Couple of friends posted this on Fb, in what way could it be a social experiment and why?

@1940s @Warsawa31 It's very easy to argue those facts. 50,000 people did not die from flu in 2018. It was less than half that.

@1940s but we've been in lockdown, mask wearing , social distancing etc all year so realistically only a small proportion of people have thus far been exposed. if you expose all 25% of the high risk population by now letting it be a free for all, then obviously the numbers are going to be significantly higher through covid alone.. never mind the many more people who will die of all other causes simply because they can't get treatment; as the hospitals are too full to deal with your standard heart attacks, strokes etc

I agree there's little difference anyone's gonna make but wondering about this stuff but suggesting there isn't an interesting conversation to have around those topics is pretty weird

I think we absolutely need to talk about it. What I meant is that there's going to be big trouble when sufficient numbers of people (who have been relatively unaffected by the virus) start to get disgruntled because persistent lockdowns have wrecked their lives beyond recognition.

Personally I think the balance tipped over some time ago and we now have more indirect covid-19 suffering than people we're trying to save from the virus itself.

This is almost exclusively because the government have failed to put anything meaningful in place.

We absolutely need to discuss what the greater good actually means.

Oh my God. The great reset. And a mysterious cabal -'they' - who want to control the world.

We can't even work out how to do Brexit four years after the referendum. Or fix migration across the channel or prevent terrorism but somehow people think a secret cabal is controlling the world. And Trump is going to save us all from paedophiles.

Ludicrous and gullible. We can't even get buses to run on time. Maybe governments are just as incompetent and at sea as they seem. And different countries and cultures don't share the same world view. Because people are complicated, awkward and different.

And Sweden's the control?
