Shakespeare would be dismayed at how we view "Romeo and Juliet" as high romance, when it was supposed to be a morality tale about the dangers of going against your parents, who knew better than you. That's the point. We don't teach them as romance or relationship guides. We read and teach them as stories, as literature.
