Just that really. Yes there was some cheesy bits with some speaker talk of “nourishment” (cringe) by reading children’s books, but most of it was good and positive. Nice mix of contributors. Well done Harry & Meghan.

Question: What did the podcast say about what Archwell is going to do? After all the business about 'creating content that unlocks action' I'd like to know what the action is.

Answer: They are advertising themselves as laxatives. It's ingenious because I believe it's already working.

I'm sure you'll find out more about what they're planning on doing when more of their podcasts are released. This was a holiday special.

I can't stand them. Really tried to like her and defend her for ages, but it's all the bollocks about being kind and compassionate while ghosting her elderly father for doing nothing more than the pair of them have done since - used the press to their advantage and set up photo shoots.

I certainly wouldn't. I have no interest whatsoever in rich, privileged people dishing out lectures from their houses while sat on their big cushion of wealth. I think most people would say exactly the same if Wills and Kate suddenly decided to start instructing us to live better lives, via Spotify and using their kids to hook listeners in.

Erm, no I'm not white. I'm also not Chinese or Indian or Native American. I'm 'not' many things. I just prefer to be defined by what I am, not by what I'm not. But you carry on speaking the one language of the non-whites.

I'm guessing this thread will get deleted like the others do, but I can't understand how leaving the royal family and making money needs to involve the ongoing use of their titles.

This is the reason anyone I know doesn't like them. Nothing to do with race. I would love to know why you think it is. Have people actually told you that race is the reason they don't like them, or are you just assuming it? Meghan is as white as she is black, so it would be a pretty stupid reason to dislike her.

Cruzrack I really would not engage- it’s a well known fact mumsnet is a majority white female middle class possibly middle aged website. I think this is evidenced by the slower pace on the black mumsnetters forum but of course I don’t know the figures. Whilst I agree H&M could have been so much more I also think the hatred they get is off the scale compared with W&K and really comments reek the undertone of MM being considered “uppity” “above her station” list goes on...

As a black woman my experience is that women of colour do not get a lot of love in media let alone the successful wealthy ones regardless of how they earned their wealth.

Staffy you are right she is mixed race- problem is a lot of mixed race people identify as black because of the historical “one-drop” rule but ultimately she is a woman of colour.

Harry could have done so much real good if he’d stayed in the U.K. and got involved in true charity work, he had such goodwill before. But I think rightly, people look at him just telling people what to do from a mansion in America and think “nah”.
And the interview that Megan did when she complained about how hard it was being a princess etc was such an error on their part.
But as people have said, they don’t really DO anything now, so they’ll become irrelevant soon enough.

And although I’m sure some people disliked her because of her being mixed race, I doubt this was the main thing. She was really popular initially and people were really pleased that Harry, who was also so popular, had found happiness.
The problem was the complaining about how it was all so hard, when most people thought “you’re a rich, literal princess, happily married, healthy, with a baby, and getting to travel the world with a bottomless pit of money for everything”, and then to moan about it just seemed really spoilt. She really misread the room.

@Wearywithteens totally agree. They could have done so much and I think people just expected a bit more than podcasts and promoting their friends’ businesses.

Ozgirl, things will change for H&M when the pandemic is, if not gone, under control and they can move about more. No sooner did they leave the UK, lockdowns and travel restrictions started so whatever they had hoped and planned has had to be put on the back burner.

One good thing for them is having precious time and space to be with their son.

I hope we'll see them here a couple of times in 2021 and that their real work really will kick off.

Yes @jessstan1 I do agree that it’s been very poor timing for them. But equally, I think the moment she complained about everything despite being one of the most privileged people in the world, was the moment that most normal people decided that they probably weren’t going to be the role models they thought they were.
It’s a shame for them, Harry in particular, who could have been a real force for good instead of just wittering on.

Things will definitely change for H&M in the New Year. It's going to be so much fun, I'm really looking forward to to seeing the result of the review, I wouldn't be surprised if H&M have a slight inkling of the outcome. I hope it happens very quickly. Can't wait to see how Her Majesty the Queen dishes out her judgement.

I thought I was really going to like Meghan. I even watched the wedding when I don’t actually watch tv. Enjoyed the wedding even though the vicar doing the eulogy did go on a bit but the music was good.
But I started to go off her when she announced her pregnancy at Eugenie‘s wedding. Pretty nasty thing to do but made nastier by the fact that Eugenie had already had to delay her engagement and wedding so that Harry and Meghan could go first.
The pair of them then started to get on my nerves with their environmental preaching whilst doing the opposite themselves but the final nail was the South African tour which could have done a lot to redeem them but they turned into yet another woe is me fest.

They're just two unqualified people making a buck from the Royal brand.

They have nothing to teach us from their l'ife experience' and are on the reality insta-money making band-wagon that many other vacuous celebs are. If you are inspired by that, fine but it's a bit pathetic.
