Shamelessly posting for traffic. I want to put together a cd for my mum to cheer her up. I've got a few really upbeat songs in mind but am hoping for more recommendations to make her a real feel-good-dance-around-the-kitchen cd.

So far:

Blanket on the Ground-Billie Jo Spears

9-5 - Dolly Parton

I'll Name the Dogs-Blake Shelton

You Make It Feel Like Christmas-Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani

People Are Crazy-Billy Currington

Suds In The Bucket-Sara Evans

Follow Your Arrow-Kacey Musgraves

Rock Me Like A Wagon Wheel-Darius Rucker

Bartender-Lady A

If you know these ones then that will give you an idea of the kind of songs I'm after.

Thank you Smile

If You're Going to San Francisco - Scott Mackenzie

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 13/10/2020 20:32

I find a lot of country music a bit maudlin but do confess to a real soft spot for bluegrass. Just love songs like 'The Boy Who Wouldn't Hoe Corn' and 'Glory Land'. There's still a Belgian bluegrass band still on the go from the film 'The Broken Circle Breakdown' and they are absolutely amazing.

Melamine · 13/10/2020 20:32

My Church - Maren Morris

Iamnotminterested · 13/10/2020 20:32

And Mississippi - Pussycat (? I think)

Besom · 13/10/2020 20:37

Jackson by johnny cash and June Carter
The Gambler Kenny Loggins

Welshwabbit · 13/10/2020 20:38

The lyrics don't really fit the upbeat brief but Cash on the Barrelhead (Gram Parsons/Emmylou Harris version) always cheers me up because the tune is so infectiously happy.

Devlesko · 13/10/2020 20:43

Pretty Woman - Roy Orbison

Devlesko · 13/10/2020 20:44

9-5 - Dolly Parton

ArchieStar · 13/10/2020 20:47

Carrie Underwood has done some good ones

GirlCrush · 13/10/2020 20:52
