Mine was house plant potting mix, long lighters, and little packets of yeast to make bread. Couldn’t get hold of any of them and thy all would have made such a difference to my life.

@OhTheRoses

Flour, and eggs could be challenging. My liberty.
Why were eggs in short supply, the hens were still laying, the farmyard leanto where I buy them was never short. I wonder if all those who missed flour have done much baking since?
Stripesnomore · 01/11/2020 21:40

All gardening stuff and the swing ball. It took months for swing ball to be in stock and adult DS has played it every single day.

And dogs. I wish I had puppies while DS is working from home but still can’t afford them.

Going somewhere. I really missed spontaneous outings to a NT place, museum, cinema, theatre etc .

I still haven’t managed to do a lot as I always remember too late to book.

Secondly - physical contact by someone who isn’t my daughter or my husband.

Money. In theory we should have been alright - according to government calculations his wages should have been half of normal but his company only paid a quarter. No where to report fraud too either.

Other than that herbs and spices.

Charleyhorses · 01/11/2020 21:46

Furlough pay. Started a new job in March so had 4 months with no pay.
Back now thank God. Happy to get on the train every morning.

copperoliver · 01/11/2020 21:51

A cleaner. X

Lobsterquadrille2 · 01/11/2020 21:54

Nothing really. Perhaps a garden. Although @MadameTuffington Frank is gorgeous! Not sure my cat would approve of me having a rabbit.

HollaHolla · 01/11/2020 21:57

Human contact

AriettyHomily · 01/11/2020 21:58

Flour was the only thing we couldn't get.

Dustballs · 01/11/2020 22:05

A garden.

SentientAndCognisant · 01/11/2020 22:07

Hairdresser, a proper cut and colour

kitschplease · 01/11/2020 22:13

A cleaner
A less stressful job (or furlough)
A live-in nanny
A holiday home.

All of the above would be great for normal life, not just lockdown.

Beachhuts90 · 01/11/2020 22:17

We didn't have heating or an oven last time, the oven especially was annoying as restaurants were closed and we could only have stovetop or bbqed food. Both sorted now luckily.

Fauvist · 01/11/2020 22:18

A bicycle. Bought one of those now.

Flour. Got a massive 16kg bag so unlikely to run out in the near future.

Headspace and alone time. Not looking likely any time soon.

OllyBJolly · 01/11/2020 22:19

Biscuits
cakes
liquorice alsorts /wine gums
wine
crisps

I lost a pile of weight in the last lockdown because DH insisted we follow the rules and we didn't even shop. I managed to find online suppliers for fish, meat, veg and even cleaning materials but nowhere could I get little treats without bulk buying.

( I do now get regular Wine deliveries )

Cocopogo · 01/11/2020 22:22

Work from home
Bread flour

Stillgoings · 01/11/2020 22:26

A table tennis table. Couldnt get one for love nor money and we were suddenly desperate for one. The feeling has passed now and there would be no use for it anyway. No furlough, shielding or school break up for us this time.

liquoriceallsortfamily · 01/11/2020 22:27

A sewing machine

TicTacTwo · 01/11/2020 22:27

A haircut

Newmumatlast · 01/11/2020 22:29

any support from the gov. And willpower to exercise rather than eat

PorpoiseSpitGazzette · 01/11/2020 22:29

It is possible to use a dried spaghetti noodle as a taper/spill if you need length to light something with difficult access; thinking old manual boiler pilot. Light using normal length match where you need to use it, It won’t survive a stroll around the house lit : but it may “do in a pinch.”

sarahC40 · 01/11/2020 22:29

Time to isolate so that I could give my parents a hug. Dad is now in hospital and the most I’ve been able to do is get him to the car because the ambulance was going to take too long. Fml.

Rukminy · 01/11/2020 22:29

Furlough

Livandme · 01/11/2020 22:44

Hugs

whirlinginspace · 01/11/2020 22:46

Apparently it was the egg boxes that were in short supply.
