Today I received a blood pressure monitor and some jars for making jam/chutney. Maybe the jam making will raise my blood pressure?

What have you received in error?

A gingerbread man, very sweet tbh but my little one was rather happy!

NotQuiteUsual · 18/11/2020 09:20

Annusol

IwishIwasyoda · 18/11/2020 09:23

a pair of Nike extra large mens jogging bottoms. Fits noone

Camphillgirl · 18/11/2020 09:25

I have never received anything in error. Currently waiting for some slippers from Marks and Spencer that I PAID FOR and they omitted to send with other items. There is a 25 minute wait on their phone line and no other way to contact them. No wonder they are looking wonky and posting bad financial reports.

DONT TRUST MARKS AND SPENCER ANY LONGER

I had ordered one box of ice lollies in my food shop for when the weekend was going to be really hot and I ended up getting 4 boxes of different kinds of ice lollies and a tub of ice cream! I told the delivery driver I didn’t order these but because of Covid he couldn’t take them back so I was allowed to keep them all!

Jokie · 18/11/2020 09:35

3 boxes of frozen dog food. We ordered one but they sent 3 of the wrong sort. We were told to keep it all but it was a massive faff as we didnt have the room in the freezer

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 18/11/2020 09:35

When DD was little I ordered her a scooter and got two delivered on separate days. I contacted the company and they said to give it to a charity, so I gave it to the local toy library.

We once got a loaf of Soreen in our supermarket delivery. DH dutifully ate it and when it was finished said "I didn't like that much, let's not order it again" even though I'd told him that it was an accidental inclusion on the day that it arrived.

Selfridges once sent me a Chloé handbag when I’d ordered wrapping paper

cardswapping · 18/11/2020 09:37

2 bottles of white wine with my Sainsbury's delivery. But I gave them back to the driver to return. I didn't want someone in trouble.

I have a very long list, just from the past few years. Here are the highlights.
A crystal growing kit & vape device arrived in a box of garden cushions ordered from Asda (they said keep or bin them)
A bag of someone else’s shopping from Ocado (the poor driver was sent back to collect it)
A Joseph Joseph toilet brush arrived with kitchen plastic items from Argos (they said keep it)
A 3 wholesale boxes of “gourmet” crisps from a hamper company for a similar address (never collected despite several promises) They were eventually given to the after school club.
A box cutter in a bag of shopping from Ocado (they collected the week after with the recycling carrier bags)
And my personal favourite:
144 5ft fluorescent lighting tubes arrived from Screwfix via pallet delivery. I’d ordered 12. They ummed and ahhed about picking them up for weeks then decided it wasn’t worth the cost of the goods Hmm
They were offered to a local business who collected them the same day.

I got a couple of random bags of groceries with my Tesco delivery. I didn't realise when I was unpacking as it was all bizarrely similar to things I'd ordered anyway. I phoned to let them know and they said to keep it, so that was a bit of a result!

On the flip side, I recently ordered football boot studs for DS from JD Sports and received a man's XXL hoodie. Thanks to JD Sports appalling customer (non)service, it took about a month and a PayPal claim to put right.

"One of those giant sports direct mugs"

Don't think anyone has ever paid for one of these

Floralfrenzy · 18/11/2020 09:42

Recently had a ball of wool delivered with my order of paper craft.

Many years ago I got half a pack of mentos with my book people order.

Mealworms for birds Confused in a Wilko order

RelaisBlu · 18/11/2020 09:46

A very beautiful Royal Doulton tea set. I immediately said to the delivery man, "This isn't mine, I didn't order it," but he refused to take it away, saying it wasn't his job and someone else would come for it. They never did, despite my ringing the shop to remind them numerous times. A lawyer friend told me that you are under no obligation to do anything under these circumstances and it they never come you can regard it as yours. That was 25 years ago and we still use it to this day Grin

2 purple yoga mats from China, arriving separately, 1 week apart.
I don't do yoga and hadn't ordered anything from China.

A condom wrapper inside the pocket of a 'new' dress I bought from eBay. Thankfully no sign of the condom itself.

A receipt from a petrol station dated 1996 inside the zipped pocket of an 'unused' bag I bought, also on eBay.

21 lemons from Tesco. Only ordered 2.

A second sheepskin rug

adogisforlife91 · 18/11/2020 09:49

I once received a second pair of trainers along with the pair I ordered (different size and different colour).

I was stumped. The Hermes guy said they had the exact same tracking codes so it was obviously an error and I should take both and keep quiet.

I sold the second pair which paid for the first!

MrsToothyBitch · 18/11/2020 09:52

At work: we ordered a soap dispenser- it arrived separately due to a stock issue. Our next 4 or so stationery orders all came with a soap dispenser! We weren't charged for them and got told to keep them.

I've never had a bumper bonus order but when I worked in retail people would occasionally bring in things they'd accidentally ordered double of or random extra items that showed up in their deliveries. Someone got to keep 3 toiletries sets and someone else got to keep mittens and a beanie because since they weren't paid for, I couldn't refund them and I had no way of putting it through the till & on to the stock system! Luckily it was never anything expensive like a tweed jacket.

chocolatepudandchocolatesauce · 18/11/2020 09:59

@Camphillgirl Try the M&S online chat, I've never had to wait.
Last year I got the topcashback deal where you bought a Lego advent calendar and got £25 cashback (full cost of the calendar). I ordered a Lego friends one which was only £20 but it still tracked at £25. They sent a star wars one. I contact Lego store who sent out a new Lego friends one and when I asked how i return the wrong one he said to keep it :)

Some toilet cleaner ‘bath bomb’ type things, they were so good I wish I could find them again. You just dropped them into the toilets they fizzed up and cleaned the whole bowl!

Okbye · 18/11/2020 10:01

When I was pregnant I bought a load of maternity clothes from New look however when my package arrived it was full of standard size 6-8 stuff (and I'm definitely not size 6-8! ). New look wernt very helpful either but that's another issue!

I did feel a bit sorry for the svelte petite girl receiving all my baggy maternity stuff 😄

Nail polish remover Confused

No one wears nail polish in this house. Though it did come in handy when my Nan let dd paint her bitten nails in a way to get her to stop biting them.

zebrapig · 18/11/2020 10:01

We had two iPads delivered from Vodaphone. Turned out someone had used DH's name and address as part of a scam, whereby the the scammers would call him and arrange a 'courier' to collect them, but then we'd be charged by Vodaphone. They didn't bet on the fact that DH never answers the phone to anyone he doesn't know and reported it to Vodaphone and the police. We got to keep both the iPads as they wouldn't collect them.

MrsExpo · 18/11/2020 10:05
