Today I received a blood pressure monitor and some jars for making jam/chutney. Maybe the jam making will raise my blood pressure?

What have you received in error?

@Snugglepumpkin

A yellow stickered tubular bandage.

I didn't ask for any form of bandage or indeed any item that might be thought of as a first aid thing & didn't actually know things like that got reduced to clear.

Most bandages have a use by date on them so need to be sold before they run out. Not sure what will happen to a piece of cloth once it's past the best before but our first aid kits at school have them checked & replaced regularly 🤷🏼‍♀️
Glitters100 · 18/11/2020 08:31

@ScrumptiousBears could it have been a present? I ordered art supplies for a friend who was going through a tough time to cheer her up, and had it sent to her address (there’s no option to add your name) so she received it and didn’t know if was from me until I remembered to ask her if it had arrived Smile

lemorella · 18/11/2020 08:33

Two giant sacks of cat food for cats with digestive issues from Amazon....when the vet had just told me to buy expensive vet food for my cats with digestive issues. Amazon told me to keep it. Bizarre but worked as I've continued to buy that food since.

A bunch of rhubarb on my Sainsbury's shop which inspired me to make a delicious rhubarb and amaretto crumble.

SanFrancisco49er · 18/11/2020 08:34

I've had an extra Ipad and an expensive extra decanter (wedding present)

I told the companies and gave them back. I never see 'extra stuff' I haven't paid for as mine!

TriciaMcMillan · 18/11/2020 08:34

I once got stuck in a loop where a company I'd ordered a drawer unit from kept scheduling it for delivery and sending it out, despite the fact I'd already received it. I had quite a few pieces of furniture due for delivery, so wasn't phased initially when they delivered a second one, assuming it was something else, but when the courier contacted me to arrange delivery of the third, I realised something was amiss.

I sometimes wonder if I hadn't let them know, if they would have just delivered me one weekly until the end of time. Alas, we'll never know....

Peasbewithyou · 18/11/2020 08:36

Just to say I returned / told them in almost every case! Don’t think I bothered for the supermarket socks but all the big stuff!

TriciaMcMillan · 18/11/2020 08:39

Oh and also 4 large bags of frozen fish and the same of frozen broccoli with my Ocado shop. Neither of which were of any use to me, and the driver wouldn't take back. Because they were frozen the food bank weren't interested either. What a waste!

katmarie · 18/11/2020 08:40

An extra deep double fitted sheet, in with my order of cot bed sheets. Nice, but we have a king size bed, so I passed that along to family. Also an extra pair of leggings in a clothes order, which was really nice because I'd wanted two pairs but didn't want to spend the money!

40somethingJBJ · 18/11/2020 08:40

The Disney store doubled up on an order a few years ago and told me to keep it. There was about £60 worth of Star Wars stuff for ds’s birthday.

lesleyashfishlips · 18/11/2020 08:41

10 pairs of compression gloves when I ordered 1 pair.

As the decent pairs are £15+, my arthritic hands very much appreciated it.

Artinsurance · 18/11/2020 08:42

Not me but I benefitted. My partner ordered a bra and knickers for me and a parcel arrived with completely the wrong order. He contacted the company to send a replacement and collect the original parcel then, over the next few days, received 3 sets of bra and knickers.

The courier didn't arrive for the original parcel so he contacted them again to rearrange and let them know about the duplicate items. They didn't send another courier so I eventually started using the things for me. We still have the other order (several bras and bikinis in completely the wrong size) and keep meaning to sell on eBay.

He's also just received an extremely expensive car part (£1000+) when he ordered a £10 oil bottle. The courier collection took 3 goes to get it back to the company and they sent him a travel mug as a thank you 😊

PawsAndPhytoncides · 18/11/2020 08:44

I once received a very expensive-looking pair of brand new Prada sunglasses. They came in a brown padded bag, wrapped inside in plain tissue paper with my name and address printed on the envelope. No packing slip, no sign anywhere who had sent them.

I still don't know to this day (but wear them a lot!)

hiredandsqueak · 18/11/2020 08:47

An exercise bike. Turned up out of the blue and left on the doorstep. No name but my address. I contacted the sender and asked them to collect it. They said if I wanted to return something I needed to pay for return. I emailed advising them their item was here and they had a month to collect it and would dispose of it after that month. Waited six weeks and then sold it on ebay. Never heard from the company again.

justlonelystars · 18/11/2020 08:47

Not quite a wrong delivery but I once ordered about £500 of foreign currency from a well known department store. Got the text through to say it had arrived so went to my local store to collect it.
The lady was looking for it for ages, typing things into the computer and finally came to the conclusion that the delivery driver must have stolen it as there was so trace of it in the store. No matter, she says, I actually have enough of that currency in stock to give you what you need.
A few days later, I notice a refund of the exact amount from the department store on my bank statement. I immediately phone up to say that I actually received the cash and can they re-take payment but they told me they can’t and to accept it as a goodwill gesture Confused
Literally, free money. I made a chunky donation to charity as I felt bad about it.

listsandbudgets · 18/11/2020 08:48

14 yes 14 bags of coriander!!!

I mean I like coriander but not that much. I was giving it away to the neighbours and shoving it into every soup and curry for days.

TweeBree · 18/11/2020 08:50

Outdoor furniture. £150 worth. They sent me the same order twice. Was told to keep it as collection was too awkward to arrange, so I sold it.

A TV. I'd ordered one, then cancelled and it was delivered anyway. I kept it in the box for 6 months but no one claimed it, so sold it on.

Chest of drawers. Sent wrong colour. They sent a replacement immediately but despite chasing for MONTHS never collected the original one. I sold it Ebay.

Seems to happen a lot!

cortex10 · 18/11/2020 09:00

20 pack's of photographic printer paper and 10 packs of indigestion tablets - only ordered one of each. Both times we were told to keep them.

TheBeeatAmbridge · 18/11/2020 09:00

At Easter I got an additional bag of food with my Waitrose delivery, from someone else's order by mistake. Not just any bag though, the bag that contained the fillet steak, sea bass, smoked salmon and rack of lamb!

A couple of weeks ago I ordered some baubles from John Lewis including one single fancy bauble. They sent me a box of 6 of the single one, I rang up and they told me to keep them.

CovidStoleTheRainbow · 18/11/2020 09:02

@ShaunaTheSheep

One of those giant sports direct mugs.

6 cans of glitter hairspray

No one orders the Sports Direct mugs, you just get them. Like chicken pox.
Runningoutofnamestochange · 18/11/2020 09:04

Not a delivery.
An over payment of a few hundred pounds from my mortgage repayment insurance when I had been off sick following an operation. I had returned to work but they had continued to make the payment into my account.
They were a bit gobsmacked when I phoned to tell them, I had been hoping they would tell me to keep it for my honesty but, alas, they requested I send them a cheque. It took several attempts, and two supervisors, to calculate the amount though.

ginglebellsginglebells · 18/11/2020 09:06

@MistyGreenAndBlue

I think I preferred the bag of cheese.
This made me snort... Grin
underneaththeash · 18/11/2020 09:08

I received 3 extra Wow toy rubbish trucks.
Ordered 1..amazon customer service couldn’t understand I I’d received one more than I paid for and sent another!
I gave them to a children’s charity in the end.

TigerDrawers · 18/11/2020 09:09

Thought I was in luck one day when my supermarket delivery contained lots of stuff that wasn't mine, but then I realised that all my wine was missing so I had someone else's aubergines and they had my wine! Angry

We also receive occasional deliveries of online shopping items from ASOS, etc, for the people that used to live in our house, but who moved out 6 years ago. We return it where we can do so without having to go out of our way, but most companies just tell us to keep it. Unfortunately nothing decent so far.

We also had a parcel turn up at our address once with no return address/packing label. It was a pair of v expensive sunglasses. We kept them for a while, just in case anyone came for them but then sold them on eBay eventually (they may have been expensive, but they were also hideous!)

MadisonAvenue · 18/11/2020 09:10

I was sent two Playstations (can’t remember which version) when I’d ordered one online from a high street store. I contacted the company and returned the extra one and was given a nice gift card for being honest.

A few weeks ago there was a bottle of flavoured vodka in my Tesco delivery.
