To have found Harry&Meghans NY podcast quite uplifting

(And it was v cute to hear Archie speaking also)

Just that really. Yes there was some cheesy bits with some speaker talk of “nourishment” (cringe) by reading children’s books, but most of it was good and positive. Nice mix of contributors. Well done Harry & Meghan.

I think interest will slowly dwindle away, normally threads like these would fill up quickly but people are losing interest in them now.

Proudboomer · 31/12/2020 00:41

Back in the day good old fergie was the rent a royal now you have Harry and Meghan.
Royalty only has value when it is elusive and exclusive. When you can pay per view it is no long as desirable. COVID has squashed the diner speaker gig for them so now we have podcasts with no real content as they are completely detached from real people’s reality.

BluePeterVag · 31/12/2020 00:48

I had an email from Spotify to announce this podcast drivel. I have no interest in listening to them. Everything I have heard them talk about needs “Parklife!” adding to it.
I can imagine Joanie “Nan” Taylor doing a piece on them, “ello darlin’, you sit there sweetheart, let’s hear what you gotta say.....” followed by •well.... what a load of old shit! They’ve got some nerve, preaching to the ordinary folk from their huge mansion. What a fucking liberty!”. Grin

Very pissed off these talentless twits have been given time on Spotify. There'd be hundreds of people who would have thrived with an opportunity like this. If I didn't like Spotify so much I'd cancel my subscription in protest.

And why are their titles being used for promotions?

MeanWeedratStew · 31/12/2020 01:32

Well, they are now finanvially independent, so they have to make a living somehow. I don't blame them for taking the offers on the table.

As to the "privacy" thing... They needed to get away from the British press who routinely smeared and abused Meghan, and the palace courtiers who fed the abuse. I don't think they mind media attention, just the sheer nastiness of the Daily Fail and their ilk. So Harry actually took action to protect his wife. Good for him. More than his father managed to do.

I can't believe some of you actually think H&M should have stuck around and accepted the abuse. That's just sadistic. Yes, they're royal, but they're still human beings with actual feelings.

HmmSureJan · 31/12/2020 01:38

They and their podcast are cheesy as Gorgonzola and they put their toddler on it to get clicks and listens. So much for guarding and protecting him from the evil media.

Leannethom85 · 31/12/2020 03:12

I find people like Katie piper and winnie Harlow uplifting. They've took negatives and turned them to positives. They are interesting people. I have no interest in either of the 2 you have mentioned as I don't identify myself with 2 rich privileged eejits going about doing do as I say not as I do I just don't have that gullibility in me sorry

Dongdingdong · 31/12/2020 07:11

he has a British accent rather than American.

Archie had a very definite American accent!

BalloonSlayer · 31/12/2020 07:26

To be fair, Archie's childhood is hugely less in the public eye than Haary's was, and that's all that Harry has to go by. He probably thinks he is doing a good job of keeping him out of the spotlight.

Also, if they keep him totally hidden people say he doesn't exist/never existed/insert other nonsense here so they can't win.

They're still getting loads of abuse though. But now they are monetising their situation. We need privacy but only when it suits us.
Skipsurvey · 31/12/2020 07:56

why is there no link?

notdaddycool · 31/12/2020 08:35

I have no intention of listening. I think it’s really sad how this has turned out. Going from wanting privacy to getting your son to speak for cash. It’s all a bit lame and pathetic. Did she have no idea what she was marrying into? A rushed marriage to someone from overseas who knew little of the reality of the duty and outlook of the royal family was far from ideal. I wonder deep down what Harry thinks, but his loyalty to his wife is admirable. So much more time for the Cambridges.

Also, if they keep him totally hidden people say he doesn't exist/never existed/insert other nonsense here so they can't win.

But they'd win the thing they claim is important - privacy.

People might talk, but who cares? Don't read it. Interest would fade.

Like I say, I grew up with my life broadcast to less than a fraction of 1% of the audience he now has, and I was recognised and approached in public by my mum's fans and disparagers. And if I told you my mum's name, you wouldn't even recognise it.

Plus I hated being wheeled out and dressed up for magazine features. Can't stand posing for photos now and wouldn't even have a photographer at my wedding because my childhood left me with an ingrained loathing of the breed (ironically we were pushed into more photos because my mum a) hated her picture being taken and b) didn't want her abusive ex seeing pictures of her - but didn't mind shoving her infant children front and centre).

I repeat - grim behaviour, and they can win by opting him out entirely. But I suspect they know that without showing him off less people will be interested.

(Lord knows why, if you're that interested in babies they're not exactly rare.)

OxfordwillsaveusbyFebruary · 31/12/2020 09:36

You are not the audience
It is very American for a USA audience

OxfordwillsaveusbyFebruary · 31/12/2020 09:36

Not when he said new
Dongdingdong · 31/12/2020 09:54

I have to say, I don’t really get the “point” of them now they’ve left the royal family. What are they trying to be or to achieve? They’re kind of famous for no reason at all now, but then I suppose you could say that about a lot of so-called “celebrities” these days. Despite all that I do really like Meghan - she’s clearly a smart woman.

Yamayo · 31/12/2020 09:58

There's a conspiracy going that it wasn't the real Archie speaking.
Apparently he sounded more like a 3 year old than a 19 month old toddler... Grin

custardbear · 31/12/2020 09:59

These two narcissistic embarrassments literally prostitute (non-sexual def) and screw every ounce of money the can from everyone and every situation they can. They find situations to trumpet about, make their greedy money off of these situations or people in bad situations, and bank it themselves, not giving at all, just taking from the situations they chose to envelop themselves in.

They've now starting doing so with their own child .... along with equality issues (MM is literally the epitome of non-feminist, marrying to get a hoof up the ladder), poor people, mental health, environmental issues they literally have ZERO respect for themselves, the royal family, war veterans, 'honours awards' - fuxking idiots!, Covid door-hopping from their luxury gas guzzling air conditioned thrones on wheels - all set up in front of their camera people so they can sell the shots and self-publicise off the back of all that they can - disgusting behaviour

I bloody hope the Queen cuts them off and bans them from prostituting them and the British public - I am ashamed of Harry, he's been manipulated and hoodwinked - bloody fool

Oh my fucking stars.

The crazies really flock to these two. It’s like the batshittery around Benedict Cumberbach’s wife.

CallmeAngelGabriel · 31/12/2020 10:11

Did anyone see Celebrity Mastermind the other night. I found it quite amusing that in the general knowledge round, the wonderful Miles Jupp was asked the name of Harry and Meghan's child.
He had absolutely no idea.
He went even higher in my estimation.

CherryBlossomPink · 31/12/2020 10:23

I didn’t have very strong feelings either way on these 2, however I can’t stand hypocrites so definitely have zero interest in watching/listening to anything they have produced. I supported their decision to want privacy and then stepping back from the Royal family to make their own life away from the media - it seems I was extremely naive not to realise they actually wanted the spotlight, not to play second fiddle to his brother!
I think we should respect their “wish for privacy”and completely ignore them.

HmmSureJan · 31/12/2020 10:43

You're not alone. Many people didn't realise and robustly defended them. Some of those just appear to struggle to acknowledge the BS factor now and prefer to label anyone who refers to it as odd, obsessive "haterz!"

This was always the plan and that doesn't bother me one whit. They don't care what the U.K. think of them - though H might in the future - it was always about cracking the US. I did think there was too much dislike and resentment for their plans to work but I am not sure now. They seem to be plodding steadily forward and making ground in the US which as I said was what actually mattered to them Meghan. I think they're probably going to do very well and good luck to them but it doesn't make anyone an obsessed hater to regard their antics with a cynical smirk and discuss the steps they're taking to get what they want.
