Facebook Marketplace Annoyances. They are BU!

I like selling stuff on marketplace, it's great to make spare cash.

But. The most annoying things are:

'Bundle of girls clothes. Don't have time to take pics. Alongside pic of black rubbish bag'. Who would buy this?

'Don't want the money, just looking for penny's for daughters piggy bank'. Sure.

'No time wasters' as if someone is going to think, 'oh I would like to comment but better not as I'm a time waster'!

Someone was giving away planks of wood which I collected to turn into a planter. But the pieces weren't moldy and there were no nails in them!

I've made hundreds selling my DC stuff they no longer need. I have also lost the will to live on several occasions due to idiots.

If people mess me around I leave the group and block them. There was one in particular who always asked 'Is this still available?' But never responded to my follow up message. Fat fingers perhaps but blocked because I couldn't be bothered to keep replying.

I had a lady say 'too far, can you deliver?'

I said if it's too far for you then it's too far for me and blocked her. Daft twat.

Omg this!! I hate FB marketplace for selling things. We purchased a full bathroom of things (tub, shower, glass screen, taps, tiles, toilet etc) to do up our bathroom. Then found out I'm pregnant with twins so we are moving from our flat to a house so not wanting to spend several grand doing the bathroom up.

I listed the shower in FB marketplace and had a pain in the arse man so the whole 'where are you' 'oh that's far can your reduce the price if I collect now' err no! I explained it a £150 shower and couldn't go less than the list price £50.

Told DH who said he'd meet him at the door as I didn't trust him not to start bartering and DH the idiot took £10 less than the agreed price!! Apparently that was my fault 🙄.

I have been buying and selling online for years and fb market place is the only place I’ve been abused!

A few months ago I advertised my daughters’ dolls house for £30 and a bag of barbies and clothes for £10, I always deliver if the buyer is local as it means I avoid no-shows. I had the usual “is this still available” messages. I was contacted by someone who said she wanted the dolls house but she was a 45 minute drive, other side of the river, through the blackwall tunnel. I said no, she was too far but I could meet her at a garage a little closer (still a drive through the tunnel for me). No, she couldn’t do that. Okay, fair enough. In the meantime, I was contacted by someone who wanted the dolls for a special needs school she worked at. I offered her the dolls house for free, I was glad it would be going to a good home. I dropped the dolls and house off to her, at the school, the next day and marked the items as sold.
I was contacted by the original lady asking me why I had sold it as she wanted it and proceeded to call me all sorts of things. I did try to reply and explain (not sure why), but she had blocked me. She then used someone else’s account to message and continue to abuse me!! People are just weird!

I use Facebook marketplace all the time with mixed results . I was peeved however just prior to xmas. I usually get all mine and my sons books from a lovely charity shop locally and then when we are finished with them donate them back again. However due to lockdown charity shops were closed so we thought we sort them all out pop them on marketplace for peanuts and use the money to buy our next load of books when they opened again. We had accumulated some really nice sets which we grouped together, think all the David walliams , roald dahl, dinosaurs, etc . Nice current books, the rest which were individual we put in a big box. The plan was that when someone came to collect one of the bundles as we were avoiding close contact we would put the box of odd ones in the porch and offer them up for free to the buyers as a bonus. This worked lovely and one lady even sent me more money by paypal. However another lady tried to negotiate down the price which was already very low on a few of the sets which I eventually agreed to and messaged her to say about the books in porch for her kids if they wanted any. Now dont get me wrong once something is purchased its yours to do as you like but I was a bit peeved when an hour later they were all back on the site including the free ones priced at 95% more than I had asked. I messaged her with one line saying "Really ? Even the free ones? " She replied defensively saying she hadn't realised her child had got them all . Perhaps she needed the money , who knows . I just smiled and let it go .....

Someone on our local marketplace advertised a toy for free before Christmas - can't remember exactly but possibly a used playhouse? Insisted it go to a deserving family and then asked people to state their case for it (with a cut off date and time) and he would then decide who was the most deserving. Couldn't have been more patronising!

Had one that wouldn't tell me where she lived until a collection time had been agreed. The listing just gave the county, so when I collected depended on where it was as might have been near somewhere I was working.
She said she wouldn't tell me where (i.e. what town) she lived until a time was arranged as she was going on holiday next week and worried about security!
Well I only wanted a rough idea and also why tell me she was going away, I would have collected before she went away anyway so the security risk was no different.
I had already paid by PayPal so eventually asked her to refund me and find another buyer.
She then did give me the address but the item was filthy and not at all in excellent condition as described.
Think that's the only bad experience I've had - it was infuriating though!
