Today I received a blood pressure monitor and some jars for making jam/chutney. Maybe the jam making will raise my blood pressure?

What have you received in error?

@MadisonAvenue

I was sent two Playstations (can’t remember which version) when I’d ordered one online from a high street store. I contacted the company and returned the extra one and was given a nice gift card for being honest.

A few weeks ago there was a bottle of flavoured vodka in my Tesco delivery.

When it was the wii Christmas I ordered 1 with games from Argos It was delivered. 2 days later another came

I took it back to the shop, they said they couldn't take it as it was online and there was no invoice note (it was in a Argos bag)

Wiis were sold out everywhere. The young lad working in the store offered to buy it from me but that didn't feel right as `I hadn't paid for it.

The Manager than came and agreed to take it back so that he could buy it (they couldn't get any stock- he worked there). They were going to call customer service in the morning to work out how to process it- I left my contact details in case there was an issue.

All good. I had returned the rogue item.

A week later I received a refund for the goods returned at the store.
I tried to call and explain but they didn't understand what had happened
I gave up.

I once ordered a tv stand from Argos and received a 50" tv

Imissmoominmama · 19/11/2020 21:13

Not delivered, but when we went to pick up our new kitchen from Ikea, we were given two of everything. We drove back (40 miles) with the extra kitchen, after we’d unpacked them and realised.

Didn’t get a thank you for our troubles; wished we’d kept it and sold it.

I ordered £250 of school uniform from M&S
It was delivered twice but charged once
I traipsed into town joined a massive queue

The assistant had graduated from the M&S school of charm and was rude. I explained the situation, handed it over I traipsed home. Nothing was put through a till.

I received a full refund on my card a few days later.
I didn't go back

About 5lbs of gourmet popcorn kernels. It wasn’t for me at all, the company said they’d pick it up, they never did. So after a while o made up bags and gave it to friends. I think I still have some in the cupboard too

I ordered a lovely candle holder £35. Got a call from the company advising that 2 mirrors had also been sent & would I let them know & they’d sort out returning. They had no idea how it happened.
No problem, mistakes happen. My order was to be delivered to work & when it arrived I took my box home, got husband to video me opening to ensure holder wasn’t broken & to record the mirrors. No mirrors in box, advised company, who said oh ok!
A week later reception call, I have a delivery. Wasn’t expecting anything so thought this would be the mirrors.
It was.
2 men delivering 2 of the biggest, heaviest mirrors I have seen (worth approx £500). I wouldn’t have had a wall big enough to hang even on of them on!!! They were lowering the first one down on a tailgate!!!! I rushed out shouting “stop”! 😂 I refused delivery! One was NOT happy the other understood when I explained!

MiniMum97 · 19/11/2020 22:43

I once got a bottle of baileys in a Tesco delivery when I was a student.

Years ago I got an extra bulk bag of compost from the garden centre I decided to be a good girl and let them know, they were a bit rude actually and told me to get it back to them, we don't drive and couldn't even lift it, so they had to come and pick it up - no thanks no apologies. After they came to collect it we decided to open the boxes with the 2 deck chairs we had also ordered, in each box there were 2 deck chairs so we got 2 free ones, due to their rudeness over the compost we decided not to say anything - still feel guilty when we use them, but DH says it's their fault for having a shitty attitude

Sangham · 20/11/2020 06:30

20 John West fish pasta lunch bowls.from Tesco. They went to a foodbank.Nobody seemed to know why we got them...no substitutes listed on the delivery..

Jgb12 · 20/11/2020 06:40

I ordered some pillows and a £400 printer turned up. I rang the company to get it sent back and they told me how sorry I was - I told them I think it’s the person expecting the printer you need to apologise to 🤣

We had a new kitchen delivered from a well known retailer a couple of years ago. The kitchen fitters called DH the one day to ask where we wanted the second dishwasher to be fitted. They had sent 2. We'd already made a complaint to the retailer about some lights they'd sold us, they washed their hands of the situation and couldn't care less. We didn't bother telling them about the duplicate dishwasher. Instructed the kitchen fitters to fit the better of the 2 and 6 months later sold the other one. Considering we had to pay out for new lights we ended up breaking even. Both packages had our name and address on so it must have been a cock in the warehouse.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 20/11/2020 07:43

I ordered a few mundane things from Tesco direct. A huge box arrived. Inside as well as my order was 2 packs of cot sheets in yellow and a huge black and white teddy which played music and did all sorts. I actually had a baby at the time and it would have all been really helpful to me as I didn’t have much money.

Because I’m honest I rang up Tesco and told them they’d sent me things I hadn’t ordered. They were so rude and said could I deliver them back to a store, I said no as we aren’t near a Tesco. So they begrudgingly said they’d get a courier to collect. I was disappointed I thought they might have let me keep the said items.

Then in my next order from Tesco when they sent the bits they’d missed of my order they sent an extra king size duvet. I rang up and told them they said I could keep the duvet. It was the most awful duvet ever. Total crap.

I still think of that box of nursery items, I should have kept my mouth shut.

sashh · 20/11/2020 09:15

Has anyone received a pork scratching advent calander?

I ordered one for my brother, but I mixed up the address, used the number of the house he is in now and the road he used to live on.

I thought about sending a post card to explain but it wasn't worth it, I just ordered another. I hope they were not Jewish, Muslim or vegetarians.

micaschist · 20/11/2020 14:27

I received a tablet computer I hadn't ordered from QVC. I contacted them and they get the courier to pick it up. I was imagining someone being very disappointed having received my Nails Inc order!
