To expect the person that asked DH to buy a very expensive cake to pay him for it!

DH was away on business last week, and a person from his office asked him to buy a particular cake for them. Why DH didnt think "flippin heck that cake is expensive!" and ring the woman , I dont know!!!! Anyway DH bought the thing, but the woman has said she wasnt expecting it to cost that much, and doesnt want it! So we are now left with this cake, which is expensive and do not know what to do with it! I know some of you will say eat it, but to be honest we are not great cake eaters!

So is there anyone out there that would like to buy an expensive cake, its a chocolate torte!

force feed it to her then make her pay.
she is very unreasonable.

MaryAnnSingletomb · 21/10/2007 21:20

that is very naughty of the woman - she asked for it !

MingMingtheWonderPet · 21/10/2007 21:21

Go tell me, how much was it!

p.S. - I love choc torte - could you email it to me

MingMingtheWonderPet · 21/10/2007 21:22

And yes, woman is cheeky. i always try and avoid buying stuff for people when I am away, it often leads to trouble.

Hekate · 21/10/2007 21:23

Crikey. How much was it?

I'd be brutal with her, tbh. Here is your cake. You did not give me a budget. I bought what you asked. Pay me. (You can make it "Pay me Bitch" if you think you can get away with it)

pinkbubble · 21/10/2007 21:23

I think if it was me I would be so embarrassed that would pay for it and write it off to bad experience, and remember not to do it again!

DH did think about the price when he was buying it, but thought as woman had asked for that cake specifically she would know about the price!

pinkbubble · 21/10/2007 21:24

Shock
pinkbubble · 21/10/2007 21:25

and that was for the small one! I suppose it has come in a lovely wrapped up box and a nice bag!

MingMingtheWonderPet · 21/10/2007 21:25

That is a lot for a cake.

Surely it has not even got a long shelf life.

Must have been a real pain to carry home as well.

Hekate · 21/10/2007 21:25

£25 for a cake? Was it made by the Queen? Or barefooted temple virgins?

Make the dozy cow pay. She ordered the damn thing.

bunnyhunny · 21/10/2007 21:25

did the lady ask for a particular brand of the cake - like m&s finest organic fairtrade made by small trained kittens and served on a faberge egg?

spookthief · 21/10/2007 21:26

at £25, but even more [shcok] at the brass neck of someone who asked your dh to get her something and then when he does decides nah.....

Some people are just so weird. It's like they live in a parallel universe where basic manners and consideration for others is completely absent.

spookthief · 21/10/2007 21:28

And as I'm sure you're aware [shcok] can be translated as "give the man his money you cheeky mare"

RoyKinnear · 21/10/2007 21:31

is it a bettys sacher torte?

pinkbubble · 21/10/2007 21:31

It does not have a long shelf life date, sometime in the beginning of November. It is a kind of German cake I think, who knows I cant understand the wring on the bloody thing!

So cant even give it to someone as a Christmas present!

OP posts:
Hekate · 21/10/2007 21:32

either that, or it is our open mouths into which she can shovel this cake.

pinkbubble · 21/10/2007 21:34

its an original sacher torte from Hotel Sacher Wien!!!! If that means anything to you!

OP posts:
MaryAnnSingletomb · 21/10/2007 21:37

sacher torte is lovely ! I tried to make one once

MaryAnnSingletomb · 21/10/2007 21:37

sandwiched together with apricot jam

pinkbubble · 21/10/2007 21:40

So does anyone ancy buying it!!!!?????

OP posts:
bunnyhunny · 21/10/2007 21:40

how rude of her though - to ask someone to get something and then decide you don't want it.
Can you explain that it was bought specifically for her etc - guilt trip her into coughing up for it.
Otherwise I suppose you have to just treat it as a learning experience.

pinkbubble · 21/10/2007 21:40

That should read Fancy!!!!
