I see you have the weights in the background to show the haters you lift.

Can anyone think of witty reply to this please. Iam new to on line dating and rubbish at this. It's in response to a picture I sent of myself.. Weights just happened to be in background.

The only sensible thing to do is to ignore.
Or you could make some comment about how you've got rid of the dead weight and aren't looking to replace it.

GreyishDays · 17/11/2020 11:28

Haters? I don’t even understand what they’re meaning.

Hels69 · 17/11/2020 11:28

This is someone I like though lol. We have been chatting for awhile.

HollowTalk · 17/11/2020 11:29

Who are the haters?

furloughandfallow · 17/11/2020 11:30

"What an odd comment"

GreyishDays · 17/11/2020 11:30

Oh I’d just laugh it off then and say you’re not sneaky enough to set up photos like that. And say ‘good spot’ or something.

contrmary · 17/11/2020 11:32

"At least I hid the sex toys though"

DanielODonkey · 17/11/2020 11:32

"It helps me filter out the dicks who think they get to share incorrect opinions of me"

pipnchops · 17/11/2020 11:33

You could say something self deprecating about wanting to move them out of the shot but you couldn't lift them 😂

helloxhristmas · 17/11/2020 11:34

Why would you reply? The only thing to do is not reply.

RolandSchitt · 17/11/2020 11:34

Are you sure you like him, because that's a really cringey thing for him to say 🤣

DanielODonkey · 17/11/2020 11:35

Jeez don't make a comment about being weak. Why would you do that?! WHY should OP Be self deprecating @pipnchops? To be less intimidating? To make the message sender feel good for making some stupid comment?

Hels69 · 17/11/2020 11:36

The haters aren't anyone lol its just a saying. Maybe I should tell you iam 20. It's just the way we speak. Stupid I know.

Look up negging...

Titsinknicks · 17/11/2020 11:40

Fucking hell Mumsnet can be so negative/odd. How can his comment be classed as 'negging'?

Yes I'd probably say something like 'Haha! Yes, good spot, I like working out. At least I make sure xxxx was out of the picture ;-)' - and be as cheeky/flirty as you like.

pipnchops · 17/11/2020 11:41

@danielodonkey that would make me laugh as that my kind of humour but not to everyone's taste!

Titsinknicks · 17/11/2020 11:41

Maybe it's an age thing. I understood OP. Don't ask Mumsnet for advice on replying to messages - you'll get told to ignore/block/be downright rude back.

Whatthebloodyell · 17/11/2020 11:45

“I don’t have any haters, only fans”
“Don’t you believe I lift for real? I challenge you to an arm wrestle”
“Don’t judge others by your own standards”

BigCityLife · 17/11/2020 11:46

Take another picture of yourself with your face squashed up against the weights.

FTMF30 · 17/11/2020 11:47

I'd just say "correct 💪😉" or "not just the haters😉".

Can you tell I'm partial to a winky face.

Bloodypunkrockers · 17/11/2020 11:49

I'm glad I RTFT

I didn't understand the haters comment but are you are 20, so that's the way young people must talk

If you have to ask others for a witty response then it's not spontaneous and not you

So I would just move on from it and change the subject

Hels69 · 17/11/2020 11:50

BTW I don't lift.. They were my brothers old weights lol

OP posts:
upsidedownwavylegs · 17/11/2020 11:50

He doesn’t sound like the best audience for a witty reply crowdsourced from a middle-class parenting forum.

ItStartedWithAKiss241 · 17/11/2020 11:54

I would totally say this to a man too online dating... I find it funny! X
