Just that really. Will you actually report your neighbours if you see they have over 6 people at christmas, if the rule of 6 is still in place?

Yabu: yes i will report them
Yanbu: i wouldn't report

From my point of view, i wouldn't report.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 17/10/2020 18:57

Nope, I won't report. I'm having to break the rules myself over half term so I'd be a hypocrite if I reported someone else for doing so.

TidyDancer · 17/10/2020 18:58

If they had a few extra, no. If they chuck a party, probably yes.

TheLastDigestive · 17/10/2020 18:59

No. God, how depressing.

girlicorne · 17/10/2020 19:00

No I wouldn’t I don’t know their circumstances and it’s none of my business. People will break the rules over Xmas, reporting them won’t stop it spreading. We will comply but we only ever do xmas at home the 4 of us, if we had big family gatherings I may feel different.

Cuddling57 · 17/10/2020 19:00

No
The police officer who lives down my street doesn't either.

Redtartanshoes · 17/10/2020 19:02

No:

My neighbour regularly has her (police officer) son and his family over... taking the number in the household to way more than 6:.. and we live in an area where are you aren’t supposed to socialise at all

whyareyoulying · 17/10/2020 19:03

Nope

Vicliz24 · 17/10/2020 19:04

Most definitely not . This year has been hard enough on us all . A rave I might complain about but a family Christmas never .

Soundbyte · 17/10/2020 19:04

More than 6 people already live in my house so how would anyone know how many is too many at mine? For that alone I wouldn’t do it to anyone else, because no one knows everyone else’s circumstances.

MilkTwoSugarsThanks · 17/10/2020 19:04

Party of 20+ making a hell of a racket and ruining my Christmas = yes.

Any other scenario = no.

vodkaredbullgirl · 17/10/2020 19:05

No will be too busy.

Queenoftheashes · 17/10/2020 19:05

Certainly not, I doubt I’ll be adhering myself

NailsNeedDoing · 17/10/2020 19:05

Of course not.

1Morewineplease · 17/10/2020 19:06

I think that if they had a massive Covid soup party of many visitors, I might.

But if you're a middle aged couple with four young adult children ( not me but someone I know who I chatted with today about this) , three of whom live in different households ( students, flat shares) then I'd understand.
I want my son home from uni for Christmas and I want my frail mum here for Christmas.

I think many people will bend the rules at Christmas. It's not what we should do but it will happen.

Sparklesocks · 17/10/2020 19:07

No I wouldn’t.
I expect there might be some leniency around Christmas anyway.

babygroups · 17/10/2020 19:07

Nope, absolutely not.

KitMarlowesCodpiece · 17/10/2020 19:08

No. I'm not the fucking Stasi.

What a depressing time to be alive.

devildeepbluesea · 17/10/2020 19:08

Wouldn't report under any circumstances.

TheWernethWife · 17/10/2020 19:08

Definite no from me.

I'm in the north and totally pissed off with the Government moving the goalpost. I cannot have my friend or my neighbour in my house but I have had workmen in for 2 days and a guy measuring up for binds came yesterday, apparently that's ok.

NoSquirrels · 17/10/2020 19:08

Absolutely not.

Given my immediate neighbours are all 70+ I doubt they’ll be having a rave, and if they’d like to see more than their official allocation of friends & family that’s their business.

My sense of social justice does not extend to reporting anyone for this.

TellMeAStoryIllTellYouTheTruth · 17/10/2020 19:08

Not a chance!

My dad is terminally ill. There is no way we are complying with any of these rules when it comes to time together. My time with him and our family is precious.

I would never report anyone because I don't know their circumstances.

tigger001 · 17/10/2020 19:08

It will relaxed for Christmas due to pressure, but as others have said, if it were a family Christmas, No but a mass party, as any other day though this, yes.

Kljnmw3459 · 17/10/2020 19:08

I won't report.

CookieMumsters · 17/10/2020 19:09

No, providing it's only a few more. If they're having a lot of people regularly, I would consider it

KiposWonderbeasts · 17/10/2020 19:09

7-10, nah, families get large. Hell, a close relative has a family of 10.

25 plus, I'd probably not but think I ought.
