Celebrities daughters in their underwear

AIBU to think it's sadly pathetic that so many daughters of celebrities think it's a necessary step in life to raise their 'fame' by posing in their underwear - Jonathan Ross's daughter Honey being the latest.

OP posts:
LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 26/12/2020 17:56

Just had a nosey at her insta feed

😳🧐

Yeah she appears to have some serious self with issues. But she has appeared on a programme about body confidence.? Wouldn't want her as a role model for my daughter.

MrsBobDylan · 26/12/2020 17:56

What @satnighttakeaway said. It makes me yearn to go back to the p3 days where that sort of dehumanising shit was contained to a single page.

The Daily Mail runs multiple 'stories' every day about young women bursting out of tiny bikinis and it's so boring. I'm sure they are making a good living out of it but my fucking God it's dull for those not looking for wank-fodder.

WorraLiberty · 26/12/2020 17:56

It's their choice what they do with their bodies. It doesn't particularly interest me and I'm pretty sure I've seen sons of celebs doing the same or very similar.

But on the back of this thread I just looked at Google Images and Honey Ross doesn't just pose in her underwear. I saw at least one bikini shot and another in a shorts suit.

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 26/12/2020 17:56

Worth..bloody phone

blue25 · 26/12/2020 17:59

Honey looks like she has some serious MH issues. The picture she’s just posted in her knickers is really worrying in my view.

GroundAlmonds · 26/12/2020 18:00

@PishFood

I have been watching old reruns of JR, he was very disparaging towards anyone (celebs in the news) not looking great, not sure if he was negative towards his daughter’s weight/looks and it has turned her into a rebel.
He and his wife apparently tried to help their DD find healthy ways to lose weight when she was a teen and she expressed discomfort with her appearance. She has roasted them publicly for this so must have resented it. I think JR now knows to keep his mouth shut. It’s a bit hard to tell who is being most important unreasonable.

@PenguinIce

I really don’t get it, in one breath it is deemed that Zoo/Nuts magazine is dated and no longer have a place in society but at the same time it’s acceptable for people to bare all on social media. We really have not moved on from the 90s, it is still easy money for getting your tits out 🤷‍♀️
Agree. Strong encouragement for women to do so and if anyone suggests anything negative criticism as they are owning their sexuality/being body positive or some other tosh. I still think women are being manipulated to provide entertainment in their nudity?? This includes leering and mocking.

If we imagined men in the same photos we’d get a sense of how little has changed and how ridiculous it makes us

SapatSea · 26/12/2020 18:00

KB's father was the CEO of Swindown Town Football club so I think her football management career although financed by a pornographer at a young age was a publicity stunt and she had her father's know how for back up. Her Daughter clains that KB approves of her underwear photos. I think the daughter wants to model.

So many celeb kids want to be models, if they hadn't famous parents there is no way most of them would get any bookings, very ordinary (and often short). I'm always surprised by how many ex - models let their children model in their teens, given how brutal it can be and how many models report how they have eating disorders, are bullied, sexually harassed and criticised and take drugs.

BananaPop2020 · 26/12/2020 18:03

@SapatSea because so often, the children are are an extension of the parent and their narcissism.

She also poses stark bollock naked to be fair.

Yes, you only need to look at the Beckhams, particularly the eldest son.

cherrypie790 · 26/12/2020 18:05

I felt really sad seeing the photos of Honey in the DM today.

She clearly has MH issues; and needs professional help, not likes or trolling on social media. I'd be frantically worried being her parent. She doesn't look a happy person at all.

VinterKvinna · 26/12/2020 18:05

Honey looked incredible as she stood next to her pretty pink Christmas tree and showed off her sensational figure in her flattering underwear.

"Merry Crimbo from plague island," she captioned the photo.

The gorgeous model received plenty of comments from her pals and fans after she uploaded it to Instagram.

I had a google, as had no idea what this was about, and this was on one of the tabloids. Now, I know we can all take a crappy photo, myself more than anyone (2 stone overweight) but - this is not a flattering photo - her figure is not sensational. She's kind of normal really, she's girl next door, not ugly but not amazing.

In the photo underneath where she is with her dad, now there, she looks amazing, beautiful and naturally radiant.

BananaPop2020 · 26/12/2020 18:09

@Sparklingbrook the Beckham’s are absolutely prime examples of this, and are utterly shameless about it. That ridiculous photography book, the blow by blow account of the son’s engagement...just awful.

You are not wrong. Every time Brooklyn appears anywhere I am Hmm it's all so contrived.

gingganggooleywotsit · 26/12/2020 18:15

I agree op it’s really pathetic lots do it for the money though

gingganggooleywotsit · 26/12/2020 18:16

..even though they don’t need it..very sad considering most of them had a really good private education that has probably gone to waste. I can’t lie I would be really disappointed if my kid did this.

She is a body positive activist, who has been bullied since a child for being overweight. She’s also suffered a sexual assault which made her hate her body and has overcome that. She wants to train to be a psychiatrist.

Honey is part of feminist activist collective The Pink Protest, which is also run by Scarlett Curtis, daughter of screenwriter Richard Curtis, Grace Campbell, daughter of Alastair Campbell, and Alice Skinner, author of The Revolution Handbook.

Maybe look at why she’s ‘posing in her underwear’ before calling her pathetic

Youd be disappointed that your child is a body positive activist who over came a sexual assault and years of self loathing?
WorraLiberty · 26/12/2020 18:27

Pretty sure the PP meant she'd be disappointed in her child posing naked...

FraughtwithGin · 26/12/2020 18:27

Extremely distasteful.
However, nobody seems to value education or intelligence these days, so I suppose if that is "all you can do"...

Melange99 · 26/12/2020 18:29

Jonathan Ross has said that he is sure one of his children are autistic but was misdiagnosed as a child. Also to be kind to one of his children. I think he must have been referring to Honey. Although she proclaims to be body confident and defiant she has the saddest eyes. I don't think she does it for money but for validation and a sort of fuck you. (I find it quite amusing JR asking the public to be kind to his daughter. When he was egging Russell Brand on and publicly humiliating a previous girlfriend on air, that was somebody's daughter.)

Karren Brady writes books about females in business, is a judge on a business programme but her daughter is a Love Island vacuous wannabe. She clearly doesn't need the money. Her mum says she is cool with it but I would be bloody embarrassed and let down by her own daughter by taking this path. It's her choice, but she could do and be anything, the choices she has through her parents are immense but has chosen to pose half naked as a career. It's a bit yawn.

I hate this whole celebrity offspring trying to build careers on the backs of their celeb parents. Or Celeb parents shoving them forward. They are all at it. Chris Evans and his kids, Beckhams, Noel Gallacher's etc - there are loads.

ComDummings · 26/12/2020 18:34

Most celebrities are extremely narcissistic, you have to be to be in the public eye. So it’s not really surprising they’ll be raising narcissistic children who grow up and seek attention. An easy way of doing that it by stripping off I suppose.

AmberItsACertainty · 26/12/2020 18:34

I think it's part of life in general becoming pornified . Recently I saw on social media someone asking for opinions on lingerie shots, saying she likes other girls cute pics but feels somehow wrong, uncomfortable, shy about putting her own out there and that this was a problem for her. Seriously, she considers it a problem that she has ordinary intact boundaries about not putting what is essentially soft porn online. Unbelievable. The way she wrote it was like she wasn't even considering photos like that from a sexual angle, like it hadn't even crossed her mind that random strangers could be wanking over her pics. Nothing wrong with anyone doing whatever they like with their own body but it worries me that some people perhaps aren't thinking through the consequences of their actions.

ShirleyPhallus · 26/12/2020 18:36

Giovanna can’t get through Christmas Day without posting her kids on Instagram, Laura Whitmore can’t be pregnant without posting pics of her naked bump, John Legend’s wife posted every minutiae of her miscarriage. So much over sharing, it’s ridiculous.

Chrissy Teigen is a model in her own right rather than just being the wife of John Legend. Detailing a late miscarriage / still birth is totally different to z list celebs stripping off.
