Will Donald pardon the turkeys or will the turkeys pardon Donald?

www.politico.com/news/2020/11/11/maga-rally-washington-dc-435958
🙄

As of this morning no permits have been sought or granted, unlike the Women's March and the other major post-election rallies in 2016. But I suppose these yahoos don't think they need no stinkin' permits, being all 'sovereign citizens on the land' that they are. The problem is that these miscreants are just looking for reasons to become violent, again unlike the protests in 2016.

Apparently local MAGA groups in our area are organizing 'Trump truck' rallies for this Saturday so they can drive around, toot their horns and yell racial slurs and random obscenities out their windows. I expect they'll be ending up downtown at the state capitol building.

Idiots. And if that orange buffoon or any of his minions encourage them and violence breaks out each one of them should be prosecuted for incitement to riot.

Lweji · 12/11/2020 13:51

Should we start referring to #45 as STBXP?

Lweji · 12/11/2020 13:52

Who is actually paying any attention to American national security at the moment?

Good question.

TheNorthWestPawsage · 12/11/2020 14:10

Interpretive dance? Hmm

Trump is "very aware there is not a path to victory," but he believes the 72 million who voted for him "deserve a fight" so he's battling as a form of "theater" for them, a top White House aide tells me.

I just read his administration had blocked Biden from getting congratulation calls from international leaders, some of them had to reach out to Obama to find a way to reach him

SunniCameHomeWithAVengeance · 12/11/2020 14:17

Hopefully Biden is being given security briefings on the down low.

Not the point but my gosh that photo. Is ear and his face are completely different shades. Who tells him this looks good?! It's like a black and white minstrel show with fake tan!

I get what the article is saying. But I don't think any of us want our party to become what the GOP has become. Joe has weapons, they're just 'quieter' ones for the moment. And he has Kamala. Where Joe will be the quiet voice of peace and cooperation I think Kamala will be more outspoken and plainspoken. It's one of the things that makes them such a good team.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 12/11/2020 14:45

I would suggest that Biden knows the GOP fairly well by now, and if arming himself is needed, he probably knows that as well.

Just saying...

He was also the best shooter.

And I suspect Biden can be too.

@SunniCameHomeWithAVengeance

Hopefully Biden is being given security briefings on the down low.
I'd say without a doubt. He's an 'insider', he has friends in high places in both parties who are more interested in preserving our security than playing Scrotus' little games. Plus Kamala is on the Senate Intel Cmte so she's entitled to receive a lot of the same briefing material as the POTUS is.

Joe's not a fool. He's not going to let the cat out of the bag. Plus, if it makes Scrotus look like more of a spoilt brat so much the better.

SanFranBear · 12/11/2020 14:55

Must admit, I am very much looking forward to seeing what she does. She's fantastic!

AcrossthePond55 · 12/11/2020 15:03

Although this situation is unprecedented, I've been thinking about my own (former) agency. I can guarantee you that even if the Secretary of my former agency was non-cooperative there would be someone high enough up that would be quietly answering any questions the Biden camp has. They may not ship documents over, but info would be shared. I've seen it before although of course not at this level.

Most of the agency heads that are following the refuse to cooperate mantra are political appointees and they all know they're on their way out come January. I don't get why they're so anxious to look like arse-licking sycophants. You'd think they'd realize their professional reputations are being more severely damaged by not cooperating.

PerkingFaintly · 12/11/2020 15:20

Coquohvan I heard Sturgeon do that! Burnnnnn.Grin

longwayoff · 12/11/2020 15:34

Trump v Rupert Murdoch? No chance. The Dirty Digger will win and make Trump cry. In public. He isn't insane enough to pick a fight with Fox surely? The amount of dirt they've concealed for Trump over the years will bury him..

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 12/11/2020 15:37

If they can be bothered.

Mrsmorton · 12/11/2020 15:43

So trump now needs 163% of votes in Pennsylvania ... but they haven't called it?

BruceAndNosh · 12/11/2020 15:49

I know it is standard that former Presidents retain the title Mr President but I suspect that for the media 45 will revert to being known as Trump or Mr Trump

After Jan 20th 2021, My musings are... Trump continues to insist he's the only legit Prez and tries to lobby the UN to recognise this. He holds frequent rallies & appoints his family & cronies to be 'government in exile' members. They draw an income stream from the ongoing fundraising & rallies. Eventually the UPS raids members for wire fraud (misappropriated funds). There will be many state-govt prosecutions but too many layers of money laundering schemes to prosecute anyone with blood family links to Chump.

Twitter finally bans his sorry ass while Trump continues as defacto leader against MSM. I guess his operation will move even more heavily to email lists for marketing. Facebook will shift around uncomfortably while hosting the pro-Trump groups.

Honestly the part i don't understand is why Murdoch has given up on Chump. Could it be personal revulsion now that Chump served his purpose, everyone on Wall Street would like a period of boring govt, please, or the untold stories of Trump's meglamania started to alarm even Murdoch.

Finally, Barron will reach 6'8". He will go work as a Yoga teacher on a remote South Pacific island.

Honestly the part i don't understand is why Murdoch has given up on Chump

DP (American) has been talking about this for a few weeks now - it was obvious they were beginning to cool on him for a while. His thinking is that it's become obvious that whilst Trump is still good for ratings, he's been becoming increasingly erratic and embarrassing, and in the longer term that's going to increasingly marginalise him (and any network that fully supports him). Covering Trump will still get traffic, as he'll carry on being "newsworthy", but being perceived to be fully on his side will be increasingly detrimental. Fox don't need Trump for ratings basically, and any signs of him being a liability mean they back away from vocal support.

Murdoch backs winners, and is ruthless at moving on.
