:42

More important for self-employed to get vaccinated, they'd be off a lot longer in they got COVID! Sometimes you have to think outside the box!

amicissimma · 01/01/2021 14:43

Where do I apply...?

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 01/01/2021 14:47

I'd accept any appointment. One of my mum's friends had the vaccine in the last week and moaned on via text that she had to wait an hour, which I thought was in very bad taste.

Letseatgrandma · 01/01/2021 14:50

Definitely!

IrmaFayLear · 01/01/2021 14:54

Exactly, bookworming ! Self-employed I know are desperate for the vaccine. And show me the employer who wouldn’t want their workforce vaccinated. Exactly. They don’t exist. If I had vulnerable dcs, hell, I’d be crawling through the sewer pipes to get vaccinated.

What does exist, however, is a contingent of miserable, belligerent idiots who, as I said, can always find something to complain about.

Ineedaduvetday · 01/01/2021 15:14

I would as I can easily get an Uber and work would be flexible over my working hours the next day. I appreciate not everyone has that luxury which is why I'd be happy to take a difficult timed slot for those who cannot flex.

Grumpasaurus · 01/01/2021 15:16

Absolutely!!!!

vanillandhoney · 01/01/2021 15:28

Absolutely, but that doesn't mean they have to be guilted into accepting appointments at 2am. Not everyone who is self-employed is at high risk either - I work outdoors and pretty much never see anyone, and my overall risk is also low due to my age, skin colour and general health.

I'm sure everyone will be able to access the vaccine without being forced out of bed in the middle of the night. There's just no need for all the judgement at all. But of course a thread like this is guaranteed to encourage it.

Bookworming · 01/01/2021 15:32

@vanillandhoney I was responding to your ridiculous analogy of the self employed can't take a half day off work! Just pointing out that it's a false economy. They shouldn't be gilt tripped into getting a vaccine at 2.30am, they should be bloody grateful to be offered one.

Surely if they have one during the day, they will also lose money? They will have to go and wait, I'm sure it's not going to be so slick as to only taking 10 mins, these things rarely are.

Just don't please some people.
