There is much doom and gloom at present so would love to hear of little things that make you happy.
Mine are when I do the laundry and all socks pair up with no lost ones.

Also when I stroke my sleeping dog and he groans in a contented way.
The gentle pop of a cork when opening a new bottle of wine and the glugging noise as you fill a glass.

Lovely thread 😊. Agree about the dog’s contented grunts and signs. Loud purring from the cats.

The satisfying sound of the whistling cafetière as we make the first cup of coffee.

Fresh smell of clothes drying on the outside line. And a freshly made bed. Bliss!

JustPickleRick · 31/10/2020 15:05

When its raining and windy outside at night but i'm tucked up in bed, warm and cosy. Love that feeling 😍 always makes me feel happy and helps me drift off the sleep quicker!

MonkeyPuddle · 31/10/2020 15:06

Seeing rainbows in the sky.
When I check DS before I go to bed and I ask him if he’s my lovely boy and he nods his head and smiles in his sleep.
DP bringing me a cup of tea before I’ve realised I even want one. He has a 6th sense.
Watching the seasons change in the trees at the back of my house.
The smell as I walk past the laundrette.
My Marie Kondo folded clothes drawers, they are a thing of beauty.
Feeling baby wiggle. I’m 10 days over due and each little wiggle is precious.
Biscuits.

A bear hug from my 6'4'' little boy (aged 28), my dogs waggy tail.
A cake in the oven making the house smell lovely.
The smell of rain in summer... 'petrichor'

My DS laughing uncontrollably when he's tickled! Never fails to make me smile 🥰

IEat · 31/10/2020 15:16

When I get a message from the person I am in love with (they don't know), and it's not in reply to a message I've sent.. My heart happiness explodes ❤️

My autistic 2 year old holding my face looking in my eyes and giving me a kiss Halo

SchrodingersImmigrant · 31/10/2020 15:22

When I top up the wild bird's feeders and watch them come. Absolute carnage. Absolutely adorable.

NeedToKnow101 · 31/10/2020 15:29

Not a dog owner but I go for a lot of walks and love the way little dogs look up at me and smile, and the way dogs always look up at their owners for reassurance. So adorable.

Funny things my friends do, say and put on WhatsApp.

My partner's silly voices as long as he doesn't do them when we're having sex. Grin

If I order clothes online and they fit and I wear them, that makes me smile.
Loads of things really. Grin

Listening to my toddler and preschool neighbours playing in their garden.

Watching the long tailed tits in the apple tree.

DH bringing me a coffee.

6 Nations rugby being on telly today. Love cheering the rugby.

Late afternoon sun hitting the last of the roses.

Dunking a Cadbury’s chocolate finger in a mug of tea.

NeedToKnow101 · 31/10/2020 15:31

Many different weathers as long as I've either got the right clothes on for the weather, or in the case of torrential rain, I'm tucked up indoors with tea and toast, or wine.

2020iscancelled · 31/10/2020 15:31

@SchrodingersImmigrant

Yes to watching the birds

In my previous house I had lots and lots in the garden and loved watching them flock in - And using the bird bath - adorable!
Don’t have any in my new garden Sad

It makes me happy when my baby sleeps soundly and has a proper nap so that when he wakes up and looks at me he smiles that gummy happy warm snuggly baby gorgeous smile

Svelteinmydreams · 31/10/2020 15:32

Waking up in the morning and realising I am spooning a Labrador and not DH.😳

GhostsUpMePosts · 31/10/2020 15:33

This morning's walk took me under the canopy of a beautiful bowing tree, all red and amber and gold leaves. Stunning and such a sense of momentary protection.

The sound of rain.
Autumn.
Endorphins after exercise.
Long baths.
Reading.

Just being outside makes me smile if I’m honest. I recently went to the Scottish highlands and was blown away by how beautiful it is. On the opposite end of the spectrum, I have lived in central London For 8 years now, and I am often still blown away by how lucky I am to live in such an amazing place. I hope I never stop being excited by the tube (which makes my daily commute better than it should be!).

ChampagneCommunist · 31/10/2020 15:45

@IEat ♥️ It's lovely, isn't it?

Also, that short period when my kitten allows me to rub her tummy, before she tries to kill my hand. Kitten tummies - mmmmmmm

My mum's dog LOVES me. Like, embarrassingly so. If I arrive after a gap of not seeing her for a while, she gets ecstatically excited, leaps up and down (she's a tiny Jack Russell with tiny short legs) and wags and wags and WAGS and does these little squeaky barks til I pick her up, and then wriggles and licks and squeals and just is so pleased to see me that it makes my week. Then she'll get on my lap if she can and fall asleep, and if she's warm enough she wriggles onto her back with her little paws on her chest, and her tummy goes all pink as she snores and occasionally licks my hand in her sleep.

OurChristmasMiracle · 31/10/2020 17:03

As weird and touristy as I am gonna sound, I live in London so sometimes just coming through London looking at the scenery. Taking a moment to look around and appreciate the beautiful ever changing city I live in.

Sometimes just looking up at the sky- how beautiful the colours are within it.
