To have found Harry&Meghans NY podcast quite uplifting

(And it was v cute to hear Archie speaking also)

Just that really. Yes there was some cheesy bits with some speaker talk of “nourishment” (cringe) by reading children’s books, but most of it was good and positive. Nice mix of contributors. Well done Harry & Meghan.

@cruzrack

The media in the UK have treated Meghan shockingly and because Harry has stuck by her, they hate him too. Those words Meghan uttered, " Love Always Wins" cut some white folk deep. Can't stand the fact that they're still together.

I for one cannot wait for the next one. All these people saying shit about them will be there listening on the first day it's released 🤣

Honestly what utter nonsense Grin
cruzrack · 31/12/2020 20:35

I know A LOT of people won't like my comments - but those that have been the target of abuse in their life, based on their race, religion, background, will be very familiar with the language Meghan speaks.

Like I said, I loved the podcast. Got to hear from lots of people that don't normally get a platform - the forgotten ones - like George the Poet from London. Yeah, probably haven't heard of him, right?! Having him on their podcast will raise his profile - not with middle aged white women, of course, but many others.

Love the podcast and can't wait for more.

Oh yeah, Archie was well cute 🥰

Frownette · 31/12/2020 20:36

@cruzrack she's trying to say there is no one such language, as she can't speak it

FutureDuchessofHastings · 31/12/2020 20:37

@cruzrack
Nah I'm not a disgrace. You obviously don't like what I've said - hurt you has it? Boo hoo

Ha ha, hurt me? No. I'm just cringing for you. I don't like you speaking for 'non-white' people as though we are all one entity and that Harry or Meghan have anything in common with us. You make yourself sound utterly ignorant. And the very childish comments you have made since are just really embarrassing to read.

cruzrack · 31/12/2020 20:38

@HmmSureJan why does your comment not surprise me? Guess what, met you a million times before. Take that shit somewhere else.

Ahh ok, so you calling me a twat wasn't childish? Is that how you talk to your mum? Your partner? Exactly.

Thanks for your input. If you actually go on other forums - where there are many many non-whites, you will find very quickly, the amount of support Meghan receives. Even Harry.

No, I'll stick around for a bit. You're far too entertaining Grin

@FutureDuchessofHastings I suspect this is a sustained attempt to create a bun fight that will ultimately get the thread deleted. It's usually what happens on threads discussing M&H...

@cruzrack

You’re trying too hard to make a poor argument and if feels very amateurish. The reason people don’t take to Meghan and Harry is because they are hypocrites and talentless too.

FutureDuchessofHastings · 31/12/2020 20:47

I have no interest in going on any forum where people like you describe people as 'non-white'. I also don't support someone just for being born mixed race. Or for marrying a mixed race person. What the actual fuck is that about? I 'support' someone based on merit, ideas and contributions, not just because they happen to be born with the same skin colour as me or because they married someone with the same skin colour as me. Jesus Christ. Imagine just blindly supporting someone because they are 'non-white'? No thanks. I like to put a bit of effort and thought into who I offer my 'support' to, thanks.

Ok. Thanks.

I think you're very naive if you think these are the reasons people hate Meghan and Harry. Please just look outside your little bubble. There's a whole world outside.

ajandjjmum · 31/12/2020 20:52

My view is that she was welcomed by the Royal Family and the British people on the whole.

And then it started going downhill - the £56,000 engagement dress probably didn't help!

But they made their decision - they wanted privacy for their son. So they should make that work in the States - no reason why they can't. Except that they keep trying to do everything they can to remind everyone of their existence - usually through random press releases of how much they're being paid, and how they're going to put the world right. Oh, and through their refusal to use their true titles - Meghan and Harry Mountbatten Windsor.

Like I said before, I resonate with a lot of the things they bring up - in interviews, podcasts, etc.

A lot of my friends/family do too, because we've seen/experienced a lot of abuse based on our colour/religion/background in our life.

Your replies are becoming more and more suspect btw.

But who's actually telling you to read about them? Or listen to their podcast? Surely if you're done with them, and you're not happy that she spent that much on her wedding dress, you'd think you would just ignore anything about them?

If they're releasing info about how much money they get paid, then is this info being directly released to YOU? To your email? No, it's obviously not. So why you clicking on stuff to do with them?

sst1234 · 31/12/2020 20:57

@cruzrack, sure we get it. No one can ever express an opinion about Meghan because people like you start frothing at the mouth because of her race. Keep banging that drum, it won’t make the driven that those two produce any more interesting.

cruzrack · 31/12/2020 21:00

They'll be a lot of people on here, like me, who just come to have a read and agree with the things I'm saying, but won't say anything and that's fine. I'm always that person as well - shake my head and carry on with my life. Not like I haven't heard shit like this before. Little digs. The privilege. But today, reading all these comments bashing them has really got to me. I'm not staying on here for long, but just wanted to make sure some people read my comments.

cruzrack · 31/12/2020 21:02

Here we go...

Guess what, for people like me, it's just getting started. It's going to get a whole lot interesting actually! Obviously not for you. But that's cool, because you'll not be tuning in...right?!

Nestlyn · 31/12/2020 21:05

@zzizz

It is weird fucking behaviour for people who claim not to want media attention.
Yep.

Are they?
Or have you just realised that you're making a bit of a tit of yourself when it's been pointed out that you have used inappropriate language to describe people of colour and that we don't all speak one language? And that two over privileged, hypocritical dimwits don't actually represent that many people, of any colour, around the globe? But sure, my responses are 'suspect'.

For anyone who has half an eye on the news, it is impossible to avoid their latest utterances! I do tend to ignore now though.

I think Meghan is a very focused and driven woman, who saw Harry and realised he held the door to world wide fame/celebrity. And fair play to her, she's achieved that. She is globally known - and I imagine she doesn't care whether or not she's spoken about positively or negatively as long as she's being talked about.

The issue that I do have with both of them is that they are living in a multi million $ mansion, with staff, PR, media reps, and security - paid for by the British Royal Family. And if I'm being really honest, I think they are tainting the "firm" with their agenda to make money from their Royal connections. So for that reason alone, I've only listened to clips of their podcast, and it was fairly vomit worthy. I mean WTF is "humane technology"??? - a PC that doesn't crash or update when you're trying to work??? If so, sign me up!

knmeye01 · 31/12/2020 21:49

Question: What did the podcast say about what Archwell is going to do? After all the business about 'creating content that unlocks action' I'd like to know what the action is.

Answer: They are advertising themselves as laxatives. It's ingenious because I believe it's already working.

I really can't help responding to this:
  1. You imagine she doesn't care if she's spoken about positively/negatively, but she's been on a documentary saying how badly it's affected her. She's been on a podcast with young people and told them how much it affected her. I bet you know about both of these examples, but still choose to believe "she doesn't care". Just shows, she could shout about it on the rooftops and still be ignored by people like you.

  2. Do you believe Kate went for William in the same way you describe Meghan did for Harry?

  3. How do you know the Royal family pay for all their shit?

  4. You sound so offended by not knowing the meaning of "humane technology". Ermm a quick google search will tell you:

The humane tech movement is a growing initiative dedicated to aligning technology to human needs rather than exploiting human vulnerabilities for profit, as has too often been the model in the past. Humane technology is designed to be socially responsible, providing benefits for users and society without causing commonly-observed negative effects such as information overload and promotion of discord, extremism and disinformation.

That was easy now wasn't it? All you had to do was google it. Not that hard. Don't worry, Meghan or Harry didn't make up the phrase - it's a real "thing". Quite commonly used actually. Sorry it's not in your world. Just because it's not known in your world, suddenly it's a "WTF is this?" attitude. That's pure arrogance. Add this to a list of new things you've learnt today.

SomeoneInTheLaaaaaounge · 31/12/2020 21:58

Time for the royal family to fuck the fuck off.

So deluded without a brain cell between them. If it’s not one of them driving a diesel Land Rover lecturing me about climate change it’s another one telling me not to fly and using a private jet.

You see the problem with having a monarchy are made worse when they try and lecture us on morality when there are people queuing up for food banks. Doesn’t stack up!

The whole royalty thing has turned into a piss take and now some congenital moron wants to lecture me on society and ethics. Pull the other one it’s got bells on it Harry mate.

Meghan is an actress no better or worse than any other reality TV star. Similarly unqualified and incapable of offering very much decent thinking or opinion. I wouldn’t take lecture from Meghan, the GC nor from anyone whose been on Love Island. Unless it was a class on how to get on the telly.
