Nope and I won’t be going anytime soon. I never go to the shops in December anyway, and will be online shopping until the vaccination

SunshineCake · 01/12/2020 19:01

All I need is red glitter gift tags, or red plain, but I can't face going out for one thing.

TimeForLunch · 01/12/2020 19:03

Yes, I will be. There isn't much else to do so I'll be making the most of whatever is open. Will treat myself to a coffee inside in the warm too as that is allowed in the tier I am in.

GabsAlot · 01/12/2020 19:03

if theres queues then n o dont waste space by just browsing

if its empy go in

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 01/12/2020 19:05

@somethinginyoureyes

I don't actually need anything as all my Xmas shopping is done. It's just for a browse really
Then YABU

FGS if you don't need to go, don't go!

Southwest12 · 01/12/2020 19:07

I'm dreading tomorrow. We've fifty percent less trains than we did have, so if everyone goes into town shopping they will be packed when we are trying to get home. We've no choice but to travel as our work is an essential service and can't close. I suspect I'll be doing a lot of passive aggressive muttering on the way home!

etopp · 01/12/2020 19:27

I have been to the shops every day since March, and will go again tomorrow.

So you won’t be wearing a face covering either. Wonderful.

Every day? What do you need to buy every day?
Ragwort · 01/12/2020 19:32

I hope people will be out shopping tomorrow, I manage a charity shop and have spent the day getting it ready, quite a few people were knocking on the door, asking to reserve items and generally wishing us well. We are in a small town and have lots of regular customers, I am looking forward to seeing them again. Smile.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 01/12/2020 19:32

@oneglassandpuzzled

I was going to browse our local bookshop tomorrow for something for my husband, a book bought on a whim, based on the cover and turning it over to read the blurb.

Think I’ll just browse Amazon again as MN shopping regulations preclude this.

Oh stop it

The OP asked - do you want people to lie to make you feel better?

OllysArmy · 01/12/2020 19:34

I am planning to visit my local independents, not tomorrow though as I’m working. I will be going in places where only 2-5 people can go in and if there are queues I won’t bother or will try again. I’d usually go to London once and the nearest bigger towns too fir the department stores and chains. Done half of my shopping online and will be doing the rest by this weekend.
I will have to go to the supermarket or send DH but will go out of peak hours.
What I really want to do is go to our local garden centre but so far the queue has not been less than an hours to get in, I am hoping that if people can go elsewhere it will go down.

Ellieboolou33 · 01/12/2020 19:41

I'm working tomorrow but plan to go Thursday, really dislike online shopping and there are some lovely independent gift shops I want to support.

MrsCremuel · 01/12/2020 19:42

I have a voucher I need to spend in a specific shop so will be going this week. Can get the stuff online from other shops but its beauty and spenny so want to use this specific one!

I have been shopping online but hate it, get choice paralysis and takes me bloody ages. As a result haven't bought much of late!

etopp · 01/12/2020 19:45

Essentials, @sparklingbrook

Little and often, then nothing gets wasted.

etopp · 01/12/2020 19:46

Oh, and @Ragwort, I am beyond excited at the prospect of charity shops re-opening. I have missed them more than any other shop!

I don't know why you'd put yourself Through it if you don't need to go!

Shops are manic, b&m, hime bargains.... will be worse when lockdown finishes.

I still need a few Xmas bits but I'm done with going to shops.
I'm 4 weeks off giving birth (maybe sooner), hate the masks, hate the people!
Anything else I'll be ordering online,

Yabu... Don't go!

Oh food? The OP is referring to the non essential shops opening back up tomorrow in some areas.

Non essential shops are open everywhere regardless of tier.

Yes I had to take the cat to the vets at 5.30 tonight, they are at the back of a chain pet shop, that shares a car park with B&M. As I drove in I was worried about getting a car park space it was heaving.

Thanks for that. I am in Tier 2 and just wanted to pre empt any snarkiness about other Tiers which I haven't looked at the rules of as I am not going to any of them!

Bit hard to drink coffee through a face mask.
