Shamelessly posting for traffic. I want to put together a cd for my mum to cheer her up. I've got a few really upbeat songs in mind but am hoping for more recommendations to make her a real feel-good-dance-around-the-kitchen cd.

So far:

Blanket on the Ground-Billie Jo Spears

9-5 - Dolly Parton

I'll Name the Dogs-Blake Shelton

You Make It Feel Like Christmas-Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani

People Are Crazy-Billy Currington

Suds In The Bucket-Sara Evans

Follow Your Arrow-Kacey Musgraves

Rock Me Like A Wagon Wheel-Darius Rucker

Bartender-Lady A

If you know these ones then that will give you an idea of the kind of songs I'm after.

Thank you Smile

When you’re in love with a beautiful woman - Dr Hook

Ok not a happy song but it makes me smile Grin

FadedRed · 13/10/2020 22:40

There are a couple of live concerts by The Highwaymen (Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson) on YouTube that are brilliant listening and spirit raising. Sorrow I can’t do a link, but a search will find them, one was in Aberdeen about twenty years ago.

@SunIsStillShining I came to say anything by Christian Kane.

Drinking to drink by Christian Kane is a bit of homage to the fact a lot country songs are pretty depressing.

Silver Threads & Golden Needles - Linda Ronstadt

DisneyMillie · 14/10/2020 08:45

Currently most played country songs in our house are Knockin’ Boots and One Margarita by Luke Bryan and God’s Country by Blake Shelton.

Just tell her to put Chris Country on the radio - it’s always tuned to that in our kitchen - love a bit of trucks, beer and heartbreak music!!

DynamoKev · 14/10/2020 08:49

Came onto mention One piece at a time by Johnny Cash - but someone beat me to it.

Also
Mama was a Truck Driving Man by Jethro Burns

grannycake · 14/10/2020 08:54

Stripes by Brandy Calrk was recommended on here last year as the ultimate Mumsnet country song - fashion advice and LTB in one song
