To be clear, the first salvo in this particular battle was fired by a PP who stated that anyone who didn’t like those dresses was a Dillard/dullard, by which it emerged that she meant ‘boring and lacking in imagination’

I certainly wasn't aiming that at anyone in particular, certainly not on this thread, it was a comment about those who think women should only ever dress in boring clothes, lest they show any glimmer of personality. Because we all know, especially over a certain age, we must try our best to be as invisible as possible

She’s done so well selling those kinds of dresses. Just opened her 3rd shop in about 5 years. I have a lot of dresses from her.

Aw I'm glad to hear that, it's one of my go-to places to visit when I'm in Cambridge! Wore one of the dresses to a wedding, and I've got two lovely cardis from there as well.

I quite like some of those OP , perhaps not the one with pencils pics all over it, but I love the simple sensible style. It will cover up my podgy stomach a bit I think. Real dresses for real women and all that.
