To be surprised that at how awful these dresses are?

I'm not sure awful is the right word or why Facebook would think I might like 'Pencil Me In' or 'Treat Yourself'?

I have derived some benefit from this thread. I have discovered the sports goth look, which I may nick some ideas from, AND learned what Berghain is!

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 31/10/2020 15:55

I quite like them but then I own all these dresses so as you can see I like a quirky print :)

Not for me, you need a waist for a start.

Yeti99 · 31/10/2020 16:00

I don't like the dresses, I'd just feel a tit done up so ''quirky'' and cutesy-poo.

I have, however, just ordered this jumpsuit: www.harkelclothing.com/starry-eyed-jumpsuit.html

So thanks, OP! Although I thought it was bit mean-spirited to single out someone's business and say 'look at the shit clothes this business sells'.

Cadent · 31/10/2020 16:03

@Yeti99 nice jumpsuit but those pictures don’t show either the suit or the model’s figure in the best light. Makes her look boxy when she isn’t.

aintnothinbutagstring · 31/10/2020 16:22

Deffo looks like something a character from Balamory would wear. Don't get the trend of dressing women like children, Boden and Joules are also guilty of but at least they try and do some decent basics.

YouKidsIsCrazy · 31/10/2020 16:24

Some of those dresses are fabulous.

BohemianDream · 31/10/2020 17:04

Harkel are amazing. I always look fabulously colourful and happy. They do some cracking jumpers!

FairFridaythe13th · 31/10/2020 17:08

I wonder if they have worked out why their site is melting...

I have the 'Happy' jumper and I get so many lovely compliments.
Pangur2 · 31/10/2020 17:22

@Mandalorian More dinosaur dresses! More I say! 🦖🦕

Laughingcrow · 31/10/2020 17:24

If I was a primary school teacher or nursery I would 100% wear this. But that is the only place I would.

Oh I promise you, you'll be prying them off my cold dead body.
And don't start on my space dress 😂

I have a few Run and Fly dresses from Thunderegg:

thunderegg.co.uk/product-category/clothing/dresses/

I never understood why some women feel the need to be so bitchy about what other people wear. As long as my tits are covered and I'm not flashing my arse to you, why do you care?

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 31/10/2020 17:27

I like the glasses one and the zebra one.

KnightsofColumbusThatHurt · 31/10/2020 17:31

I love Harkel stuff, but then again the MN 'Parisian/Preppy Chic' style definitely isn't me.

I quite like 'quirky' (hate that word though!) stuff, although I do think there is a fine line to be trodden, some of those dresses aren't for me, but some of them (like the rainbow stripe dress/skirt) I really like.

Iamthewombat · 31/10/2020 17:34

I genuinely couldn’t give a stuff what other people wear. The OP asked for opinions. She got them. I wanted to know why another poster thought that anyone who didn’t like Harkel dresses was “a dullard”. Do you think that everybody who dislikes those dresses is bitchy?

JoeCalFuckingZaghe · 31/10/2020 17:38

I hate these threads as people can never just say “it’s not for me” or “I love it” and walk away.
Calling someone boring because they don’t have the same style is ridiculous. But the nastiness from the opposite side is shameful. This is why kids get bullied for being different and we’re still living with ridiculous perceptions they coloured hair makes you unprofessional.

OP was hoping for a pile on of "OH MY GOD THEY ARE AWFUL" not opinions.
Pangur2 · 31/10/2020 17:43

@Mandalorian I have the larger print dinosaur dress from R&F, but I am very tempted by the smaller print and the corduroy pinafore dress. I need to win the lottery...

Iamthewombat · 31/10/2020 17:43

As above: the defensiveness from fans of wacky clothes is quite at odds with the concept of being confident in your own style. Why do you care so much that people don’t love your hair colour or dresses?

Poking a hole in somebody else’s fatuous argument (“if you don’t like the same things as me you are BORING!”) is not shameful and nor is it bullying. Grow up.

Do you think that everybody should be compelled to like everything, and never express a negative opinion, because then children will never be bullied at school? If so, you need to take a long hard look at yourself.

I have the mustard print dino one and it's lovely, very soft material and comfortable.
I also need to win the lottery as a cursory glance at Thunderegg reveals a few bits I need 😂

How do you know? She came back and said that she thought she probably was being unreasonable because so many posters liked the frocks.

Bearsinmotion · 31/10/2020 18:49

I’m not a fan. However much earlier in the thread someone recommended Popsy, which is right up my street and will make some Christmas presents!

YoniAndGuy · 31/10/2020 18:53

@Oysterbabe

I think the company have made several sales as a result of this thread so it's worked out well for them over all.
Tell me about it 🤣

OP played a blinder on this one. Deserves a raise, especially with all that extra ££ coming in now with all these orders. And fancy! This thread happening just when they’re apparently in the last hours of the clearly signposted bargain code!!! Mmmmmmmm

WaterOffADucksCrack · 31/10/2020 19:56

They'll definitely be warn by those people who like to keep reminding you how crazy you are.

They look like children's dresses.
