We are in tier 4 . I live beside a shared piece of grass . Neighbours are currently having a birthday bbq with 15 people , including 3 other households from our street , one from the next town . Help me calm down and put it in perspective .

At least they're not inside

PinkiOcelot · 29/12/2020 13:30

Why are you so angry? What purpose does your anger serve?

I get it’s annoying and they’re breaking the rules, but just let it go.

madcatladyforever · 29/12/2020 13:31

I'd call the police. people like this royally piss me off, they think the rules do not apply to them and this is why we are in tier 4 now.

EagleFlight · 29/12/2020 13:31

All you can do is control your behaviour and what you do.

TheQueef · 29/12/2020 13:31

Bet they're freezing.

Ilikewinter · 29/12/2020 13:31

Report them

OverTheRainbow88 · 29/12/2020 13:32

These threads make me so sad that it’s come to this.

Seriously, people being angry a kid is having an outdoor birthday with their neighbours?

Candyapple49 · 29/12/2020 13:32

I am a teacher and want the schools to open safely . My friend is a teacher who is critically ill with Covid . That’s why I am angry .

Calmandmeasured1 · 29/12/2020 13:33

Call the police.

AntiHop · 29/12/2020 13:34

I'm so fed up of people refusing to accept the mess we're in. I totally understand why someone would bend it break the rules when they feel they are at breaking point.

But a large get together? I'd call the police.

Carpedimum · 29/12/2020 13:35

Appalling behaviour. You won’t be the only neighbour who is incensed and I expect someone will call the police. I just can’t get my head around the blatant flouting of the law by some.

Candyapple49 · 29/12/2020 13:35

The kid is a man in his 50 s.

OP posts:
OverTheRainbow88 · 29/12/2020 13:35

But surely those kids could play together in a playground anyway as playgrounds are allowed?

I’m also a teacher who wants schools to open safely, I think much much much more is needed that stopping an outdoor birthday celebration.

Candyapple49 · 29/12/2020 13:36

He is a grown man . It’s not a kids party . A bbq with food and alcohol

OP posts:
OverTheRainbow88 · 29/12/2020 13:36

Oh I missed that it’s an adult 🤣 but still at least it’s outside

Might not be a child’s birthday.
Candyapple49 · 29/12/2020 13:37

They are all adults

Oops cross-posted overtherainbow sorry!

Brefugee · 29/12/2020 13:37

Either call the police or ignore it. Your anger will keep you warm but it won't solve anything.

00100001 · 29/12/2020 13:39

Well, are they keeping in their separate groups and apart?

Because if so, what's the problem?

HOkieCOkie · 29/12/2020 13:40

Good for them, life must go on.

WorraLiberty · 29/12/2020 13:42

Are they snogging each other or licking each other's faces?

Seriously though, either report or forget about it. Being angry won't solve anything.

stackemhigh · 29/12/2020 13:43

Maybe chanting this will help you with the anger:

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and wisdom to know the difference.

Belladonna12 · 29/12/2020 13:44

It depends on whether they are keeping to their separate households. If they are it isn't any different to the meeting in a park. I know there are three households rather than one but even so, it's not really going to increase the risk. I'm high risk and very careful but it's not something I can get worked up about. Concentrate on those meeting indoors as they are the ones who are increasing the spread.

Ilovenewyear · 29/12/2020 13:55

I feel awful saying it but I’d also report (ducks for cover).
Just because I’ve been stuck inside with my DC the whole of Christmas. Seen no one. Only gone outside for walks and the kids have moaned the entire time because they’re freezing. I’m fed up and this would piss me right off. So yeah. I’ve said it. I’d report them.
