Oh god, yes, OP. Carrie Bradshaw is a really awful character. I absolutely adored SATC when it first aired and as someone in their early 20s at the time I loved CB and wanted to be just like her. In my late 20s I would regularly rewatch the full series and I still liked CB but started appreciating the other characters more than I had done originally. Then after those god awful films I didn't watch the series again until about 6 months ago (aged 39). My god, the show has dated badly. There are so many cringeworthy moments and outdated attitudes.
But the real surprise to me was how awful Carrie is. She really is the worst of the worst. And for someone so self-aware when it comes to other people's (mainly men's) attention she really is very unaware of her own actions and how they affect others.
I couldn't stand her when she hounded Natasha after she destroyed her marriage wanting forgiveness to make herself feel better.
Going through that guy's belongings to find out what was wrong with him was just crazy.
Cheating on Aiden and then after running into him again months down the line, forcing Miranda to go on a friendship date with Aiden and Steve, telling Miranda to take Steve and leave despite knowing Miranda didn't want to be alone with Steve, and then badgering Aiden to get back together with her and refusing to take no for an answer, throwing stones at his windows to get his attention. Eurgh. And then when she gets back with him, not wanting to give him any space in her apartment, not wanting to talk to him when she first gets home, over reacting about the ring and the wedding dress, inviting Big to Aiden's country shack. She's just the worst.
That awful way she eats that involves her tongue coming out really far and curling round and up to lick her top lip. It's so over the top and trying to be sexy.
The fact that she turns every conversation round to her.
The fact that she's a woman in her 30s acting like a woman in her early 20s with her attitudes towards money and spending excessively on clothes. And then expecting Charlotte to bail her out.
When she (woman in her 30s) meets the comic book store guy and goes all girlish with his parents "Yes Mrs Adams, no Mrs Adams" 🤮
The fact that Miranda needed support and help after having Brady and none of her friends would help her out. And CB actually leaving Miranda's apartment when she realised Miranda wasn't able to put 100% attention into CB and her problem because she was trying to feed her baby.
Honestly, I could spend all day listing what I hate about her. Such an unpleasant character.
