I'm a fully grown adult and I can't stomach egg Yolks, I can only eat the white part, I'm not scared of them and can be around them but he thought of eating one makes me feel sick.
Sat eating my dinner (ready meal because I'm having a lazy day) got half way through it and started to gag and then I threw up a little bit, I was sweating and breathing harder!
Just looked at what's in it and it's spaghetti Carbonara , made with egg yolks!
It can't be mind over matter as I didn't know eggs were in it Confused
I also I can cook eggs for people, I just can't eat them.
Anyone else have weird phobia type things or is it just me!

I can’t bear polystyrene! Even looking at it makes all my hairs stand on end Grin

MillieVanilla · 11/12/2020 13:58

Peas and beans.
On a school trip we stayed in a hotel that was like something from a horror film. We were only 11 and for most of us it was the first time away from home.
The lady who ran the hotel was horrid and she put food on the plate even if you said no to it and then she would make you feel bloody awful for refusing to eat it. In the end, after the third night of it, a boy sat next to me was violently sick across the table and so I've never been able to stomach even looking at peas or beans since.

Clusters of things like fungi on tree bark or barnacles on whales 🤢
I saw a photo of a hedgehog with white ticks on it years ago and threw up Blush
Holes send me a bit loopy too.

crazycatbaby · 11/12/2020 14:03

@Cocolapew the hedgehog sounds like a thing of nightmares and I'm at work feeling a bit sick now 🤮for me it's clusters of things, scales etc. Those logs that people like to stick pennies in 😩

Cocolapew · 11/12/2020 14:14

It still haunts my dreams crazycatbaby 🙈

Holothane · 11/12/2020 14:28

Balloons that squeak if some one is blowing one up I run

DieCryHate · 11/12/2020 14:29

Sugar paper. I get covered in goose pimples looking at it or having to touch it and it makes me feel disgusting.

MissConductUS · 11/12/2020 14:32

Bees, wasps, hornets 🐝 etc. I now have one of those battery operated bug zapper rackets and that's helped.

JovialNickname · 11/12/2020 14:32

Baked beans. The sight of even the tin makes me gag. Someone for a hilarious prank wrapped a tin up for me for Christmas, and I threw up on the carpet when I opened it. It was their house though which served them bloody right Grin

FreezerBird · 11/12/2020 14:40

Wolves.

I blame early exposure to the Brothers Grimm, the Box of Delights, and the Wolves of Willoughby Chase.

I love wildlife, not freaked out by predators in general, and am quite interested in rewilding but wolves can fuck off.

Brainwave89 · 11/12/2020 14:50

Dentists... It is the sound of the drill. The dentist did not freeze my tooth properly and carried on drilling regardless of my screams. Ever since I have been terrified.

Voyager54 · 11/12/2020 14:52

@Luckyrabbitsfoot I agree Tomato ketchup baked beans Branston pickle or Pan Yan Pickle.

Followed by any sort of cheese, garlic, brown sauce eughh...

@Mrsjayy

An intolerance can definitely make you like that yes and if you have been sick as a child even the sight can make you feel queasy( I think)
I agree, with @Mrsjayy this sounds more like an intolerance. But obviously we cannot diagnose you over the Internet 😀 ... I have an intolerance and it makes me feel sick, I get hot and sweat.

A ‘phobia ‘ as I understand it, is an anxiety related condition which can cause people to feel extreme anxiety symptoms related to the ‘thing’ they are phobic about. It’s neither funny or strange, it’s a real condition ( fight or flight reaction) and can affect people’s everyday lives if that phobia is of something they have to use or see everyday. I met someone recently who has a phobia of buttons, they said they felt their heart pounding, sweaty palms, wanted to run away etc, they needed treatment / counselling to help them....I cannot imagine how they have gone through school and work with that phobia. I think we don’t take this type of thing seriously enough and it is something that is often joked about. Anyway OP I hope you find out what it is maybe ask your GP if they can refer to any intolerance / allergy testing?

Almostslimjim · 11/12/2020 15:24

The kids food. I have no idea why - it is EXACTLY the same food as I have on my plate, but once it is on the children's plate I cannot touch it or really look at it. And when it is on their hand Oh My God! I almost retch cleaning them up!

Songsofexperience · 11/12/2020 15:33

Jellyfish. It's very annoying though as I love the sea and surfing. I always wonder if there's a big one lurking nearby brrr. They really freak me out.

singingsoprano · 11/12/2020 15:54

I have Koumpounophobia -fear of buttons, especially small round cream/white ones.

Heartbeat3 · 11/12/2020 16:01

Wooden lolly ice sticks

Wooden lolly ice sticks
I just gritted my teeth and got full body shivers as I read this 🤢
Neron · 11/12/2020 16:05

Belly buttons

jammyredroo · 11/12/2020 16:08

Raw chicken. Especially chicken breasts make me feel queasy. I can't stand the feel of it or the look of it.

FizzyPink · 11/12/2020 16:08

Vomit. I’d love to be able to get over it as it affects my life quite a lot but nothing I’ve tried has worked so far

AliceMadHatter · 11/12/2020 16:08

@Cocolapew

Me too - Trypophobia
Dinosauratemydaffodils · 11/12/2020 16:11

Adam's apples. Can't stand the look or feel of them.
Visible sweat as in dripping on someone/wet shirt etc.

CuntyMcBollocks · 11/12/2020 16:14

I can't stand sunflowers - especially the massive ones with huge, bloated middles and small petals. They freak me right out. Also, I can't stand the moon when its massive and it's even worse when its massive and yellow. Bleurgh!!

SpacePug · 11/12/2020 16:15

I'm scared of fish. Well being in the water with a fish, I would die. I was in Florida swimming in these lazy river type pools and had a panic attack (my first and only) because I started to think there are fish in there. There is a snorkeling pool bit with tropical fish you can swim with there too which is what gave me the thought. Was awful. The thought that a fish would touch me in the water or worse swim inside my swimsuit 😩

My other fear (though not a full on phobia like fish) is, strangely, money. Like 2p, 20p etc (can't say their name..begins with c....makes me feel sick 🤢)
I used to only hold it over my sleeves as a child, as an adult I work at a supermarket so I have no choice but to touch when on the till. (I sanitise a lot) i can't pick it up if it drops on the floor though, that freaks me out. Or if they are dirty. Ugh it makes me feel sick thinking about it
