She’s 51 and looks like she’s in her 30s naturally, with no cosmetic intervention other than make up IMHO. How?!

I don't know why people are so amazed that a 51 year old woman can look great. Tess is hardly in her dotage!

SunsetBeetch · 07/12/2020 13:40

I have two colleagues, one 50 and one 51, and they don't have skin like the "Tess" in the made-up photo either. And they're just regular people.

Havenly · 07/12/2020 13:53

She looks great- but it's her job to look great. It is, rightly or wrongly, an integral part of being a TV presenter. She will have a higher salary than the average person and will spend a larger proportion of it on the necessary maintenance of her appearance. She will also receive free products and treatments galore.
She will have access to the best professionals-- hair, make-up, skincare, wardrobe, nutrition, exercise; and devote a lot of time and effort to looking good. She may or may not have had "work".. no idea ... but she looks fantastic and works hard for it.

withlotsoflove · 07/12/2020 14:17

Definitely agree that 50 isn’t old anymore. We aren’t expected ( or want) to just perm our hair into a barristers wig and relax in a pair of slacks!
We take way better care of ourselves these days... and the result is way younger looking people! Grin

PatriciaPeach I hadn't realised EDS made a difference. My daughter has hypermobility syndrome but I dislocate a lot, especially the knees and so does my Mum and people always comment how much younger we all look than we actually are. Both me and my Mum have had 'jesus christ were you still at school' type comments when we tell people our children's ages, which is fucking rude isn't it?

Its a disorder of the connective tissue ie collagen and some varieties mean you produce very thick collagen ie skin. Anyway, I do look young for my age and the comments are awful and so many people assume I've had plastic surgery and fillers when I haven't. They will literally ask me "What have you had done?" I often lie to strangers I won't meet again about my age because the reaction can be so embarrassing or they clearly think I'm lying.

I'm not saying that any of this relates to Tess Daley but some of the comments on here are awful, and people need to realise that not everyone ages quickly.

I used to work in a cosmetic surgery unit, and the aim for good surgeons is to make results look realistic. The best compliment they could get it for people NOT to ask their patients 'what they'd had done', because they wanted to provide results that could reasonably be attributed to natural beauty. You should NEVER be able to tell that someone has had botox for example. If you can, it's nowhere near subtle enough.

MrsGrindah · 07/12/2020 20:41

@LindaEllen In that case I hope Nicole Kidman’s kept the receipt!

Smallgoon · 07/12/2020 20:42

She doesn't look like she's in her 30s... she looks older than Claudia Winkleman who is in her 40s

Smallgoon · 07/12/2020 20:44

Also, she was rocking a trout pout in her earlier days and was often cited in gossip mags for being an example of bad lip fillers... So she's deffo not natural.

Pukkatea · 07/12/2020 20:48

I think her work is quite obvious? Her forehead is very shiny and doesn't crease when the rest of her face moves upwards. She's gorgeous but she looks highly botoxed to me.

beavisandbutthead · 07/12/2020 20:49

I attended an event and there was a GP on hand to do a consultation for fillers and botox. There were some B/C celebrities there too. Spoke to some their and they advised that most of them had been having botox etc since there 20s as the idea was to maintain what you had and not allow lines to appear. My consultation was interesting as I was told i needed botox to my forehead, fillers to my cheeks more botox somewhere else and then moved to my neck! Still havent joined them

Mrsjayy · 07/12/2020 20:57

There is girls that my DD went to school with have started getting Botox and fillers they are 22 Shock. These kids don't look like themselves.l just look like each other !

MrsWarleggan · 07/12/2020 21:16

@JauntyMcGinty

I'm so glad someone else said this!! Yes she is gorgeous, but God her presenting on Strictly makes me cringe... So over the top and disingenuous. Much prefer Claud 😊

MrsToothyBitch · 07/12/2020 21:16

She's actually a cyborg, that's why. I've actually seen her referred to as "Tessbot" before.

Combination of subtle cosmetic enhancers, diet, exercise, good genes & us mostly seeing her glammed up, probably. She looks fab.

Delatron · 07/12/2020 21:33

I think she looks great. Agree about the tight jawline. I think it’s hard not to show some sagging once you hit 50.

I need the name of her doctor! She lives near me so I wonder!
I think she’s had Botox, very subtle fillers and lots of peels, laser, radiotherapy etc. There’s lots out there if you have the ££.

CounsellorTroi · 08/12/2020 10:34

Now however, there is an automatic assumption that someone, especially TV celebrities, who look young for their age have had work done. So it is really self defeating.
meg70 · 09/12/2020 10:04

I had no idea she was that age, I thought she was in her 30s! Good for her whether it's natural or not, each to their own.

Mrsjayy · 09/12/2020 10:14

Did you really think she was in her 30s? She has been around on TV since the early 00s and co presenting strictly from 04 or 5.

IrmaFayLear · 09/12/2020 10:19

Agree that it is her job to look great, so every spare minute will be spent on hair, exercise, facials, procedures...

If your job is teacher/accountant/butcher/solicitor you will spend 8 hours plus every day doing that; a celebrity will spend that time on their appearance.

I found the link on page 1 to the article on what celebs would look like if they had aged naturally interesting. They all look like - without intervention - people of my age I know in real life.

There is a celebrity that I used to look like. I was actually often stopped in the street etc and told this. used to are sadly the operative words, because she now looks 20 years younger than I do Sad

meg70 · 09/12/2020 11:50

I don't watch much tv! I have seen a couple of series of strictly, so knew who she was and always liked her dresses (apart from the darn belts!) but didn't know she'd been around that long.

Mrsjayy · 09/12/2020 12:05

yeah decades!

Tellmetruth4 · 09/12/2020 13:57

She’s naturally beautiful but she has enhancements like her weave. Thick bouncy hair makes you look younger.
