Shamelessly posting for traffic. I want to put together a cd for my mum to cheer her up. I've got a few really upbeat songs in mind but am hoping for more recommendations to make her a real feel-good-dance-around-the-kitchen cd.

So far:

Blanket on the Ground-Billie Jo Spears

9-5 - Dolly Parton

I'll Name the Dogs-Blake Shelton

You Make It Feel Like Christmas-Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani

People Are Crazy-Billy Currington

Suds In The Bucket-Sara Evans

Follow Your Arrow-Kacey Musgraves

Rock Me Like A Wagon Wheel-Darius Rucker

Bartender-Lady A

If you know these ones then that will give you an idea of the kind of songs I'm after.

Thank you Smile

I listened to a lot of Josh Turner a few years ago til I got annoyed with how religious much of his stuff is. But Firecracker is a very bouncy upbeat one.

I went to the Grand Old Opry once and there was a really fun Canadian Cherokee (? I think) guy called Shane... Yellowbird (?) who was super cute and had a fun bouncy song about being in Tennessee but girl you're the only ten I see.... I keep forgetting to look him up and see what happened to him.

ShinyMe · 13/10/2020 21:07

Ha. I found him on you tube. Fifteen years ago omg, and... not as good as I remembered.

One Piece at a Time by Johnny Cash

@ShinyMe I'm so jealous that you've been to the Grand Ole Opry! We were supposed to go last year as part of a road trip but had to cancel the holiday the night before we were due to fly out. I've told DH that we're going to do it as soon as it's safe to travel again!

It was fun. I was in Nashville for Springsteen but went to the Opry on another night just because. I'm not especially into country, but it was a lot of fun. I remember a lady with jeans that looked coated in mud but it was actually brown glitter, Shane Yellowbird with his dimples, a girl group who were ok, a very old tiny man in a suit made of a glittery american flag.... and lots of Christmas songs (in November).

Oh well, yes. Um... quite a few times. Nobody else comes close live. Nobody else is even within the same... whatever it is. Bruce is just a phenomenon.

World is Turning by Kelly Pettit

OMG someone else who has heard of Kelly!! He's my ex's best friend, I don't know anyone else who knows who he is. Despite the company he keeps, he is really good.

I was going to say Garth Brooks The Red Strokes, or She's Every Woman, but neither of them seem to be available for download Sad
