Mine was house plant potting mix, long lighters, and little packets of yeast to make bread. Couldn’t get hold of any of them and thy all would have made such a difference to my life.

A trip to the dump. Haircut. Craft things.

painfullyunhip · 01/11/2020 22:52

The new hip I'd been about to get.

Hot water - boiler broke down during last lock down and has only been replaced in last few weeks
There were a few food items that were unobtainable eg Brussel sprouts
I missed company from friends and family most
Hated working from home
Missed SW and the gym plus swimming

A garden. Although at winter time I don't think that's much of an issue.
Room for a proper work set up.

Yeast, too. My bread maker had to stay unused because I needed the yeast I had in case we had to self isolate.

And plant pots. DH did a cull of all our slightly batters ones last year and we hadn't got around to replacing them.

hopsalong · 01/11/2020 23:02

Weed.

PickAChew · 01/11/2020 23:06

This time, mind, I'm wishing we'd got around to replacing ds2's disgusting carpet with vinyl a bit sooner. Don't know how easy that's going to be to do, now.

Cross stitch thread. I usually use a small local shop, which was shut, and the specialist online shop was really backed up with orders. Fortunately, I went to the small local shop last week to get stocked up for my Christmas stitching!

Time and patience!

After about 6 weeks I was blessed with time (furlough) thank God. I'd been trying to work in the evening's, homeschooling and toddler entertaining during the day, giving DH time to work. I was completely wrecked and no patience for anything. I think that was the toughest 6 weeks of my life.

Once I was able to catch my breath I could see how depressed DS9 was, I got him an Xbox to help get him at least chatting with pals.

I count my blessings that I got furlough for a couple of months to get us through that summer term. And had the money to get DS his Xbox which was a complete lifeline for him.

Potting compost for me too, I have a few house plants that need repotting.. Also some white spirit or turps, or paint brush cleaner.

Quiet time to myself with no one else in the house whinging, arguing, questioning, pestering or making any other noise!

I can deal with a lack of anything else but alone time to me is more valuable than anything.

Eyebrows
Same here! Got mine done yesterday -phew-with that and last minute emergency hair appointment feels like the last ‘copter out of Saigon Halloween Grin

Even now the way they run it is pathetic.

A working internet connection. Very badly timed house move and BT messed up - it took nearly a month to get it sorted. And we live somewhere with no phone signal!

Yeast and flour, seeds and soil. Pegs! Had 11 pegs from March until July. I ordered some online but they took months to arrive!

nosswith · 02/11/2020 08:34

In the house I was fine. I missed going to the cinema and miss going to the theatre which now is not going to happen later this month.

@MadameTuffington

A pet! We now have an AMAZING house rabbit called Frank - he is beautiful and will hopefully keep us all sane 🙌
@MadameTuffington He's goooooorgeous! How do you stop yourself from frittering away whole days watching him lollop around?
Frokni · 02/11/2020 17:49

A more personal thing- journal and planner. I felt like such a lemon and have already begun laying out weekly targets for myself, ex:

  • solo walk in to town and back (2 miles)
  • store Halloween box in attic
  • order new dining chairs
  • list 2 toys on FB market place/ eBay

We didn't need anything else tbh. We are in Northamptonshire and it was all quite manageable in many other ways.
