Facebook Marketplace Annoyances. They are BU!

I like selling stuff on marketplace, it's great to make spare cash.

But. The most annoying things are:

'Bundle of girls clothes. Don't have time to take pics. Alongside pic of black rubbish bag'. Who would buy this?

'Don't want the money, just looking for penny's for daughters piggy bank'. Sure.

'No time wasters' as if someone is going to think, 'oh I would like to comment but better not as I'm a time waster'!

‘Needs gone asap’ - as if someone must buy the big black sack of random clothes immediately to ensure the seller can be free of it

fucksanta1 · 18/12/2020 23:41

Messeging...it's seen but no reply then a few days later listing says must go

naechunce · 18/12/2020 23:53

'Needs gone. No offers' Grin

ichundich · 18/12/2020 23:58

Bought by mistake. Only looking to get what I paid.

naechunce · 19/12/2020 00:02

@ichundich to save me returning

Needs gone infuriates me too. It is so bossy and as though a favour is owed

Throwntothewolves · 19/12/2020 00:08

I saw something advertised as £50 if gone by Friday. Someone asked how much it would be on Saturday Xmas Grin

Hate it when a bundle of clothes is just a full bin bag with no pictures!
naechunce · 19/12/2020 00:12

Needs an iron.... would take 2 minutes to iron something!

OP posts:
naechunce · 19/12/2020 00:13

@MrsGEW1 but they are far too busy to take pictures of the actual clothes!!!!

Cheeseandlobster · 19/12/2020 00:15

Brand new with tags. Bought last week. Yeah right love, its nicked obviously Hmm

IliveonCoffee · 19/12/2020 00:16

Needs a clean, 'Could do with a wipe' .... well then bloody wipe it. Makes me think they are hiding the real issue under the dirt.

Half the time, it could be a 2 min job. Whatever it is, it would probably look loads better and sell quicker!

@ichundich
And yes...bought by mistake... somehow unable to return....

I get suspicious of seeing the same people every other day posting clothes. New. Barely worn. Yet they have an odd selections of 8, 12 , 18...

naechunce · 19/12/2020 00:17

@Cheeseandlobster have 5 available.... hmmm that's not stolen is it?

40somethingJBJ · 19/12/2020 00:17

Messaging me when I’m selling something with’ “Is this still available?” then never hearing from them again after I reply yes. Had 18 of these messages for a tumble dryer I’m currently selling. Nobody has come back to me. Do they just need the reassurance that it’s still sat there, just in case they ever want one??

Oh, and arranging to pick something up abs not turning up. Especially when I’ve specifically said in the messages that it’s at my dad’s house, which I’m clearing, and I don’t live there, so have made a special journey to meet them.

naechunce · 19/12/2020 00:19

@IliveonCoffee omg yes! Needs a wash. Fucking wash it then!!!! I always try to make whatever I'm selling in the best condition I can!

naechunce · 19/12/2020 00:20

@40somethingJBJ SO annoying! I think you just need to offer it to the next person!

I never understand why everything is so expensive on my Fb marketplace. I never really buy stuff from it but I’ve sold quite a bit. People seem to try and sell stuff for not much less than they paid for it. I sold a coffee table we bought from Next about 10yrs ago. By sheer coincidence there was another exactly the same (very distinctive) on at the same time. Coffee table had cost £250. I was selling mine for £30 and the other one was on for £180!!! I sold my Bugaboo for £50 and there was lots on at £200. I can’t believe they ever sell.

naechunce · 19/12/2020 00:23

Also @40somethingJBJ , I saw a post this week from a youngish girl trying to clear her deceased mums house. People were like 'can you deliver' 'do you have a freezer' poor girl was about 20

OP posts:
naechunce · 19/12/2020 00:26

@NellyJames I sold my iCandy travel system for £50. A woman at work bought it from me. It probably cost us £600 + all in but people just not willing to pay for it second hand

Oh yes, I had a bloke offer me £30 for everything I was selling (tumble dryer/wardrobe/tv unit - all very little use and faulty new), because he was doing me a favour getting them out my way! Erm... fuck right off!
40somethingJBJ · 19/12/2020 00:28

Faulty? Damn phone! Practically new.

Osirus · 19/12/2020 00:29

Oh my god; this is the most annoying phrase on a sale ad.

Not only is the English terribly bad, but it’s basically demanding some poor soul removes your shit for you, and pays for the privilege.

jelly79 · 19/12/2020 00:29

I sold a wardrobe and the buyer didn't want to dismantle so they took it out whole. Scratched all down the walls in my hall and then blocked me am they left 😩

Onemorefortheroad · 19/12/2020 00:29

This thread has cheered me up 😂😂😂

'Needs a clean' and '£50 if collected tomorrow' are my personal favs.

Mangerfield · 19/12/2020 00:31

My pet hate is sellers making bundles all of loads of the same thing. 20 dribble bibs or 5 sun hats or 15 pairs of shorts or whatever. Just because you've collected up everything you don't need doesn't mean anyone else is looking for 10 of one thing - usually I'd be looking for a mix of types of clothes.
