OH thinks I'm a nutcase 😂

But in my defence...It's so pretty! It's from not on the high street.

Normally I'd buy from a normal shop but all the sets have been a bit rubbish this year and i have this weird thing where there has to be a colour scheme (I know I'm a lunatic)

This isn't for DD present by the way. She wouldn't give a shit if I wrapped them in tin foil 😅

This is for family presents.

If you can easily afford it and it makes you and the recipient happy then why not?
Although I wouldn't be sure the recipient cared either way.

Lougle · 10/12/2020 13:09

What can I say? Yes, but your choice.

Nottherealslimshady · 10/12/2020 13:09

I spent a quid and it covered all family presents and dog presents. At least 40. Spent another quid on DHs nicer paper. And its recyclable.
I would streak naked down the highstreet before spending 45 quid on, essentially, literal rubbish, it's a pure waste produce and will be looked at for a second then binned. Sorry Confused

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 10/12/2020 13:09

Tinysongstress, I'm positive they don't 😅

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 10/12/2020 13:10

Oooh can we have a peek at the wrapping paper

Sirzy · 10/12/2020 13:11

Seems a lot to spend on something that will go straight into the bin!

MustardMitt · 10/12/2020 13:12

I wouldn’t but there’s clearly a market for it! I prefer the cheapest paper possible - it reminds me of when I was a child, getting presents from my grandparents Smile

cctvrec · 10/12/2020 13:12

Well if you can afford it, do it. There are certain things in life I like to splash out on. Personally I like to do candy canes with fancy tags with candy cane striped ribbon for my children's classmates over a bumper pack of mini Christmas cards. They get awfully excited getting those.
A beautifully wrapped, fancy looking gift would be very welcome by anyone. The extra effort shows and people appreciate that. That said, they also appreciate badly wrapped gifts too.

AfterSchoolWorry · 10/12/2020 13:12

I didn't know that was possible!

I spent &15 on two fancy boxes yesterday though. I thought that was extravagant! 😝

CuteOrangeElephant · 10/12/2020 13:12

We can't judge this without a link to the paper in question!

Dee1975 · 10/12/2020 13:12

I haven’t voted because it depends if you can afford it or not? I love receiving a nicely wrapped gift. However, if the paper cost more than the present that it’s a bit pointless!!
I couldn’t justify £45 on wrapping paper. But if you can, who not? As long as you can afford for £45 to be put straight into the bin ....!

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 10/12/2020 13:13

Brogues im afriad that would take all of the fun out of wrapping christmas presents.

It's my favourite job of the year 🤷‍♀️

weightedpunch · 10/12/2020 13:14

£45 is a lot of money for me so I couldn't, but if you can afford and it makes you happy then go for it 😊

Brogues · 10/12/2020 13:14

Well it’s £45 you are spending on yourself and giving you much pleasure so go for it Grin

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 10/12/2020 13:17

Posting the paper would be outing though (if anyone gave a shit which im sure they don't!)

But it's from NOTHS and it's dark blue with a galaxy print on it.
Will be finished with white raffia ribbon, white star gift tags and white pine cones (Yes really! But these didn't cost anything as we collected them from local woods...well, the spray paint cost a few quid)

Fourty...five...pounds. On wrapping paper?!!!

I can’t get my head around it.

I thought paying £10 for one particular roll one year was expensive

If you can afford it, go for it. It’s your money but I couldn’t do it

UglyHoose · 10/12/2020 13:21

This year I think anything that makes people happy is good.

Can you post a link please OP?

Kapalika · 10/12/2020 13:21

Link?! I’d love to see the paper!

Brighterthansunflowers · 10/12/2020 13:22

Absolutely batshit crazy!

I’m all for spending what you can afford on stuff that makes you happy, but £45 on wrapping paper which will be enjoyed for two minutes then thrown away is ridiculous

Porcupineinwaiting · 10/12/2020 13:22

I've started paying more for wrapping paper to get nicer stuff without the added plastics but £45 would be too much for me. As long as the paper isnt worth more than the gift it wraps I dont see a problem though.
