To be surprised that at how awful these dresses are?

I'm not sure awful is the right word or why Facebook would think I might like 'Pencil Me In' or 'Treat Yourself'?
@YellowandGreenToBeSeen well if you like red shiny trousers I'm surprised you're not queuing up for a rainbow shirt to wear with them Grin
The look was a tad more punk than that!

hilariousnamehere · 30/10/2020 23:08

@ItsNotPinkItsSalmon aw thank you! I probably often look ridiculous but I enjoy my clothes and love colourful stuff 🤩

EvilPea · 30/10/2020 23:09

I like them.

You probably wouldn’t like my wardrobe.

CorianderLord · 30/10/2020 23:10

They're perfect for reception teachers

KatesMott · 30/10/2020 23:10

Fuck me, it’s like the dress version of those awful Irregular Choice shoes.

YellowandGreenToBeSeen · 30/10/2020 23:10

@GlummyMcGlummerson

Wore skinny, red, very high shine trousers with DM’s and a black & red Whitney Houston t-shirt today. Am 49. It’s not about navy and black and Boden thank you very much.

Well you're obviously not the kind of person my comment was aimed at then Confused

It's the faux shock from people who clearly have no imagination when it comes to clothes. I have loads of stuff from Harkle, including the rainbow dress, it's fabulous. I look and feel great in it. What are women actually expected to wear these days?!

Well, to be fair it was you that seemingly offered the either / or comparison.

But apology accepted.

sadeyedladyofthelowlandsea · 30/10/2020 23:10

I quite like a lot of them! The mid-length skirts are entirely wrong for me shapewise, but POCKETS.

Ironfloor269 · 30/10/2020 23:11

From your thread title, OP, I was expecting to see dresses similar to Pretty Little Thing or the M&S pink monstrosity.. these areas half as bad. In fact, I quite like them.

Iamthewombat · 30/10/2020 23:13

Not all of us want to look like Dillard's and dress in insipid navy and black

What is a ‘Dillard’? I just googled and got a US department store named Dillard’s but I assume that was not what you meant.

Did you mean ‘dullards’? You do know that a dullard is someone dull witted and stupid? Do you mean ‘a person who dresses in dull colours’?

Pangur2 · 30/10/2020 23:15

Oh my god I need that colouring pencil dress. Thanks OP! This has filled a Lindy Bop shaped hole in my life, haha!

Iamthewombat · 30/10/2020 23:16

Christ on a moped, I just looked at the knitwear. My eyes!

D4rwin · 30/10/2020 23:17

I like them a lot, I do wear stuff like this and find the ageism about clothes frankly sad, you only live once! But I won't buy anything advertised on Facebook as it's usually some sort of scam.

jambeforeclottedcream · 30/10/2020 23:19

I like them, what's wrong with themConfused

My body fits that shape and I love how colourful they are. And they have pockets !!!!

Fcuk38 · 30/10/2020 23:21

@anxiouscrazymum

I saw a lady wearing a dinosaur dress the other day and my initial thoughts are 'what the f**k is that' was that she must have made the monstrosity, but now I reckon she bought it from this sight! Awful, just awful
It was probably a popsy dress.
TartanDMs · 30/10/2020 23:25

Haha! I have a couple of the so called monstrosities and have had nothing but compliments. I don't dress for others though, but for myself, and if I like it I wear it. I do have bright blue hair though.

Gillian1980 · 30/10/2020 23:25

Aw, I love these!
I keep seeing the adverts and thinking how lovely they are.

Terrace58 · 30/10/2020 23:26

I don’t have any from that brand, but I do own several dresses that are similar. I love them and every time I wear one someone compliments the dress. I’m sure there are people looking at me hating my outfit, but I really don’t care. Fashionable I have never been. I’d rather be the woman who wears a glow in the dark jellyfish dress to the aquarium.

Colycola · 30/10/2020 23:27

@anxiouscrazymum Halloween Blush I have two dinosaur dresses Halloween Blush

Mammyloveswine · 30/10/2020 23:29

@SunshineOutdoors

Got to be aimed at primary school teachers to wear to work? No offence to primary school teachers intended!
Haha I'm a primary school teacher and funnily enough was eyeing these up the other week Grin
Mammylamb · 30/10/2020 23:34

I like them!!

heartshapedfaces · 30/10/2020 23:35

they make adult women look like overgrown toddlers

singme · 30/10/2020 23:38

Love Princess Highway!

I think the Dinosaur dress is from Joanie clothing- I would have got it if it was in my size.

I do like a quirky dress although had seen these a while ago and couldn’t find one I liked enough.

Jux · 30/10/2020 23:39

it's not simply the vulgarity of the prints, but how badly fitted they are how dumpy they make the model look

Noideawottodo · 30/10/2020 23:41

They look like something the female version of Colin from the fast show would wear.

Iamthewombat · 30/10/2020 23:42

I am all in favour of people dressing up in unflattering frocks with pencil or pumpkin designs, or trompe l’oeil camera motifs on sweaters. Especially if they are standing near me, because that makes me look better.
