To expect the person that asked DH to buy a very expensive cake to pay him for it!

DH was away on business last week, and a person from his office asked him to buy a particular cake for them. Why DH didnt think "flippin heck that cake is expensive!" and ring the woman , I dont know!!!! Anyway DH bought the thing, but the woman has said she wasnt expecting it to cost that much, and doesnt want it! So we are now left with this cake, which is expensive and do not know what to do with it! I know some of you will say eat it, but to be honest we are not great cake eaters!

So is there anyone out there that would like to buy an expensive cake, its a chocolate torte!

yum -it will be sooooo nice (maybe we could all give some towards it and you could send to someone who could use a feast like OJ or MB)

RoyKinnear · 21/10/2007 21:46

do you take paypal?

PintaBlood · 21/10/2007 21:47

Would she have asked him to get her a red scarf. Then when he came back with it, in the wrong shade of red... woul she have said "no"??

I doubt it.

Didn't your dh just set it on her desk & hand her the receipt?? I would have done!

pinkbubble · 21/10/2007 21:48

Get him to take it into work and stage a coffee morning on her desk!!! Then thank her loudly

Lulumama · 21/10/2007 22:03

if she knew she wanted a proper , origional sacher torte, she would have known it was going to be serious money

damn well invoice her

cheeky madam

pinkbubble · 21/10/2007 22:03

Unfortunately, he is away again this week, (but you know that is a bloody good idea!) pity him being away!

OP posts:
pinkbubble · 21/10/2007 22:04

Konditor and Cook are pretty flash, (and yummy) and a whole 8" round cake comes in at about £19.00 with them, depending on type of cake

www.konditorandcook.com/

I guess that is comparable in price really

kindersurprise · 21/10/2007 22:11

DD just came back from Salzburg and brought me a mini Sachertorte. Yummy, do not know how much he paid though.

pinkbubble · 21/10/2007 22:12

oh, did look on Sacher torte website, but they didnt include prices! wonder why!

OP posts:
kindersurprise · 21/10/2007 22:13

Wow, just noted what DH paid for my piccolo Sachertorte

catsmother · 21/10/2007 22:14

I'd send her an email through the office email system asking for payment forthwith and reminding her that she very specifically asked DH to get that particular cake as a favour to her. He should state that in view of this, he cannot, and should not have to afford to take the hit.

Then I'd "accidentally" press "send to all" and embarrass the arrogant and unreasonable cow in front of all her colleagues.

pinkbubble · 21/10/2007 22:14

He got this one in Vienna, not sure on size as its all wrapped up, but woul say about a 7 inch!

OP posts:
pinkbubble · 21/10/2007 22:16

Just found the link, he paid 27.50 euros!

OP posts:
MingMingtheWonderPet · 21/10/2007 22:16

Is that a man's 7" ??!

pinkbubble · 21/10/2007 22:18

LOL I have no idea!!!!

kindersurprise · 21/10/2007 22:18

Very cheeky of the woman, she should have found out how expensive they are before asking him to get one.
