I'm a fully grown adult and I can't stomach egg Yolks, I can only eat the white part, I'm not scared of them and can be around them but he thought of eating one makes me feel sick.
Sat eating my dinner (ready meal because I'm having a lazy day) got half way through it and started to gag and then I threw up a little bit, I was sweating and breathing harder!
Just looked at what's in it and it's spaghetti Carbonara , made with egg yolks!
It can't be mind over matter as I didn't know eggs were in it Confused
I also I can cook eggs for people, I just can't eat them.
Anyone else have weird phobia type things or is it just me!

Cracks in a desert floor or dry river bed. Very weird, very strange but I just cannot look at them or even pictures of it. Makes my skin crawl.

tulippa · 11/12/2020 16:21

Wigs. They make me feel sick if they're just lying around and I don't want to go near them. I definitely couldn't wear one.
Chalk on a blackboard and people rubbing their dry hands together - it's like the dryness just goes through me.
And yes to the PPs who've said wooden lolly sticks and sugar paper. See also wooden chopping boards and wooden spoons. I have to grip them really tightly so I can't feel them when I use them. Can't use wooden chopping boards at all as can't stand the feeling when the knife makes contact. I get the same feeling with paper straws and wooden cutlery. I had a nightmare once at a two day conference as they didn't have any other cutlery. I was very hungry when I got home!
And I'm with OP about egg yolk. It's just bleurgh!
I think I have issues. Blush

Cocolapew · 11/12/2020 16:23

Urgh wooden lolly sticks, I'm with you on that one.
I also cannot abide seeing or hearing anyone brush their teeth, if it happens in a tv programme, which it does regularly Hmm I have to close my eyes and hum with my fingers in my ears.

tulippa · 11/12/2020 16:24

@SpacePug DH can't stand touching coins. He gets worse the lower the denomination! He has issues with small metals objects: sequins, jewellery, medals etc.

RedRec · 11/12/2020 16:25

Holes. Used to dream about clusters of holes on the backs of my hands and have had the revulsion ever since. Trypophobia.

Jennygentle · 11/12/2020 16:27

Not sure if it’s a phobia but seeing someone brush their teeth revolts me.
I’m horrified by even the idea of huge things (like shipwreck) in very deep water.

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 11/12/2020 16:31

Bees, wasps, hornets 🐝 etc. I now have one of those battery operated bug zapper rackets and that's helped.

WHAT! WHERE? I want one, where can I get one of these!

Bees are okay. Waspy things you cannot get away from. The malevolent, aggressive little fuckers even follow you if you run away. It's the intrusiveness I can't stand, not the fact that they carry a sting. Bees are non-aggressive and don't harangue.

I've been cold sweat, gooseflesh and paralysing, irrational fear around wasps for as long as I can remember. It's embarrassing in a grown woman my age. I really envy people who can just waft them away and get on with their day without even thinking about it.

Want. Zapper.

Peachbubble · 11/12/2020 16:38

Radiators! White ones covered in with rust, food, dust etc. Worst ones are those right by a toilet - bleurghh!!!

BrumBoo · 11/12/2020 16:46

Feet. Especially bare feet touching me. I cant touch even socked feet, turns my stomach. People wiggling their toes makes me ill, especially if they have especially long ones. Hate summer when everyone's out in bloody flip-flops, they could be naked and I'd cringe less than seeing people's trotters out. Not sure if it's actually a phobia, but it's definitely a revolting feeling.

Slavetominidictator · 11/12/2020 16:49

Cats. Am genuinely phobic of them.... I couldn't touch one ever. I find them absolutely horrifying. People think I mean I don't like them. I don't mean that, in fact, the only thing worse than just a cat is an injured cat, so I don't wish them any harm. But I do start to sweat and feel nauseous at the sight of them and cannot manage being anywhere near one. I have no other phobias at all and am not squeamish. Just absolutely cannot tolerate cats.

pooopypants · 11/12/2020 16:54

Wet wool / yarn

Clowns / dolls

Wet socks make me heave

Mrsjayy · 11/12/2020 16:58

My Dad is really scared of Cats when we had ours we had to lock her away or put her out if he was visiting.

redcuppy · 11/12/2020 17:01

Polystyrene, the sound, the feel, I will scream. Similar feeling when doing DIY an DH starts hand-sanding anything 😬

Big parasols over tables when it's a bit windy make my tummy flip.

Raw tomatoes and egg yolks make me gag and freak out a bit! But I'm also funny with a few food temperatures and other textures. I also have OCD (patterns, thoughts) so there's other things, but they're related to that.

Spelunking · 11/12/2020 17:03

@CuntyMcBollocks

I can't stand sunflowers - especially the massive ones with huge, bloated middles and small petals. They freak me right out. Also, I can't stand the moon when its massive and it's even worse when its massive and yellow. Bleurgh!!
I absolutely hate sunflowers too. They freak me out. I always feel like they’re going to bend over and suck me up into another dimension. Same as rhubarb leaves. Also flowers like foxgloves (?). I put the rhubarb and foxgloves down to being told as a little kid that they were poisonous. The sunflowers are probably down to a male neighbour that had sunflowers on his front garden. My mum used to tell me not to go to talk to him when my friend that lived next door to him did.
Spelunking · 11/12/2020 17:05

Also feet as well. 🤮

CorianderQueen · 11/12/2020 17:06

Fainting.

Sometimes I'm so scared of fainting that I faint. It's a rather vicious cycle.

Mrsjayy · 11/12/2020 17:06

Tbf feet are rank Envy

Mrsjayy · 11/12/2020 17:07

oh coriander queen Sad

Finewine76 · 11/12/2020 17:10

Circles or patterns like spaghetti hoops stuck to side of tin, or crumpet hand and feet! omg my stomach!

CharlotteRose90 · 11/12/2020 17:10

People popping balloons. I absolutely can’t stand it 🤣

Hairy feet 🤢🤢. My ex could never have bare feet in front of me

Oo on the egg thing I can only eat the yellow yolk the white stuff no chance reminds me of slugs

CorianderQueen · 11/12/2020 17:11

Yeah it's not been fun @Mrsjayy I've had it since I was 4. Passed out more times than I can count and every time the fear gets worse.

Luckily, I am on a list for a psychologist as it is affecting my life at this point and I'm worried about being pregnant or having children and fainting and them getting hurt somehow.

That's trypophobia
Limosa · 11/12/2020 17:12

People. My only phobia unfortunately I wish I had one of the funny ones.

My toddler has a phobia of snails though, she does a proper full body shudder of horror if she sees one. I think it comes from her sticking her finger in one when she was younger.

Mrsjayy · 11/12/2020 17:18

Goodness me that is such a shame . I used to be a nursery nurse and worked with a few pre schoolers who used to pass out when upset but they usually grow out of it, I hope you can get to the bottom of it.

PolloDePrimavera · 11/12/2020 17:20

Water towers and the underneath of big ships or even worse, tankers gaaaaaaah!
