Mine was house plant potting mix, long lighters, and little packets of yeast to make bread. Couldn’t get hold of any of them and thy all would have made such a difference to my life.

A plan.

A competent government.

Birthday cards and wrapping paper. I just find sourcing them online a pain and expensive. Lockdown in Wales came with 24 hour notice of non-essential shopping ban. Caused havoc for my daughters birthday. I’ve now stocked up on cards for about the next three years Grin

Ferrisbuellersdayoff · 03/11/2020 18:25

A cleaner. Got that now.

Chloroform gas
I have the honour of living in the mother's house again (after a long story involving workplace crud and a mental breakdown). With a brother who has NEVER lived outside of home. That was a well needed item when he had to WFH.
While me, trying to do two courses online is abused for "being on the computer all day"

Member984815 · 04/11/2020 07:05

Willpower at the beginning but once I got a new weighing scale I got that back , lost about 3 stone since may and feel fantastic about it . Hopefully I won't gain it back before Christmas

Ddot · 04/11/2020 07:40

Good for you honey, hang a pretty dress on the outside of your wardrobe for insentive

InconvenientPeg · 04/11/2020 08:00

My sense of taste and smell. It went in March (thanks covid) and isn't back yet.

And apparently a phase of recovery (fingers crossed) is everything tasting wrong, so I currently have the diet of a fussy toddler, can't stomach anything with any flavour at all, and hardly any fruit or veg.

MrsRobert · 04/11/2020 08:11

Tunnocks Tea Cakes-could only get other tea cakes during lockdown! Seriously though I often didn't have fresh milk because I ran out. I had UHT milk while I was shielding. Now thankfully smaller shops deliver.

@Ddot

A lock on the ebay button
Not exactly what you asked for, but how about "Waste no time" on your main device, so you can kick yourself off various sites after a set period of time, and if you have a particular time you tend to spend £££ more, it can lock you out from that site for the duration. Its free.

I would have liked to be have had house sorting/ decluttering and decorating done, but I can't physically lift so patience is needed for others help

ColdTattyWaitingForSummer · 04/11/2020 12:54

Flour and chocolate chips for baking.
A wheelchair ramp so I could get in and out of the house independently.

Ddot · 04/11/2020 19:23

NotanotherboxofFogs Thanks for that unfortunately I'm not that tec savvy but have almost reached my paypal limit. Wardrobe is full of lovely stuff just nowhere to go.

Pumpkinpie1 · 05/11/2020 13:37

It’s not really a lockdown is it? Schools open , manufacturing, garages, construction all open . Shops shut yes but there’s online
How can it work when it’s so half hearted

Shinyletsbebadguys · 05/11/2020 13:46

Last time wasn't too bad although supplies for home schooling support which are less needed now as DC still in school (although the laminator may come out again)

This time both DC birthday are in the lockdown period (I really did not plan those conceptions well...two DC three years apart and their bloody birthdays are two weeks apart a month from Christmas...what was I thinking) so there was some sorting of birthdays Monday and Tuesday.

A new freezer was given to us and ordered before hint of lockdown so still should arrive next week and in theory one supermarket shop and we are covered which is good.

Last time it was my hair dye that randomly went immediately out of stock but I went from blonde to redhead so that's no longer an issue.
