Yes I meant when the EC votes - I wonder if he will concede then? Seemed a 'strong rumour'. It was one of his great cronies being interviewed, not a politician, more of a media person. Didn't catch his name. Seemed a slimy sort, but nevertheless might know what he's talking about. Actually I think it was Sky not C4 - all blurring into one.
Got it!
Possibly after the EC votes, but I think if he's going to concede at all it won't be until the joint session of Congress certifies the results on 6 January. Personally I don't think he'll ever utter the words "I concede". I think it more likely that he'll give some speech about being pushed out of office 'illegally' or whatever words he chooses to soothe his baby ego.
The date I think is going to be interesting is 23 Dec. That's the (final) day for the EC to formally deliver the results of the vote to the President of the Senate, and that's Pence. Will he refuse to accept the results? Will he accept but refuse to call the joint session? What's going to happen between 23 Dec and 6 Jan?
We're certainly in uncharted territory. But I know one thing for sure. Scrotus term WILL end on 20 Jan. That's a Constitutional given. And that Biden WILL be sworn in on 20 Jan. That's a Constitutional given. too. What happens in between is all folderol and shenanigans.
