We seem to be in a similar position to March and the NHS is coming under serious strain. Aibu to think now is the time to bring back the clapping?

Dear god no. It was a shit idea to begin with.

Tootletum · 30/12/2020 23:59

Fuck that.

Namechangeme87 · 30/12/2020 23:59

I bet the nurse who lives few doors down from me loved been woken up from
Night shift .

Also no

SpaceRaiders · 30/12/2020 23:59
Hmm
Puffalicious · 30/12/2020 23:59

Lovely has it exactly.

Ex DH radiographer hated it and so did all the staff he works with: he said he would rather respect from government and patients face to face, which is A&E is rare!

Madeupwithit · 30/12/2020 23:59

Is this a wind up?

Fuck that shite.

NYEPOPPER1 · 31/12/2020 00:00

No thank you! Lovely thought but personally, I’m OK.

RaininSummer · 31/12/2020 00:00

Hell no. So lame.

TonkinLenkicks · 31/12/2020 00:00

I'm pretty sure being paid a fair wage would boost morale Hmm

But the country just won’t be able to afford that it doesn’t mean we aren’t grateful but if the money isn’t there it isn’t thete

Christ no. Behave yourself. It was nice as a one off, but swiftly became a mawkish, virtue-signalling chore which nobody could truly be bothered with. I gave up on it long before it was abandoned and I don’t regret it one bit.

Proudboomer · 31/12/2020 00:02

I didn’t do it the first time and I won’t do it if they want to bring it back.

Viviennemary · 31/12/2020 00:02

Nooooooooooooo

IfOnlyOurEyesSawSouls · 31/12/2020 00:03

As an NHS nurse - please, no.

If you want to help please lobby your MP for better conditions , more resources and improved pay .

Clapping became an empty easy gesture.

Graymare · 31/12/2020 00:03

No!

Twistered · 31/12/2020 00:04

No way. Just no.
Please god I couldn't face the clapping again .

notacooldad · 31/12/2020 00:04

God no.
I had a colleague at work filming his street with comments like 'disgraceful ' and 'disgusting" because the street was empty except his wife manically banging a pan lid with a wooden spoon!
Sanctimonious prick!

NYEPOPPER1 · 31/12/2020 00:04

@Twistered

No way. Just no. Please god I couldn't face the clapping again .
Why not?

Any second now the ‘key worker’ status race will be unleashed as well 🙄

StripeyDeckchair · 31/12/2020 00:04

Maybe rather than clapping everyone should stick to the rules - that's bound to benefit NHS staff & themselves. Win-win

NYEPOPPER1 · 31/12/2020 00:05

Just because some people took it too far doesn’t mean the whole thing was bad

Aquamarine1029 · 31/12/2020 00:05

I didn't clap the first time around. I'm sure as fuck not doing it now.

BananaPop2020 · 31/12/2020 00:05

@notacooldad that cracked me up 😀
