Today I received a blood pressure monitor and some jars for making jam/chutney. Maybe the jam making will raise my blood pressure?

What have you received in error?

Two christmas shops come to mind:

Asda, Christmas Eve. I was the last delivery. The driver handed me a bag of random produce and said it was unwanted subs etc and did I want them to save him taking them back. Everything in there from cream to veg.

Ocado, 2 days before Christmas and the driver gave me someone else's frozen bag. Only realised when I started unpacking. I had several tubs on Ben and Jerrys and other dessert type stuff. Messaged Ocado immediately in the hope he could come back but they just said 'Merry Christmas, enjoy it!'
I felt horribly guilty for whoever didn't get their ice cream though.

I tried out UberEats for order McDonald's the other week (very lazy as we're only a 5 minute drive away but never mind).

DP and I ordered a big mac meal each, plus 20 nuggets and some donuts.

They sent us three big mac meals.

It was honestly, hands down, the best day of my life.

And yes, we at the lot between us.

(This is possibly why I have 4st to lose).

Mynamenotaccepted · 18/11/2020 12:18

A pair of very expensive Doc Martens ladies boots. I couldn't keep them and they sent me a miniature boot memory stick. Honesty boast here ☺

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 18/11/2020 12:21

A few weeks ago, a delivery addressed to me, in a plain box, with no invoice or note inside, contained three pregnancy tests and three eyebrow gels. There’s absolutely no way of finding out where it was from or how to return.

SmellsLikeAHamsterCage · 18/11/2020 12:22

I ordered a pack of 24 loo rolls (we are a large family and my current pack was getting low- before anyone moans) and I was delivered 2 packs of 24 by mistake. This was just before the second lockdown when loo rolls started running out again.

Twice amazon has sent me earphones with my order of ovulation tests - the bins must be next to each other 🤔

One of my Tesco click and collect orders this year I randomly got 4 bottles of merlot (but no Nutella that I did actually want)

purplecorkheart · 18/11/2020 13:32

I ordered a pack of sanitary towels online. They sent me one pack that I ordered and 24 boxes of ones I hadn't. I refused delivery of the ones I had not ordered or paid for. They refunded me for them. After numerous hours on to their customer service department who had no idea how any of it happened they told me to keep the money to cover all the time on the phone.

littledrummergirl · 18/11/2020 13:41

I ordered a covid test kit for dd and was sent 3.

I ordered a black secondary school blazer for ds1 a few years ago from M&S and was sent a primary age, blue school summer dress.

GeorgiaGirl52 · 18/11/2020 17:11

A sports bra/t-shirt thing that said "Cardio Sux" when I had ordered a toddler t-shirt with a picture of Disney character "Goofy" and his name.
Amazon told me to keep the cardio shirt and sent the Disney shirt overnight delivery.

I opened the door to a delivery driver thrusting a bag of delicious smelling Indian takeaway at me recently. Sadly he had the wrong address so I gave him directions and sent him on his way.

Years ago I bought a cool box in Argos, and the cardboard carton that appeared was too big to even fit on the conveyor belt, so I arranged to drive round and collect it from the back door. Then the penny dropped, and there was of course four cool boxes in the carton. I kept one and returned the others.

Not an error, but DH just bought a knife sharpener, and it came with a free gift: a (cheaper) knife-sharpener!

NoWordForFluffy · 18/11/2020 18:19

A good few years ago we got an extra bag with our online shopping near to Christmas. I don't recall exactly what was in it, but it was nice stuff! We were told to keep it.

I've received duplicate eBay orders twice: once 6 packs of interdental brushes and the next a year's supply of Vit C tablets!

WiddlinDiddlin · 18/11/2020 18:38

Years ago, a poly box arrived on the doorstep containing 100 frozen pinky mice.

The company it came from I had ordered frozen fish food from a few years earlier but no idea why they randomly sent me frozen mice.

I bought a snake obviously. Seemed the sensible thing to do.

More recently, bought some carpet and a roll of vinyl flooring. The carpet had to be cut so we couldn't have it there and then but the vinyl was an offcut roll so we took that straight away.

OH went back for the carpet, was instructed to drive around the back and beep, customers not allowed to get out round the back for H&S reasons so they opened our boot, loaded it, closed boot told OH all good, he signed the clip board and drove home..

Got home and we have our carpet.. and another roll of vinyl.

Rang them up, they swore blind we'd only had the one roll of vinyl so gave up arguing and kept both :D One fitted the bathroom, t'other the kitchen, winner winner :D

Four cases of wine, years ago.

Two identical suitcases.

Each time, I'd only ordered one.

Whatamesssss · 18/11/2020 18:51

A fridge freezer and a shed from Argos. The address was correct but it wasn't our name, refused the delivery and they still wanted us to take it. It happened again with the same name another time but I can't remember what it was.

Loads of random stuff from grocery shopping. 200 cigarettes one time, I ran after to driver to hand them back and he didn't want them, gave them to my sister.

I had an iPad that was faulty and still in warranty (amazingly) so arranged to return and get a replacement, all sorted. Two months later they sent me another, phoned and explained, told to keep it, sister got that too Grin

Just today my parents recieved a random Personalised chocolate bar (1kg). Not their names. No information on sender. Not a chocolate they particularly like. They think it may have come from a company they ordered other personalised stuff from, and are worried someone else has their items.

TheDowagerDuchess · 18/11/2020 19:07

A Henry Hoover

TheDowagerDuchess · 18/11/2020 19:08

I did tell amazon and try to get them to collect the hoover but they wouldn’t so I’ve kept it!

I was reading this thread earlier then came home to a mystery parcel- several metres of fabric I'm sure I didn't order! But I do sew & love buying fabric, but sure I've never ordered from this firm and don't really want 2m of dinosaur print jersey...will be off on a trawl of my bank statement to make sure I didn't randomly buy this at 3AM then forgot

gildalilly · 18/11/2020 19:59

A couple of Christmassed ago I ordered an Xbox voucher online (one of the card ones). What arrived was a pack of 12! I went back to the retailer and they insisted that I'd been sent what I had ordered. So I sold the other 11 on eBay. 11 people got a bargain and I got Christmas paid for!

underneaththeash · 18/11/2020 21:57

The other thing I had for free was someone huge entire Ocado order. Our au pair at the tine just put it away, we were travelling home and by the time we arrived at Heathrow they wouldn’t collect. The food bank did get a lot of free nappies.

sashh · 19/11/2020 06:24

I've just remembered, I was woken up at 1.00am by insistant knocking.

It was Dominos, no idea what they were trying to deliver I just said, it's not mine and shut the door.

LondonlovesLola · 19/11/2020 06:36

Someone else’s entire on-line clothes order.

I ordered two dresses and inside the same parcel I found two pairs of jeans and a T-shirt along with my stuff.

I checked that I hadn’t ordered them by mistake Hmm and took them back to the shop.
They didn’t know what to do with them and seemed disinterested but took them begrudgingly (weird).

I should have kept them. Two pairs of brand new Levi jeans anyone?

Rubyupbeat · 19/11/2020 07:09

Apart from the people that informed the companies, surely the rest of the keepsies are theft.
Returning a leather jacket, she never ordered and getting a refund, takes the biscuit.
People are so quick to moan and blacklist companies that have ballsed up in other ways, yet more than happy to get their mitts on freebies, Wow!
