Today I received a blood pressure monitor and some jars for making jam/chutney. Maybe the jam making will raise my blood pressure?

What have you received in error?

3 dresses from ASOS. DH had ordered a shirt and the dresses came too. We informed ASOS but they told us to keep them. They were my size but were body-con type dresses and not my thing. I donated them to charity.

Came home a while back to find two very large PA speakers in our open fronted garage. Hadn't ordered any, no labels or identification on the packaging. CCTV shows (presumably) the driver pushing them down the drive on a sack barrow one at a time having parked on the road. Driver just in jeans and hoodie - no uniform and no livery on the truck.
We stored them safely for 6 months, nobody claimed them. They've been a fixture at family gatherings ever since!

MrsClatterbuck · 19/11/2020 12:07

2 white dinner plates instead of the two bowls I had ordered. The rest of the order was correct. It was M&S and the guy told me to keep them and reordered my bowls. So two free plates which I use all time now as the plates I had ordered are not a good fit in my dishwasher. Years ago I ordered through someone in work 2 bottles of Lavender wool wash from Lakeland. They sent 4.

Mypathtriedtokillme · 19/11/2020 12:30

Decathlon sent me someone else’s order when I let them know one turned up then my actual order was delivered, called them to let them know but then I got my order again then another 3 times.
By that stage I just gave up and used my many navy blue t shirts as a weird personal sports uniform.

Mypathtriedtokillme · 19/11/2020 12:45

I tried. Everytime I called they send me my order again so I just quit.
They had 5 chances to not fuck it up...

3littlemonkeys82 · 19/11/2020 12:48

A fridge freezer. The delivery team scratched the side of the first one (it was a charcoal colour so fairly noticeable) getting it in the house, so they said they would order a replacement and in the meantime to use the scratched one, which they would collect when the replacement was delivered. 10 days later the replacement was delivered, but the team advised they had no paperwork to take away the other one. Called the company who said just to keep it! We turned the doors of one around and placed them side by side in thankfully our large kitchen so ended up with a huge american fridge type looking thing!

TimeIhadaNameChange · 19/11/2020 13:31

Carpet cleaner.

Bought one in the Vax sale, it duly arrived. A few days later the courier stuck his head into my office to say he'd left my second one at Reception. I thought he was joking, but he wasn't. Duly rang up and the guy on the phone was gobsmacked at my honesty - apparently there had been a glitch in the system and many duplicates had gone out, few were being returned. It sat in the office for a few weeks though until it was picked up though.

Ofalltheginjoints · 19/11/2020 14:24

A flat screen TV from John Lewis, the order was originally going to my parents house as we were moving but we changed it to go to the new address, Somehow a duplicate order was placed rather then changing the address so I got my TV and my DM ended up with one as well, she refused the delivery and as we were going into town that day anyway we called into John Lewis to explain and were given £100 vouchers as a thank you

Passthecake30 · 19/11/2020 15:02

Chicken fillet - bra insert things and a kettle about 20 years ago, the company wouldn’t collect so I gave them away to my friends.

This week, a pack of 3 washing up scourers from Tesco’s. Exciting times.

Inextremis · 19/11/2020 15:06

A Tesco click 'n collect order - collected by clueless husband - included 5 nets of limes and two large paper bags full of sweet potatoes. We never ate sweet potatoes (though we do now!), but he thought I might need the limes 'for cocktails or something'. The kitchen is a foreign territory to him (I like it that way). Tesco told us to keep the stuff, they are 30 miles away from us, and it would have been a long round trip to return them!

DuzzyFuck · 19/11/2020 15:57

Ordered an M&S Beauty advent calendar a few years ago, they sent me 2. I might have owned up but it was already mid-way through December and they were trying to flog them for next to nothing so didn't think they'd be all that bothered about sorting collection for it to go back to them!

DP once ordered a sweatshirt for himself that I loved and threatened to steal. The following day another one turned up Grin.

forgetthehousework · 19/11/2020 16:10

@hiredandsqueak

An exercise bike. Turned up out of the blue and left on the doorstep. No name but my address. I contacted the sender and asked them to collect it. They said if I wanted to return something I needed to pay for return. I emailed advising them their item was here and they had a month to collect it and would dispose of it after that month. Waited six weeks and then sold it on ebay. Never heard from the company again.
Hmmmm .... A few years ago we ordered an exercise bike that never arrived, although yodel swore they'd delivered it ..... (The company did send us another one which arrived safely).
honeylulu · 19/11/2020 16:56

Tesco once delivered my correct order but with the addition of a pre packed sandwich. My son had a school trip next day so that made packed lunch easy!

Also for my daughter's first Christmas I ordered her a stocking with her name embroidered on. It's not a common name. Waited 5 weeks until 22 December and it didn't arrive. I rang and they quickly did another one and sent it by courier next day. On 24th the original one turned up in the post! I did phone and offer to return it but they said they only keep a stock of the most popular names and "sew as we go" with others so I could keep it. I asked around and donated it to a friend of a friend with daughter of the same name.

Ariela · 19/11/2020 17:31

@GameSetMatch

Some toilet cleaner ‘bath bomb’ type things, they were so good I wish I could find them again. You just dropped them into the toilets they fizzed up and cleaned the whole bowl!
Harper Power Plus tablets I imagine.
liveitwell · 19/11/2020 17:43

I had a Bobby brown face cream included in an order erroneously, still using it, it's ok but not worth the £40+ it would have cost!

rslsys · 19/11/2020 17:44

My brother got two free sets of built in bedroom furniture when he bought a kitchen from MFI many years ago.
He ordered the kitchen, they rang him a few weeks later to say it was was ready to collect. He went up in an estate car, which he filled. He rang me to take a van up to meet him. We half filled a Transit van with the boxes that he couldn't fit in the car. The boxes all had his name, address and purchase reference on them. I followed him home and helped him unpack. He identified the boxes which contained the kitchen components and checked them against his order - they were all there. The other boxes contained two complete sets of bedroom furniture. Built in wardrobes, chests of draws, bedside cabinets and all the associated trim.
He rang them the following day and they didn't seem particularly interested. They said they would accept it back if he delivered it back to the depot. His reply was he would keep it in a safe place pending their collection.
A year later MFI were bankrupt and he kitted out two bedrooms for his children in a nice light oak.

Nymerialuna · 19/11/2020 18:26

We received 8 tubs of chocolates and sweets with an asda order once. It was when they use to do bags still and it was a big christmas order so we didn't realise until we were putting everything away.
Order 6 packs of Christmas cards from next and received 6 boxes of 6 packs.
I think it might have been the same year actually.

Tangledtresses · 19/11/2020 20:19

I received a box of wine today!!! Woo hooo addressed to me
Didn't order it
Nice!

"One of those giant sports direct mugs"

Don't think anyone has ever paid for one of these

I had one of those this week. I was horrified. WTF do I do with it. It’s a hefty mug made of some crude clay I presume, it’s ugly, dirty and I didn’t ask for it.

I only ordered from sports direct for DP as they don’t do online shopping. I’m so embarrassed to have it in the house. Also it seems to reek of aftershave.

wouldthatbeworse · 19/11/2020 20:39

8 Mars ice creams and some frozen scallops from Sainsbury’s. Someone near us must have been fuming

cptartapp · 19/11/2020 20:44

Ordered one Tv stand and received two. Sold one.
Ordered one rucksack from Mountain Warehouse and received three. We've used them all over the world.

aModernClassic · 19/11/2020 20:44

A John Lewis cashmere sweater. It was too small for me and not my colour, so I took to the store when I next went in.

CoffeeRunner · 19/11/2020 20:51

Well. Not actually with deliveries but, 3 Christmases ago, I was just heading out to work & saw an Asda delivery van pulling up at the end of our drive. I thought nothing if it at the time, but after arriving at work I received a text from DH telling me that my Sherry had arrived. Odd as I hadn’t ordered any. Sure enough, when I got home next morning there were 3 x 1 litre bottles of Asda own brand pale Sherry sitting in my kitchen. Nothing else. No delivery note. Just Sherry.

We also had a Chinese delivered a few weeks ago which we hadn’t ordered. It was contactless delivery & by the time we answered the door & saw the bag of food the driver was already in his car leaving. Again no note, receipt etc & nothing to even trace the takeaway it came from.

WillSantaBeComingToTown · 19/11/2020 21:00

@Sadandsadder888

Selfridges once sent me a Chloé handbag when I’d ordered wrapping paper
They sent me a pair of Uggs I hadn't ordered
DoubleNegativePanda · 19/11/2020 21:07
