This doesn't annoy me. I assumed it was for clarification purposes on a site that is predominantly female, especially when you can't immediately tell from some usernames what gender a poster is. So I sometimes find the clarification of gender useful as you're aware of the different perspective of the poster.

Alongside the 'take in ironing' for money struggles you get

'Just put it on / get a credit card'. What a brilliant idea! I can't afford food this week so I'm sure I'll get a credit card or use the one I have but won't be able to make the payments on.

Someone's already mentioned it, but it happened a few times on a recent thread about a DH not helping at all for the family Christmas. Several responses along the lines of 'm DH dealt with our new born all night then brought me breakfast in bed so I could have a lie-in. He brought me a new house, car and diamond collection for Christmas and then cooked Christmas dinner for my whole family before driving them all home in the evening so I could enjoy a glass of champers. I couldn't live like you.'
