I can't stop myself - I don't even watch rugby as a rule! I've just seen Johnny Wilkinsons waxwork being lifted onto the spare plinth in Trafalgar Square and blokes singing 'Swing Low' at Waterloo and I'm a wreck!

The whole hype is gonna kill me by tomorrow night!

COME ON ENGLAND

I'll take your word for it Saltire!

helenhismadwife · 20/10/2007 22:44

ohhh yes love F1 and lewis is in a good position

karen999 · 20/10/2007 22:58

I know which position I would like Lewis to be in!!

helenhismadwife · 20/10/2007 23:00

prefer david Coulthard, Jonny Wilkinson, or Larry Dalaligou (sp) myself

ladymariner · 20/10/2007 23:10

So glad I came on here tonight, just watched the final and now my husband is fed up with my rantings about rubbish refs and aussie video judges who have waited 4 years to crap on us, so I came on here hoping to find sympathetic ears!!!
And for what it's worth, I'd have Simon Shaw in any position

bossybritches · 20/10/2007 23:20

Looking at the scrums I'd have any of those thighs in any position............

did I say that out loud!????

Passing copious bottles to drown sorrows.........sob!

expatinscotland · 20/10/2007 23:22

I'm pissed off at being subjected to this during BBC programming.

Sort of like when there was the big Scotland football match and the big English match and guess which one they showed?

I'm so glad S. Africa won.

ladymariner · 20/10/2007 23:23

I luuurrrrveeee Simon Shaw. And I hate rubbish refs who miss crossovers and knockons and obstructions.
But I luuuurrrve simon shaw.

ladymariner · 20/10/2007 23:25

And now I need to put the bottle down and apologise for forlorn ramblings.......

bossybritches · 20/10/2007 23:58

Noladymariner come back & ramble somemore!!!!

Minum · 21/10/2007 06:33

Woke up early and it felt like a kick in the stomach when I came to and all flooded back. How do I shake this off, we're going on holiday this afternoon, and I feel too gloomy to do anything. Its like those Portugese penalties - took weeks to get over them.

ladymariner · 21/10/2007 08:43

Sorry bossybritches, got waylaid as it were, else we could have merrily rambled a lot longer!!!
Things don't seem much brighter this morning though, do they?? dh was watching the "wendyball" last night after the rugby and I couldn't bring myself to watch it, not after all those real men running their hearts out, being so dignified in defeat, simon shaw........Oh, I'm off again!!!!!

littleNonSpecificHolidaylapin · 21/10/2007 09:27

But South Africa played well throughout the tournament they deserved their win.

I have a hangover, incidentally.

I have to say, I am much less depressed at losing to SA than I would have been if it had been to Australia...!

harleyweendemon · 21/10/2007 09:29

littleNonSpecificHolidaylapin · 21/10/2007 09:38

suey2 · 21/10/2007 09:50

sorry guys, sunday times photo clearly shows toe was in touch.
We shouldn't have made those unforced errors and their lineout was much better

AnnabelCaramel · 21/10/2007 09:51

I just hope my South African neighbours' headaches are proportional to the amount of noise they made last night

MrsCarrot · 21/10/2007 09:54

LOL Annabel - will you start hoovering very loudly?

Ds1 (9) cried and cried, haven't seen him like that for years.

AnnabelCaramel · 21/10/2007 09:58

Dh is looking at the property pages....he can't bring himself to talk to them again!

helenhismadwife · 21/10/2007 10:03

Im going to watch the DVD of 2003 to cheer myself up and hope Lewis has better luck this afternoon

littleNonSpecificHolidaylapin · 21/10/2007 10:36

suey2 - yes, I saw that still it makes me feel better to rant at the ref.

Anyway as Jonny said last night, sometimes these things go our way, sometimes against, it's the nature of the game
