DH was away on business last week, and a person from his office asked him to buy a particular cake for them. Why DH didnt think "flippin heck that cake is expensive!" and ring the woman , I dont know!!!! Anyway DH bought the thing, but the woman has said she wasnt expecting it to cost that much, and doesnt want it! So we are now left with this cake, which is expensive and do not know what to do with it! I know some of you will say eat it, but to be honest we are not great cake eaters!

So is there anyone out there that would like to buy an expensive cake, its a chocolate torte!

i cannot believe that his woman thinks it is acceptable behviour!!!! I canot get over it! If she cannot pay then she should ofer to pay half this month half next, the stupid silly cow!!!

She simply HAS to pay for it!!! no way our if it. you tell her if DH wont. ring her up, say to her, I've got your cake here, Dh must have forgotten to give it to you. when shall I bring it to you?

see what she says... bet she wont bat her poor eyelashes at you!

if she say the same, say " look lady, cough up the cash, or you will be doing more than coughing on this cake when i ram it down your throat... "

or is that a bit too much?

Trouble is I am just as soft as he is and hate confrontation, so know exactly where he is coming from! Would love to be more confident - just not!

Have to admit, when posting this I was just a tad worried that this woman posted on here and recognised it!

I think as your dh is away you should drop it around to the office for her, as your dh "must have forgotten" to give it to her. Say, "have you already paid dh or would you rather pay me now". And make sure that there are lots of witnesses standing around.

It's a lot of money for a cake, but that's hardly your dh's fault. She should cough up.

Sadly I do not know this womans name! DH works in a big American Company! Could be anyone in the factory.

Hmm, it is my Mum's birthday beginning of November. You are not in Scotland are you?

kindersurprise · 21/10/2007 22:39

lol, just checked, your DH was in Vienna. I thought for one second there that he was at the same meeting as my DH is Salzburg. He also works for a large American company

bran · 21/10/2007 22:40

Oh, he could do a company-wide email asking for best offers for the torte, explaining the circumstances but not naming names. It kills two birds with one stone, off-loading the cake and embarassing the silly woman.

pinkbubble · 21/10/2007 22:41

No, Kent!!!!

CarGirl · 21/10/2007 22:44

yes do a charity auction!!!! In the small print mention that you will take out a contribution towards the original cost!

pinkbubble · 21/10/2007 22:44

Oh so does mine!!! is it anything to do with Generators?

OP posts:
kindersurprise · 21/10/2007 22:44

oh, I like Bran's idea of a round robin email asking for offers. Name and shame I say.

kindersurprise · 21/10/2007 22:45

Not directly, more to do with building equipment but they do make generators too.

pinkbubble · 21/10/2007 22:45
