To find Prince William a bit smug

I'm sure he means well, it's just that he seems to be lecturing everyone on the environment while he travels by helicopter a lot and has a mansion. Also I just find them quite twee and irritating, particularly at the moment when so many people are struggling. AIBU?

they seem like nice enough people.
but I do take issue with a bloke who hunts, talking about saving nature.
also the idea that they are hard working.
I think they both do a good "job"

CharlottesComplicatedWeb · 17/10/2020 13:37

@Samcro. They do it all the time. Charles banging on about climate change then helicoptering here and there. William and Prince Andrew the same. And don’t let’s get started on Andrew. Prince George being allowed to keep his bit of dinosaur or whatever it was. Imagine if we all went around taking souvenirs from the natural/ancient world. The hunting shooting fishing.

They get on my nerves and are not worth it, imo.

I suspect that whatever they did Charlotte, they'd get on your nerves! Grin

Yes. You’re quite right. I think the wealth and privilege is misplaced in modern Britain.

•An estimated 14.3 million people are in poverty in the UK
•8.3 million are working-age adults, 4.6 million are children, and 1.3 million are of pension age
•Around 22% of people are in poverty, and 34% of children are
•Just under half (49%) of those in poverty are in “fullfact.org/economy/poverty-uk-guide-facts-and-figures/y_” (people who would also have fallen below the poverty line in at least two of the last three years). This is as of 2016/17

This is from persistent poverty

It's appalling for a so called civilised country

Charlotte - All wealth and privilege or just that of the Royal Family?

notafanoftheman · 17/10/2020 18:33

Well let’s face it they are the biggest leeches in the country

Kate endured years and years of media abuse and kept her dignified silence instead of whining to the press (any kind) at every opportunity.

William's done plenty of whining about the press for her, and he and Kate (or KP/Buck House) have sued or threatened legal action because they disliked things the press have printed tons of times, even over very innocuous articles like claiming that Kate has hair extensions.

Hardly silence!

Not sure about smug , but he was somewhere today speaking in the rain and looked very tired! Big dark circles under his eyes. Those children must be keeping him up at night I think :)
