Will Donald pardon the turkeys or will the turkeys pardon Donald?

Jenna Ellis, who describes herself as Trump's senior legal advisor and a constitutional law attorney, tweeted "If Joe Biden is really confident he won legally and legitimately, why is he so afraid of proving it?" Respondents had a lot of fun with her apparent lack of knowledge of the basic legal principle that Biden doesn't have to prove anything. I particularly liked the Secret Barrister's response: "I don’t think you should do law Jenna."

OVienna · 17/11/2020 09:39

I'm getting so sick of it all. I'm really at my wits' end now.

Katinski · 17/11/2020 10:20

lionheart I heard about this.

Time to dart him, I reckon.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 17/11/2020 11:42

I was glad to hear that the World Service referred to the demented orange as "the incumbent" in their news reports last night about him refusing to concede. Biden was named as "president elect Biden" throughout.

Pomegranatespompom · 17/11/2020 12:11

@moonjelly too funny

JamieLeeCurtains · 17/11/2020 13:19

Anyone else hearing 'incumbent' as 'encumbrance'?

DGRossetti · 17/11/2020 13:21

I find it amusing that US etiquette makes any POTUS - incumbent or past "Mr. President". Imagine how the Mango Mussolini will react to that ?

See ! They still call me the President !!!

"Mango Mussolini" 😆😆😆😆

It's going to be interesting to see how many news outlets give Scrotus that courtesy, especially given his 'legacy' and current obstruction. He didn't deserve the title when he was in office, let alone after he's been booted out the door.

64 more days of Hell before we have a POTUS & VPOTUS who are actually up to the job. But as Churchill said "When you're going through Hell, keep going!!".

I think I raised the same subject a while ago and I think it likely that the media will refer to him as Mr Trump, Trump or Prisoner 8627452

The Orange Albatross works for me.

PerkingFaintly · 17/11/2020 14:09

I noticed Biden being very clear that he isn't allowed to negotiate with foreign leaders yet:

"I'm having a lot of meetings with world leaders on the telephone. I cannot get into negotiating with them about things that are going to be done, but they're calling with some degree of enthusiasm."

It has been amusing to watch some of the Trumpies screeching " Logan Act!"

Clearly they're still sore after Flynn was convicted of lying to the FBI –Flynn having told the lies in the FBI investigation into him cutting an actual deal with Russia before Trump's inauguration.

Lweji · 17/11/2020 14:13

I noticed that Macron saw fit to inform Biden that he'd be meeting with the US Secretary of State. Grin

I'd have loved to have been in that meeting.

"What do you think of bombing Iran's nuclear facilities?"
"Pas possible. Non."

Anyway, electile disfunction and the many stages of election grief.

Iranians are also monitoring sudden personnel changes inside the Pentagon,

i.e. "They're reading CNN"

So the Georgia hand recount has found 2500 extra ballots, approx 1650 for Trump, 850 for Biden so margin narrowed by 800 votes.
I assume this means Trump is now President Elect...

And wtf is this Release the Kraken stuff about dodgy counting machines?

When I saw that, I wondered if some Democrat mover and shaker could step in and arrange a new position ? Which seems perfectly OK by US standards.

That Dominion (the company that makes the machines) is owned and controlled by 'anti-Trump lefties' and Hugo Chavez and were programmed to 'toss out' votes for him.

[/quote] I'll admit it's frustrating and upsetting. We are thisclose to him being gone and our endurance is running so thin now. We'd all hoped he'd pitch a hissy-fit filled concession speech and then sit behind the Resolute Desk with his arms folded and pouting like a child refusing to eat his spinach, until the lame duck period ended.

What he's doing now isn't funny. It's harmful and tragic and people will die because of it, whether it's Covid fatalities or troops dying because of lack of the numbers to defend against attacks.

We just have to remember that if we lose our ability to laugh, that's another thing he's taken from us. We can't let that happen, even if we have to laugh through tears or with gritted teeth.

To tell the truth, I'm being fitted for a custom mouth guard next month. My DDS has noticed some 'wear and tear' on my molars and says I'm either jaw clenching or tooth grinding in my sleep.

This was all put in motion before the election, but they had to wait for my insurance to come through. I'm sure the problem will massively decrease after 20 Jan, but whatever, I'll take the guard anyway.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 17/11/2020 16:33

I have been worrying for months about what was going to happen between his losing and his finally bogging off into the sunset or wherever he plans to spend the rest of his life.

Every night I say "Well, he hasn't started a nuclear war yet" and try to feel grateful, but it's getting to be hard work.

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 17/11/2020 16:38

Insurance? You have INSURANCE? (Cf Maureen Lipman as Beattie (British Telecoms)) "You've got an -ology", 1980s - )
