Yes definitely

BluebellsGreenbells · 02/01/2021 11:11

No way. I don't want a vaccine at 2am or 2pm. Or at all

That wasn’t the question.

But let’s think about it, at some point enough people will get the vaccination. At this point the world will reopen and air travel and public transport, concerts etc will start again.

This will leave the non vaccinated people in a much worse position, they won’t have protection.

Rani123 · 02/01/2021 14:41

I think the idea is that you log onto some sort of system and pick your own appointment which is suitable but the appointments available are 24hrs . Thinks it's great idea for those that work unusual hours.

Splodgetastic · 02/01/2021 14:48

@Rani123 Yes, many people don’t work a traditional 9 to 5.

alliwantforchristmasis · 02/01/2021 16:27

Definitely id have an early hours appointment. If it meant my family and friends were safer because I couldn't give them the virus then Definitely. If it means I can hug my mum and my grandsons then I'd do it in a heart beat.

lemonsquashie · 02/01/2021 16:32

No, I would not. I'm happy to wait until vulnerable and other key people get it: nhs, teachers etc

There are plenty of shift workers who may want to do this though

greeneyedlulu · 02/01/2021 18:50

You want the vaccine so you go when its given, if you dont need any special requirements, what's the issue?

LovelyIssues · 02/01/2021 21:42

@BluebellsGreenbells the question was would you and my answer was no lol?

Kids over 5 have to wear masks in Scotland but not until 11 in England. With the new variant kids spread it more as can be seen by the teacher's reaction not wanting to teach them, so why are the general public subjected to this risk in shops and public transport? Kids go around touching food products they are not purchasing without masks and run around on public transport, they should be wearing masks on public transport and banned from shops in my view.

Bikingbear · 03/01/2021 15:17

Max124 kids only need masks in shops, other indoor places and school transport, not in schools themselves.

You can't ban children from shops. There are people with circumstances that mean they have no choice but take their child. These people still need to be able to buy food. I also can't remember the last time I saw a child in a shop picking up random shit...or making any sort of nuisance of themselves.
SallyB392 · 05/01/2021 22:14

Oops, pressed YABU, but I think I got that wrong. Bugger the time, a vaccine yes please anytime!

Iliketeaagain · 05/01/2021 22:23

I don't imagine for a minute there will be routine vaccinations in the middle of the night - not practical for most people.
But I do think it's likely to extend to 10 or 11 pm to try and get people vaccinated. Although I would hope that employers would allow people time to go and get their vaccine when offered even if meant to be working - it's in their interest to to have staff vaccinated in the long run.

Especially as the current aim is to keep routine nhs services going and vaccinate at the same time - not sure where they are going to magic up all the staff to run it, I imagine a lot to shifts will be covered by staff doing extra hours after normal shifts in the push to get everyone vaccinated.

I'd go anytime, but DH is at home too, so we could manage it. Not so easy for those who don't have the luxury of transport or a partner to make sure DCs are safe while you go to an appointment.

Planty13 · 05/01/2021 22:28

I would as I can drive. If I couldn’t drive then it’s unlikely

Bvop · 05/01/2021 22:32

I would take the 2.15 slot and wait around for 5 hours if necessary. Anything to get us all out of lockdown quicker

SaltyTootsieToes · 05/01/2021 22:41

While I wouldn’t be thrilled for an appointment in the wee hours, however how happy/relieved I’d feel to get the vaccine would over ride that big time. Happy to drive a distance too

headinthecloud · 05/01/2021 22:50

Yes I'd absolutely be there

TheFormerChild · 05/01/2021 23:07

Yes.

thinonice · 05/01/2021 23:19

I was once invited to an MRI scan at 4am. Thought this was a mistake but was told NO, machine is on 24/7 as there is a lot of demand and not enough MRI machines.

So yeh, I will be there for the vaccine any time of the day or night! Very little price to pay for the benefits to all. We need to get this shitty bug done and dusted!

IrmaFayLear · 06/01/2021 09:02

4am!

I thought it was bad enough when my MRI appointment was at 7am 40 miles away. But I was there - and there were people there who had much earlier appointments.

Hell yeah I'd be going for a vaccine any time. Apart from a few genuine reasons (immobile/totally no childcare) there are some lazy-arse people around.

And as for the poster upthread who claimed they were indispensable at work and they were never able to take time off... liar liar pants on fire.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 06/01/2021 09:25

Yes, in a shot, but I have a car and no children to think of.

yanisakershman · 19/01/2021 23:33

Yes! What's the problem with late night?

Sceptre86 · 19/01/2021 23:35

No as I don't drive.

LickEmbysmiling · 19/01/2021 23:36

Yes of course its a no brainer!!

Della1 · 19/01/2021 23:39

A million times over. No question.
