To worry about DS?

Ds was 1 last Friday and still no talking.

He doesn’t point to things, he was clapping and waving at around 7/8 months but has stopped. He doesn’t give you objects unless you hold your hand out to him.
He has been cruising since 9/10 months and can now take a few steps on his own. His eye contact is good and he’s always babbling. He will also copy behaviour like making noises with your hand and mouth but it seems once he’s found that he can do something he stops after a while. He’s very curious and is always playing.

I know not pointing etc is a sign of autism and I’m so worried.

He’s absolutely crazy haha!

However I think we’re in a regression as he’s woke up and wants to get the blocks out!

Hi OP. How's it going? Did you take DS to the nurser taster session?

sazzysazz337 · 26/12/2020 22:32

Hello everyone and Merry Christmas to those who celebrate! 🎅🏻

I took DS to his taster day and he was so happy so he’s starting there later on next month for one morning a week to ease him in.

My counselling was fast tracked and I’m having a phone call on the 4th January as my GP has said I’m somewhat “severe” on the health anxiety scale. He has come on leaps and bounds and his little voice is already changing. Gahhhh I’m not ready for this where has my 6lb baby gone?!

I was told stuff like this is totaly 'normal' development, that some kids basically prioritise the things they prefer, which makes sense really. DD was a late talker, however with hand/eye coordination and walking she was probably earlier than most. This was explained as she has decided hand/eye stuff and walking are more important, but that the talking thing will become a priority for her eventually, which it did. Oddly, she went from a few single words, to whole sentences overnight, so it almost seemed she was waiting to be able to have a convo, rather than just bable! Was really stramge.
